  1. This team feels exactly like 2019. Nothing has changed, expect maybe Rodgers looks a little more comfortable in MLF’s system.
  2. Oh, yeah. Mark it down. It’ll happen in the playoffs. It’s fun winning games, but this team is not built for the long haul.
  3. Rodgers really needed a 3 or 4 TD night to distance himself from Mahomes. Mahomes will surely pull ahead tomorrow with a win.
  4. I just got to halftime on the DVR. Can’t argue with the score, but this could be a very different game were it not for the Krys Barnes, umm ... block?
  5. Is he a free agent next year? Possibly a RFA? Someone is going to pay him soon. The Packers have been without a stud TE for so long. It’d be a real shame to lose him. RFA and since he was undrafted, we will need to put a 1st round tender on him. That would hurt to lose him next year. What will that cost the Packers? Do they even have the cap space?
  6. My Fox affiliate just cut to a Masked Singer promo mid-play. Edit: They did it again!
  7. Is he a free agent next year? Possibly a RFA? Someone is going to pay him soon. The Packers have been without a stud TE for so long. It’d be a real shame to lose him.
  8. Fun Facts: Joe Davis is a graduate of Beloit College and the former voice of the Montgomery Biscuits.
  9. Josh Jackson is a healthy scratch.
  10. But what are the odds they get a player better than Matthew Stafford with one of those two picks? Probably less than 50%, right?
  11. Regarding Stafford and the Lions: What’s a fair return on an above average QB? Keep in mind, the Lions would have to eat the remaining portion of his amortized signing bonus, which will accelerate to the current year’s cap. Whoever trades for Stafford will get him on a ‘value’ contract. Say they get two #1s in return. Of those two picks, one is likely to be a bust (that’s not a knock on the Lions, it’s just the nature of the draft). I just don’t see it making a ton of sense, but hey, it’s the Lions.
  12. I’m not sure I understand why some media personalities are advocating for the Lions to trade Matthew Stafford. Wouldn’t it be easier for the Lions to get their house in order with Matthew Stafford than it would be to get their house in order AND draft a Pro Bowl quarterback? Neither is easy, but I think life in the NFL is generally better with a decent quarterback. They should have stuck with Jim Caldwell.
  13. Did any one catch Aaron Rodgers on Pat McAfee this week? He sounded a little salty about not having a say in personnel decisions. I also find it amusing that Pat McAfee badly wanted a NFL TV gig after retiring from the Colts (and didn’t get much interest from the networks), but now the main stream sports media writes stories based on content from his show.
  14. Moon and Fouts both had pretty unique careers with Moon winning 5 Grey Cups before joining the NFL and Fouts being the first modern passing QB. Most people would put them in the HOF, despite their 0.500 win percentages. I certainly don’t object to their inclusion. Goff has been the Rams primary starter for 4 years and is 42-19. That’s pretty good, but let’s wait and see how the next 6 years go. By no means am I suggesting he’s automatically in he continues this pace, but if he finishes his career 100-50, then I think he’s in the conversation. No one wins 100 games by accident. * For the record, I think Goff is an above average QB (but not elite).
  15. I’m pumped for a Saturday night game. I can catch a little extra sleep in the morning.
  16. I’m with ya. It’s fun to debate. The 0.600 win% over ~10 years is still very telling for today’s QBs, IMO.
  17. I assume you consider wins a QB stat then? That's been an argument for awhile now. I think it’s a very telling stat with few limitations (Joe Flacco is probably not better than Matthew Stafford, but Flacco has won 56% of the games he’s started to Stafford’s 46%).
  18. Since stats no longer allow for inter-generational comparison, here’s the one criteria I propose for evaluating HOF candidacy: Did they win 60% of their games as one team’s primary starter over a period of at least 10 years? Exceptions could obviously be made on a case-by-case basis.
  19. If the Rams or Seahawks run the table would we still hold the tie-breaker over them? (If we lose to the Titans.) No head-head, so NFC record is next right? I believe you’re correct. 2 of the Packers’ losses would have been to AFC teams, thus they’d likely have the best NFC record in that scenario.
  20. I’ll definitely be pulling for the Chiefs this weekend, but if they lose, that probably means Mahomes wasn’t perfect and Rodgers may pick up some MVP votes.
  21. Admittedly, I didn’t follow the MiLB realignment too closely; however, I’m a little surprised the Brewers are back in Nashville. Didn’t they kind of screw over the Brewers a few years ago and the Crew had to go to Colorado Springs? I’m assuming the facilities and proximity to Milwaukee were too good to pass up.
  22. Canadian NHL teams might have to relocate to the US for the 2021 season due to COVID travel restrictions in the Great White North. I wonder if Milwaukee would be a potential temporary home?
  23. This would be a good year to let an undefeated Group of 5 team like Cincinnati into the CFP. 9-0 is more impressive than 5-0 or 6-0 teams from major conferences.
  24. Assuming Rodgers’ play doesn’t drop off significantly next year, the price would start at two #1s..
