  1. Some do, I have a brother in law who hires for a LARGE company. One of the first things he does is go to social media to see what kind of person is applying. A lot of resumes go straight to the garbage can based on what he has seen and read on candidates social media accounts. It's a thing, even if young people want to believe they are bullet proof. What do these companies think about people that have no social media accounts. I don’t have twitter, Instagram, or any of the like. I just started a Facebook account only for family photos I can’t identify people. I don’t post anything on there though other than the photos. Just curious
  2. Paul, The times are a changing. I received an email for an invitation last week for my 3rd grade daughter to play on an AAU summer basketball team. I had no idea who the coach was, or there even was a team. The coach watched basketball games, and by her number contacted her coaches for my info. Since the invitation, I've had to research who the coach is and what this team is all about. If your child isn't playing travelling teams they are not going to play much on the high school teams unless your child is an elite athlete. I used to deliver to a director of a youth soccer club about 10 years ago. The director and his brother were both professional outdoor soccer players who played in England born in Ireland. He would tell me how only in the U.S. that high school sports are held in a higher regard than club teams. In Europe the HS was for fun with friends, but the real gem was doing well at the AAU level. I believe from watching friends kids play both boys and girls AAU that this is coming true now slowly in the US. I remember a couple years ago that the WIAA in Wisconsin moved the girls soccer state championships to the same weekend as the AAU championships. Many of the girls were having to make decisions on which league they wanted to play for. I don't know if that situation has been rectified. In my high school years 28 years ago we only had 1 player that did both golf and baseball. I mean, ya, it sucks to have to decide. Athletes in boys football and soccer have had to pick one or the other for the most part for as long as I can remember. Its not that is doesn't happen in other seasons also. Wrestling/Basketball. I firmly believe the school system could get rid of most athletics. In the Political forum you are really pro budget and not putting more money into the school systems. Think of all the money that can be saved by getting rid of athletics.
  3. You attended every day of Spring Training? You saw all the workouts? I attended the 7 days before the games started. I watched as all the played got in a big line as the coach was running the stretching workouts on the field. Then the players broke into groups and went to their respective fields.
  4. I went to spring training this year. I watched as the strength and conditioning coach tried to get the players to go through the stretching exercises before practice started. Maybe, if your lucky, half the players would do at most 30 percent of the stretches asked of them. It seemed to be chit chat time for the players. I understand these are grown men, but the players could at least do exercises that would benefit themselves.
  5. Any of the bars on Bluemound. Take 41/45 south from Appleton to the Bluemound exit. Go east and you’ll run into them. For a reference, when you get off the freeway to get onto Bluemound your at 100th street.
  6. The players that are playing travel ball are playing all year long. My girls play travel basketball and that is pretty much all year round with all the different leagues and clinics going on. They have probably 2 full months off a year. Most coaches don’t mind if kids miss some of the practices as long as they are playing others sports. My girls basketball coaches didn’t mind that my girls missed practice to play soccer games. They know my kids are running and staying in shape and will be ready for the season. I have said before that high schools could get rid of most athletics, because if a child isn’t playing in all these things they may make a high school team but probably won’t play. I wouldn’t mind summer baseball if the freshman year for baseball started before they start high school. Have the season end right before football practices start in August. Too many kids in their senior year now would rather work than play baseball before going to college.
  7. I’ve seen him in drills and a little in spring training games. He is not very good in the field whether he throws the ball or not. He makes Ryan Braun look like a gold glover. He can hit and hit a lot. I just don’t know where the Brewers can hide him in the field.
  8. That was my issue with the 10 million dollar renovation last year. New signs, but same crappy service.
  9. I like Ryan Braun the baseball player. I don’t want him to be traded and hope he retires a Brewer. But, with that said. I wouldn’t necessarily trust his word if there was a “he said she said” incident with him. Like the old adage...fool me once....
  10. I can remember everyone one of the stories surrounding the players busted for PED’s. Many came clean and manned up. Braun lied about it and still to this day still never gave the whole story of what happened.
  11. I'm going with 80 wins. I just don't think there is enough starting pitching. The bullpen is strong, but with what I believe weak starters that bullpen will get taxed and won't recover.
  12. I’ll be honest. As a Michigan fan I feel a little guilty of the run of opponents to possibly get to the championship game. It must be what Badger fans feel every year as the football team plays in the Big Ten championship game.
  13. GO BLUE
  14. Yes please. I love and wear this hat all the time but continuously get “go blue” and other Michigan references shouted at me. As a Wisconsin fan it becomes rather annoying. I love that hat also, but I am a Michigan fan. I'm always wearing Michigan garb, so the Go Blue references are normal to me. My wife thinks its odd though.
  15. Game winning 3 point shot by Jordan Poole from Milwaukee.
  16. No readings at the game. As basic of a scoreboard as you can get.
  17. I'll be at the game in Tempe. Does anyone know who is starting on the mound for the crew? I’ll be there also right next to the Brewers dugout. Row F I believe. No starter has been named yet. Suter and Woodruff are scheduled to start Fridays split squad game.
  18. I’m at spring training now and have watched Hiura take infield work. I just don’t see where they can hide his glove. He was not very good fielding and his arm is not strong at all. Pat Murphy was on his ass.
  19. I’ve felt the same way about basketball since the original Dream Team.
  20. Last winter I went into our full bathroom and seen water all over the counter and floor. I thought one of my kids did it and was yelling at them to take ownership of the mess. I quickly found out the water was coming from the bathroom fan vent. Snow must have blown into the vent ductwork and the stayed frozen in the cold attic for a while before it melted. I haven't had any leaks since that time. Just saying it might be something really simple before you go spending a whole lot of money. A roof shouldn't need to be replaced after only 10 years.
  21. I had help today... OMLB's Josh Hader...practice ball he threw to my daughter...photo make jsonline and Haudricourt's twitter Jhoulys Chacin Stephen Vogt Tyler Webb Aaron Wilkerson Taylor Williams Brandon Woodruff Corbin Burnes Keston Hiura 8x10's Josh Hader Manny Pina Jesus Aguilar Jett Bandy Aaron Wilkerson Brandon Woodruff Orlando Arcia Brent Suter Stephen Vogt Zach Davies Jacob Barnes if anyone has any extra 5x7's unsigned please let me know
  22. Hader signing right before won’t help the congestion of people waiting
  23. I cut the cord 18 months ago, but I’m trying to lessen my tv watching. I use apps, but they do take longer than spectrum to find the shows I want. I would never DVR a sporting event anyways, and use an antenna to watch a Packers game if I want. I save $100 a month, and just use Spectrum for the internet
