The bullpen ERA is over 5? I thought I looked it up today and it was 3 something, 9th in MLB.

What do you mean when healthy? Is he hurt? Referring to past seasons.

Suter's been really good when healthy. Good enough to pitch anywhere. Just made a mistake and had a bad night. If we lose, the story again will be that we just didn't score. I think we have 3 hits right now.

I'm guessing with Thursday off, Yelich isn't going at all until Friday.

First game I've watched on TV. Nice catch by Garcia and he and JBJ have turned doubled into singles on different plays. Our OF is very good. It becomes easy to see what they were trying to do with the roster.

I know this is sort of rare but I've never really cared about other rival teams winning titles when mine doesn't. I tune the sport out most of the time once my teams are eliminated. I pulled for the Vikings the last couple times they got semi-close. They've lost enough and I just don't care once it's not my team. I'd like to see the Brewers get one at some point but it makes no difference to me if they lose to the Cardinals or Padres on the way.

Meh, getting lucky doesn't win you 96 regular season games with one of the lowest payrolls in MLB. I'm a bit confused where all this concern is coming from. The 2021 team looks pretty good so far. We all knew they were going to struggle with a tough schedule in April but if they can continue to float around .500 they will be fine. Several important pieces -- Shaw and Narvaez -- are off to good starts. They finally got rid of Arcia, everyone had been asking for that for years. They are not going to leave their starters in for 100+ pitches this early. Nobody does that. They will reshuffle bullpen roles if certain guy struggle. What else is there to do barely one week into the season? It's 162, not 60 this year. There's time. As for the low OPS, that's nearly all Hiura at this point. Getting lucky can take you from 90 to 96 though, and it almost definitely did that season, and does for at least one team ever year. It's part of the game, always has been. It's hard to say they weren't lucky with Aguilar, and Shaw to a lesser extent. The stars really aligned for us that season in many ways, from multiple plug-in options working out wonderfully, to a guy falling down while heading home in a pivotal September game. They had bad luck, too, of course, but the last month had a definite magic feel to it.

We got beyond lucky in 2018. We built a good team, but got lightning in a bottle with multiple guys like Shaw and a few months of Aguilar hitting like Prince Fielder. We will likely need that kind of good fortune to ever close the deal, but the chips really fell for us, with the exception of getting Schoop.

Hard to blame the team when two of the biggest culprits are your prized prospect who OPS'd .940 as a rookie and now can't play baseball, and the franchise cornerstone in some kind of power outage. Those two have to be better than they are. It's a long season and you just have to hope they get going.

We've had 4 games where SP surrendered literally one hit, and we've lost two of them. We have to hit the ball. The expectation can't be that we shut people out. I don't like either call to remove Burnes or Woody when he did, and we won the latter, but we can't be this bad or the managing won't matter. We've got be at least mediocre at hitting this year.

Yup, does not get much worse than Tom or Adam. Not that 80% of Brewers twitter can see what Tom posts anyway. Adam is an MLB employee. He's not going to scoop stuff without the team's say-so. Tom has been in coast mode for 20 years, he has no excuse. -
Well, we can't get upset because we give up one run. We have to score. We can be bad on offense, we cannot be this bad.

I think most of us are aware of this sort of thing by now, but what are the stats when the SP has thrown 74 pitches and given up 1 hit on his 3rd trip? This throws today's situation in a barrel with all kinds of scrubs working their 3rd time through on 97 pitches. There has to be a time when you toss this to the side when it's obvious a guy is dealing.

I have no issue with Counsell removing any starter with an active no-hitter in a tie game (I know that had passed, just saying) if the situations calls for it or the guy is clearly laboring. This was a bad decision. I like CC a lot, but this was stupid. It's OK to call a spade a spade.

Over-managing nonsense that has been rampant in baseball for a good 20 years. All I can think of is getting Williams work in a tight situation. No way I'd have taken Woody out with how he looked and his counts. But managers have their guys for their cute situations and circumstances be damned. Well, Counsel seems more guilty of it than most others. He can't wait to bring in his relievers. Too bad for Woody but lets not forget the offense left him hanging with just a 1 run lead after that gem. That's because I think Counsel follows the data more than most, which is usually a very good thing, but there ARE times when the analytics guys are wrong, IMO, and you need to use gut instinct sometimes. Rarely, but sometimes. I'm sure there is a strong evidence-based argument on 3rd time through VS. a reliever like Williams, but no way I'd have done it there.

To have tailgating on Opening Day they would have had to be staffed to do so, which would have required knowing that a bit ahead of time and getting an OK from the city. The Covid tide turned rapidly and a lot of people got vaccinated quickly, then very recently the CDC issued new guidance on travel, "unnecessary safety theater", and Spring Break came and went or is ongoing. The climate changed fast. But the team always wanted tailgating, they needed the go-ahead from Milwaukee.
