  1. I think people may be living in yesterday with Meyer. He's got a few black marks now. The whole draw of a big name college coach is recruiting. I don't know that Meyer still has that kind of pull anymore. After a scandal, dancing with some lady at the bar and losing a bunch of games...it sure would not surprise if he's right back in it again, but I also wouldn't be surprised if programs just find it easier to stay away.
  2. Chiefs have been unbeatable since half the forum decided Jordan Love's career was over.
  3. I'll never figure out why NFL teams would ever harvest NCAA for coaches. 90% of the success is recruiting. That's not to say it can't work, but you'd probably have the same rate of success plucking somebody like Lance Leipold who's been successful in a bunch of different scenarios.
  4. I dunno that I see AZ just falling to pieces because one WR is out. He was having a pretty crappy, hurt season anyway. That said, I thought AZ was the weakest of the top 4 anyway. I was, and am, hoping the chips fall so we end up playing them. Tampa is the best team in my eyes. The defense is the difference for me, while not statistically very good this year, it's the rush that will give GB problems. And I just don't trust the Packers to win a conference until they do. They could be 13-pt favorites over Tampa with Brady on the Covid list and I'd still be thinking they're gonna lose.
  5. We should already be doing this.
  6. Squelcher for DDV. I had the same reaction on Giannis. Get him off his legs for a little bit.
  7. It's pretty inexcusable for the Packers to lose any of the last 4 games. I'll blame nobody but them if they don't get a bye. Next week is the only game that wouldn't be downright shameful and they should still win it.
  8. I don't know. I think it's certainly debatable. We also flubbed an onside kick, booted a kickoff out of bounds...nearly every time the ST was on the field, something went wrong.
  9. I don't know that Crosby is actually "done," it's just that for the Packers situation + his recent play it makes sense to move on. Something's happened this year where he's freaking out about what will happen before he kicks the ball. You can almost see it on his face.
  10. I saw that but they are dropping the price to $50. So basically the same as having YTTV and the Disney Plus ESPN whatever bundle for $13.99. So it shouldn't affect too much from a customer's perspective.
  11. I must be crazy, but there is something about Murray for me that just doesn't pass the eye test. I keep being told he's really good but every time I watch I'm super unimpressed.
  12. A MNF I actually want to see. That's like a Packers punt coverage team forcing a fair catch.
  13. It certainly does happen where they will throw someone out for this...even before an interview. They either assume you are going to ask for too much or they are worried you won't stay around for long. I went to an interview last week just to humor myself I guess and I'm almost certain there will be an offer this week, as they contacted me for references on Friday. I don't think I've ever had that happen and not had an offer. The work was more engaging than what I'm doing and the operation much smaller, but now but I have a feeling it will come in way low, and I'd have to give up a bunch of cushy large-company benefits that I just don't think I'm ready to lose. I mentioned early on in the process I was ok with a lateral compensation move, but as things moved along and the reality of that decision set in, I chickened out a bit. I'd still do something for less $$, but this is also longer commute, likely loss of some PTO (currently have 5 weeks), some benefits, matching % is less, etc. It all starts to add up.
  14. The injuries to the OL will become apparent the instant we play Tampa. I've already adjusted my expectations based on how decimated that unit is. I still think if we hadn't lost DBhak last year, we'd have won the NFCCG.
  15. Honestly, how much does a return game matter nowadays, especially with as long as Rodgers is on the roster, which, sure, is in doubt for next season. I'd settle for a guy that doesn't drop fair catches. The coverage team is another story. I'm sure they already know they have to bring a kicker in next season, and I get why it probably won't happen right now. It's a hard thing to replace midyear and can quickly result in 3 new kickers in the last few weeks of the season.
  16. He has zero drops this year That might mean something if he didn't have 20 receptions. Drop is also a pretty generous stat. You could make a case he had one last night in the end zone. And the onside kick that bounced right off his hands...I thought at the end of last season he looked like a good candidate to break out this year, so it has been pretty disappointing to see him mostly do nothing or not suit up.
  17. My favorite part of that onside kick is that MVS is on the "hands" team.
  18. Fields stinks. I just don't see it with him. I keep hearing that he's showing promise etc. But it just feels like the same thing I've heard a dozen times when the Bears spend high draft capital on a QB and everyone commits to the guy for a little while. He's really athletic but I'm envisioning the same carousel in a year or two.
  19. Yes, I've noticed this too. I've been as staunch a supporter of Crosby as anyone but even I have to say it's time to move on from him. He's done. I can't imagine him kicking for us next season. I just hope it doesn't end as poorly as possible for him this year.
  20. C'mon, #1 is pretty silly. Forget that Douglas was under contract with the Raiders all summer, if they let king walk and signed Rasul Douglas as a starter they would have been ridiculed all summer. I don't think the Packers even thought he'd do what he's done. This just sounds like a really odd take, like some weird gymnastics to find a way to criticize a fantastic midseason signing. Actually believing this would require someone to think they knew in the spring that Rasul Douglas was an upgrade to King.
  21. Packers might be the pioneers who start onside kicking every kickoff pretty soon.
  22. This game just has a very weird feel. Like I'm expecting us to at least attempt a FG here and I think we'll win, we're down 10 but it feels like we shouldn't be. I guess big plays will do that.
  23. We literally should hang every punt and just accept it's going 38 yards. We can't cover them.
  24. Who was that injured lineman? I just missed it.
  25. For some reason I expected this game to be like this. I think we'll win running away but it feels like we rarely just blow the brakes off divisional opponents.
