  1. I don't think there are. There are people, like me, who want it to happen. But we all know it isn't.
  2. It was an outlier for an otherwise solid, dependable mid-to-back rotation starter. He's been one of few guys carrying his weight (for most of) this season.
  3. I will agree for once that this is as must-win as it gets with a month left. They need to take 2 here. Of course, if they take 3, it really doesn't matter if they go 1-5 with Houston and the 4-gamer with the Cubs. This stretch is it though. If they go 3-6, 4-5 in these next 9 you have to think it's over. They pretty much have to get hot right now and beat superior teams.
  4. Aguilar sucked, there is nothing to explain. I also can't believe there are people that actually think they make call-up decisions based on the minor league playoffs. Like, you actually believe the MLB is sitting there going "He could help, but let's wait until they win the AAA title."
  5. When Sabathia left it was a big gut punch. The feeling was that it would be tough to do it again. Fielder's production was for the most part replaced by A-Ram. That team was still good. If you just look at the stats, the offense was ridiculous and the SP was good. The bullpen was atrocious. So yes, that year was very disappointing.
  6. Yeah, but few people predicted they'd win more than 90 games this year. After all that went wrong, with absolutely horrendous regression from guys like Shaw, Aguilar, Chacin and Burnes, and a disappointing year from Cain, injuries to Knebel, Woodruff late, really, it kinda makes sense they will probably end up around 83. I think it was a pretty plausible outcome in preseason that 2 of MKE/STL/CHC would make the playoffs and the other would be one of the bubble teams. Unfortunately it looks like that will be us. It's been a bad year, no doubt about it. Some bad luck and some bad decisions that bit us. In spite of that, they are still playing (losing) meaningful games this late in the year.
  7. I don't think a single person thinks this team is as good as last year's or even close. Only until very recently were they positioned any better in the standings. For a long time they were within a game of WC2, tied or had sole possession of it. Also, their team might have been better last year, but so was the competition. The fact remains they still have a chance and one good week could put them right back in it. Likely? No, that's reflected in their 10% odds. But what were the odds of winning the Central at this point last year? I'd be pretty surprised if they were 10%. If they make some call ups and go 8-2 people will suddenly stop acting like it's the worst team in franchise history. I'm totally resigned to the fact this team isn't making the playoffs, but they still could.
  8. Eh, I think he knew this would go viral or at least had an idea it could. Pretty much a carbon copy of "I'm trying Jennifer"
  9. Yelich Hader > 8-9 top 100 prospects Moose Grandal Albers > 3 prospects all outside of the top 700 prospects Ugh, please stop.
  10. I think you may need to know that two tickets in 208 and Row 4 are going for $40 total on StubHub...after fees. There are others in 208 for less...so...you're either going to this game or time to cut losses.
  11. Nelson and Peralta gonna save the day. Imagine if I told you in June we'd be within 4 games of the last wild card but those two were coming in to close the gap.
  12. What's with this repetitive mantra about selling? We have nothing to sell unless it's Yelich. Expiring Moose that nobody wanted 2x in FA and a couple months of Grandal when every contender has a C? That we didn't "sell" is really not going to hold us back in the grand way people seem to think. The return would have been marginal at best.
  13. Unfortunately, it's looking like the postmortems of 2019 will include deciding which other previous season it most resembled, 2009 or 2013. 2012. It's pretty much the same, at least the bullpen is just as horrific and the starters quite a bit worse.
  14. Counsell would absolutely be hired by another team. Anyone that doesn't acknowledge that is out to lunch.
  15. Their young starters they banked on moving forward with got hurt or were terrible. It's not that mysterious. Knebel didn't help, and Travis Shaw, God knows what his 2020 looks like. IMO fixing Corbin Burnes should be priority one. Too much talent there from a guy who looked great against MLB hitters and suddenly playing beer league soft toss. Something is wrong there and I hope it's merely physical.
  16. It isn't a must win game or series as they will probably finish 6-7 back of a spot. The odds are low and only slightly higher had they won. I don't think anyone other than us was taking this team's playoff bid very seriously...the pitching just isn't there. Hasn't been all year.
  17. Which still wouldn't make this game a must-win, a phrase I've used to describe "today's" game at about 60 different points in the year.
  18. Lmao, I just googled this thinking it was some 80s song reference or something. Now that I see the origins I'm all for this.
  19. They could get swept and potentially be like 3 games out of the wild card with 29 to play. This isn't must-win territory. The deck is really stacked against them regardless and this staff appears more incapable of stringing together a hot streak the longer the season goes. But this isn't must win.
  20. Sorta, but 2011 was really more of our shot. We may have objectively had the best MLB team that year. Last year we definitely didn't.
  21. Gio wasn't that bad. Take out his worst inning and this baby is tied!
  22. All those questions can be answered in the spring and even if Grisham played every game starting tomorrow it would do little to tell you what you have. The team is what it is this year. Play for WC2 because you have a chance, try to have a little fun watching it because winter is long and we've seen far worse. Anyway, does anyone know when the Yankees last came to Milwaukee? I can't remember off the top of my head and noticed they do next year. Definitely want to upgrade my seats for that.
  23. This team really was done by all star break. Not by mathematical probabilities, but you could just tell they weren’t really very good I was resigned to this fate earlier than most people, they just weren’t even close to last years team where I was considerably confident of their chances by the end of July. I cant wait until its the last week of the season and you two are jerking each other off about how correct you about the Brewers being mediocre. I mean, I know that's why I come to this place. Thank you again for being such great fans and letting us all know about it. Almost every one has said they're mediocre since like June. This isn't some blazing hot take but they keep pretending it is.
  24. Probably going to end up with a record very close to the 2006 World Champs.
  25. Go down 0-2 in a best of 5, which could happen if the Dodgers played the Marlins today, and you're not so unbeatable. The five game DS makes anyone beatable. Does anyone think LAD, NYY and Houston will all be in the LCS? I'll take that bet if so.
