  1. Those figures don't surprise me at all. The league is full of defenses that can't rush the edge
  2. Already seeing cries that we overpaid on Twitter. I really can't stand this fan base.
  3. Turner is weird to me as well. But OL play all over the league is poor and comes at a premium. Especially on guys that can play multiple positions. I do know the new staff has changed what they're looking for in their OL. They probably see something specific in him that we don't. He has progressed a lot since being a total flop in Miami.
  4. I went from pretty meh on this team to wanting to see what they get in the draft in a matter of hours. No guarantee of success by any stretch, but I can't see Rodgers struggling as much as he has forever. Brewers just starting up, the Bucks with the best record in the NBA and reason to think GB can get back to the playoffs. Fun time.
  5. I've wanted Bulaga out for a while, so I'd love that. Perry was a $14mm cap value each of next three years, but $11mm in dead money. So it freed up about $3mm this year. The thing with Perry is, is it really dead money if the guy can't even stay on the field? I'd say no, it's more like a sunk cost.
  6. Turner gets $11mm in year one apparently.
  7. If it wasn't obvious, they are going with youth that hopefully still hasn't peaked. None of these guys are players who've topped out yet. Obviously that may not be true, but that's at least the projection.
  8. That makes way more sense than 4/20. There's no way he was that cheap.
  9. Pressure statistics are so scheme dependent, it's almost useless to look at. Sacks are entirely useless to look at. He's credited with 57 pressures last season, but the biggest thing that stands out to me is that the dude is a 6'6 "linebacker." Teams look for skill sets to use in their scheme, not statistics. I'm sure they have a plan for how they want to use him. I'm just so glad the Thompson era is over. We would have filled this hole with a 5th round pick from Saginaw Valley State four years ago. You look at someone like Anthony Barr who is a "pass rusher" on paper but when you pick apart his sacks, not one came against an OL. He basically has a ton of unblocked sacks from playing in such a great scheme.
  10. P. Smith is the best player of the three they signed so I'm curious what those terms look like.
  11. Amazing, why add so many players to a defense with so much talent?!...
  12. My worthless gut feeling is that the Packers bring Matthews back. He's not a bad player at the right price, he just wasn't living up to the annual salary from his big money deal. I think he would want to come back, which may bring the price down too. A one-year prove-it deal would be my guess.
  13. There's really no sense in me arguing this, but I don't understand how anybody can think this. You could put 1,000 designers in a room and none of them would ever think of creating a glove with a ball in it that has the initials of the team. An M with barley under it is better than that? I just don't get it. That's run of the mill agency work. And I've always wondered if it was just another piece of their deal with Miller because it sure as hell looks like one. There's just nothing special about their logo. You could probably show it to fans of other teams and they'd have to think whose it is.
  14. This is all going exactly how I'd hoped. 2018 was always a throwaway to me like '05. They sorta had one foot in win now mode and signed some low-risk FA, but seemed to realize it could be a rebuild. I love the youth of both of these guys. I think they're primed to be a big sleeper team next season. A lot of people have written them off.
  15. Vouchers are in increments of $5 usually, at least for me they are though I have seen $10. And you don't get change. So no sense using a voucher on a $3 purchase. If a beer is normally 10 bucks, SSH day it's $7.50, you'd pay $2.50 cash plus a $5 SSH voucher. Also you can't use them at Fridays and I don't think the walking vendors will take them. I think you have to actually go to a stand. That's all accurate. They're good at the stands or in the team stores. There's also no change, so as pointed out, if your purchase is $6, you'd only want to use one voucher and pay the difference in cash. You can the most bang for your buck on the SSH days obviously, as you can combine the two. That's what I was getting at. So if I ring up a $40 face value bill on an SSH night, I only have to use $30 in vouchers on it?
  16. Curious what happens if you have a F&B voucher on an SSH night. Do you pay the discounted rate with your voucher or do they use the voucher before it comes off? I assume it's the latter.
  17. Hader's not even out of arby until 2024 I think, could be wrong. I believe Knebel is in 2021, only reason I said it that way.
  18. You just get tickets that look like game tickets, IIRC. There is no checking of IDs. It's August 16, last year it was in July sometime, on one of those 95 degree nights but oddly the field was extremely comfortable. I want to say it's at 7pm or so. It was definitely the night sky about half way through the film. There was a game that night and they had it on the jumbotron until the start of the movie. I actually thought it would have been cool to just let us watch the game from there. They open a few concession stands as well.
  19. I'd go to the table with Knebel but that's it. He was a blue chip prospect from the start, unlike many flavor of the month Brewers relievers.
  20. I don't like it. Build something now instead of living in the past. If this team wasn't dog crap for 25 years, nobody would be as vocal about bringing the logo back but since it was the logo when the Brewers had their first (and basically only) success until recently, people seem attached to it. Cut the cord. I disagree. I'd love that logo whether they were trash or world beaters. Incorporating M and B together to form a ball and glove was an ingenious design and the fact that young/new fans still figure out the hidden meaning of the logo every year is cool. The Packers have an iconic logo and a rich history but that B&G logo blows it away in terms or ingenuity and creativity. The logos since then have no personality. Just generic agency creations that I could make with 10 minutes in photoshop. Celebrating the '82 team so often annoys me, but the logo doesn't. I never associated it with winning anyway.
  21. Agree but I think that's more of a merchandising thing. NBA jerseys are a fashion statement in a lot of demographic groups, MLB jerseys far less so.
  22. I really question anyone that says they don't like the B&G. Like they're trying to be contrarian. If you don't like that I don't know what your appreciation for design/art can be. It's simply the most ingenious logo in any sport. I don't think any are even close. It was stupid of the team to ever move away from it. I'd rather the Packers move away from 70s green and mustard yellow (I know it'll never happen) than to see the Brewers drop that logo.
  23. The F&B card comes mid March per rep. It also is sent separately from your tickets. Sure seems the Brewers could cut back a bit on postage by sending this stuff all at once rather than 8 separate mailings.
  24. You can pay like $100 a person to do it. The problem is they only allow 8 people per game. So that is a max 648 people and I am sure they won't book that all to SSH. The ticket upgrades suck in my opinion. You can just do that through the ballpark app. I have done it numerous times and it costs $35 a ticket to go from anywhere to one of the first 3 rows in the diamond box. I have even gotten first row in the first section of the outfield box for like $25 a ticket. There are always tickets they are holding for 20 gamers or other reasons in those premium section that just become upgrade eligible before the game. Agree. There are too many restrictions on the ticket upgrades and they only go up one level. Just use Ballpark and don't waste the reward item. I did want to mention again though, did anyone renew early? I did, in September, at the behest of getting an "early renewal gift," which I still haven't gotten. I think it was food vouchers or something, but I never got anything.
