  1. Just like they did in the old Maddens, after they got rid of it the first time. You assign buttons on the controller to the plays, and not have a thing that highlights the play. IMHO, they really took a step back when they brought back the play highlighting. When buttons were assigned to the play calling, you could still do something like hold down the left trigger and press a button and it would "hide" your play call by calling the one above or below it. Am I the only one that has a gripe with this? I guess it's just a huge pet peave of mine.
  2. Jason Marquis = Ace at least thats how the Braves make him look. EDIT: AND Cox gets ejected, who would have thought. What was he arguing? Was it a legit. argument?
  3. did they get rid of the thing where you can see the play your opponent is selecting yet?? (only when you are playing another person on your box). This one, extremely stupid feature has kept me from buying any of the new Madden games.
  4. I think #2 is an awful idea. This is the only thing that allows small market clubs like the Brewers to succeed. There is no way we could afford to pay market value for JJ, Rickie, Prince, Hart, Yovanni, Manny and Villanueva. I like the arbitration system as I feel it makes players go year to year and really earn there keep (at least in those first 6 years). I like your idea on number 4. This would be a quick check of the video and not delay the game for more than a minute or 2. I also agree with number 5. I can't stand the little platforms behind the wall like in center field at MP. I don't see a point to them (other than to be a flower bed) and they make thsoe calls all the more difficult.
  5. Acquired from the Indians for either a PTBNL or cash. LINK on a side note, I have always loved this guys' delivery.
  6. Agreed with everyone, that 4 x 100M relay was amazing. That was as good as swimming can get right there. Lezak was down a full length coming into the last turn. Go America!
  7. Unreal. God save the Nationals! They are a cure-all!
  8. Kappler batting third for the win!
  9. I've got a buddy on the drumline. You friends with any of them?
  10. No way they should even consider Jeffress for the bullpen at this point. He is too young to not give him a shot at starting. I think in 4 years if he is still in the minors and struggling starting, then maybe you give him a second look and toss him in the bullpen. I'm sure he would be lights-out there.
  11. This is the exact approach I take when we are having one of those "2-hit against a guy w/ an ERA over 6" games. I just can't stand to watch how painful it is sometimes.
  12. Mark Derosa....unreal.
  13. 2 Questons: 1) Are BA and Rock really as big on knobs as they sound on TV? I'm willing to change my mind about this pending information from someone w/ first-hand experience of them 2) Do BA and Rock (or anybody else over for the Brewers) ever come over here to guage the feelings of the Brewer fans? You should tell them they should come post sometime. That would be fantastic to have something like a Q & A section of the forum w/ BA and/or Rock.
  14. RISP Watch: Brewers : 5-11 Reds : 0-8
  15. Wait a second. How did you get this job? Sounds pretty interesting. Care to elaborate on the whole process a little more? You apply through MLB.com and go through an interview process and take a very in-depth test on how to score a game and then interview some more. There is a manual full of codes that you use to score each pitch and play. You train for awhile on taped games and you need to learn a lot of the coding so that you can score the game as quick as possible. When you're watching gameday and there's a pause, it's because whoever is scoring doesnt know how to score it - either it's a weird play, or a complicated code or the official scorer hasn't made a decision - the program won't advance until you enter a code - so you can't go on until you're scored the play before. I am assuming you have to be at the ballpark in order to do this, correct? Sounds like an awesome job. Props to all those who have it.
  16. RISP Watch: Brewers : 5-11 Reds : 0-6 Continuing the good pace!

  18. Oops, sorry, didn't realize there was another thread. I thought about getting it filmed, however it is $95. The jump itself is $175 I believe. That just seems like way to much for a film I'll probably only watch 2 times. Oh, and Ray, I'm getting the feeling like this wasn't a good experience for you. Is that correct?
  19. Was there a sweet collission on that play or was Prince out by a mile?
  20. RISP Watch: Brewers : 4-9 Reds : 0-6
  21. I would say #8 for runs scored is very dissapointing. You hear announcers talking about this "great offense" that the Brewers have, when in reality they just have a lot of power coupled with a propensity to strike out.
  22. RISP Watch: Brewers : 2-6 Reds : 0-6 Hope they keep it up!
  23. There is somethign to be said about all of that. I think total men left on base would probably be a better way of expressing what I am thinking of. Know anywhere to look this up? (I didn't see it on ESPN).
