  1. The fact that PFF graded the Packers offensive line 7th in the NFL is either a damning condemnation of PFF or simply another piece of evidence that offensive line play has truly fallen off a cliff, a sentiment that's been floating around for 3-4 years now. Again, this season was the 2nd worst offensive line I've seen Rodgers play with, 2008 being the one that I think was easily worse. His offensive lines have usually been extremely good, so it's a big of a misleading thing to say, but I absolutely refuse to buy this line as some kind of juggernaut. It's not. It has two very good players in Linsley and Bakhtiari, and just going off the eye test, the others get pushed around routinely. There were a few seasons where Daryn Colledge was the obvious weak link on the OL, and they're playing with 3-4 of him right now. My guess is that as the NFL moved toward being so pass-heavy, teams cheaped out on OL and once you had a blindside protector you could fill the other spots with guys who simply buy you a second or two. But PFF has worn thin with me. Every year we get totally mediocre guys held up by their metric that nobody understands or can explain besides them. QB #13 Tom Brady has looked pretty good this year, lmao. And don't forget S #2 HaHa Clinton Dix! Oh and remember, the Packers signed a top 10 corner when they got Tramon Williams!
  2. At the time, they were probably happy to get a commitment from anybody. MP was a very polarizing project. I think if the space opened today there is no way they would re-up with Friday's.
  3. I want McDaniels. I'm not sure why, but I just think he'd be a good fit with Rodgers. No arguing with his offensive rankings the last several reasons. I don't see any reason he can't replicate that with Rodgers. Just think Rodgers will like that kind of innovative coach.
  4. 98% of people are ignorant of that etiquette. MP has been an overwhelming success. Largely because it is a place to gather and party while a baseball game goes on in the background. It was deliberate and it's "worked" as far as they're concerned. I mean, seriously, there are large sections of the field level where you can't even see massive chunks of outfield. All the numerous giveaways, the pennies on the dollar ticket promos, all share the same goal of increasing in-game spend. They couldn't care less who's there, and in fact probably would prefer it not to be the purists as those people are far more likely sit down with their own water bottle and peanuts and actually watch baseball. What's always made me laugh are the people (mostly 20s and early 30s) that buy a ticket to get in and spend the ENTIRE game on the patio outside drinking. It's not just at cheap games either.
  5. I've never actually gone in but I don't eat at those kinds of places. Whenever I have to walk by it, it seems like it's full of sloppy drunks and all the people I don't want to be near when I'm with kids or watching baseball.
  6. You're not wrong, but that's just not who they market to and a place like Milwaukee can't afford to. They need soccer moms showing up in hordes to turn profits and buying overpriced plastic junk for their kids. D & B would do well there too, but I've always wished they had a restaurant unique to Milwaukee in place of the TGIF. I get why it's a TGIF, because it is much easier to scale and plop a chain type place in there, but the stadium is now 20 years old and an obvious success, so if they ever get the chance I just think it would be cool. Bombers has a big presence there now, but I've always thought they're overrated and I think the stuff they serve at MP is pretty lame.
  7. I like MP a lot. But if I could change one thing, it would be making that main restaurant something a lot better than a TGI Fridays. I have to wonder if they often regret that, or if at some point the lease expires and you can get something cooler in there. Something like a Maxie's or that quality of place would give a much more local and unique flair.
  8. I poked around via the rumor mill and some rumblings of his wife's Instagram page, and apparently, the "Mustachian Way" had nothing to do with it. But, nobody will ever be able to verify that. It sounded more like the same old tale of growing apart.
  9. Interesting note that Mr. Money Mustache publicly announced his divorce 2 days ago. http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2018/12/31/divorce/
  10. The "giving away Gennett" thing is getting really old. They gave him away for nthing because that was his value at the time. It's not like the Brewers played him a month and gave up. He was abhorrent at the end of his run in Milwaukee. Nobody saw what happened to Gennett coming. It's just one of those weird things that happens and didn't work out for us.
  11. It's pretty hard to push the narrative of holding everyone accountable and then give Rodgers the last month off because the team stinks. Rodgers is a well-paid employee of the Packers. He should be on the field when he's healthy. You can't just bench Bakhtiari, Adams, Rodgers, Alexander, Clark and anybody half decent because the playoffs are out the door. It's a terrible message to send. I think this is another case where people get a little too Madden-esque and forget about the reality aspect of all this. I don't think this has anything to do with caving to Rodgers. I would argue caving is giving him a month off, like how they let Brett Favre show up for the season on Sept 1.
  12. I got the same email and replied to it jokingly that it was too late. My rep replied saying "Shoot, I'll see what I can do" and I got a new pack on the 23rd.
  13. It's not selling low. Santana is low.
  14. Without Stallone/Rocky, I won't have much interest in other Creed films. To be honest, the actor that plays Creed is pretty blah. I just haven't found myself liking him much. On the flipside, and I felt a little guilty about these thoughts, I found myself more drawn to Drago's son than Creed. Viktor Drago has obviously led a much more interesting and painful life that Adonis Creed. His character drew more emotion out of me than Creed, and I found myself feeling genuinely sorry for him.. That is all I can say without posting spoilers, so I'll let it go at that... Whoa, I thought the first Creed was a little corny and didn't see the new one, but Michael B Jordan is a hell of an actor. He made Black Panther.
  15. I have a Spidey-obsessed 5 y/o, but Into the Spiderverse was a lot of fun.
  16. The ones you mentioned come down from the big boys via licensing agreements with MLB.
  17. Schwab is also excellent. I have an investor checking there but I looked at their portfolios recently and I would say any of those 3 are excellent. Schwab, Vanguard and Fidelity, really with Schwab and Fidelity getting the corner on Vanguard as of late. But all my money is at Vanguard and it's not quite worth moving. The checking account is awesome for travel. Nothing like just parking $800 in there and knowing I can get to it without ATM fees or foreign transactions if I'm in Europe or something.
  18. That's what I would do. Just buy S&P 500 tracking funds. The target date funds are fine, in fact I would recommend them to someone just getting their feet wet. If and when you learn more about things, you can simply look at what those funds are comprised of and buy them yourself at a lower fee. The knock is that they won't automatically rebalance to the allocation you want, but you can do that yourself. Vanguard made this easier to do recently by lowering the minimums to $3k for their admiral shares (it was $10k per fund). At Vanguard you can also see what funds are in the target date funds. I'm not sure how it works at Fidelity, but that is another high quality institution with your best interests in mind. Using a target date vs. not isn't going to cripple your retirement. But for a portfolio building for 30 years the fee associated with it can be a difference of several tens of thousands. Not something that likely matter materially, but you can see why someone active in finance would not want to just give away $30k.
  19. Rodgers takes fewer chances. When do you do that, in any facet of life? When you don't have confidence. Rodgers doesn't think this team is good enough, today, to overcome an interception. I'm not sure he's wrong. When do you lack confidence? When you lack familiarity. Time and reps will solve a lot of these issues.
  20. I'm aware of their PFF ratings and I don't really care. PFF was every fan's favorite source last year we signed "Top 10 corner" Tramon Williams this offseason. We also traded HHCD, the second best safety in the league! Tom Brady, at the time of the HHCD trade, was QB #13. While we're at it, Indecisive Aaron is QB #6 and grading "90+." Which is a bit problematic for what you are trying to say. That rating system is a new way to look at things, but it is completely flawed, especially at a position like OL that is nearly impossible to quantify. Bkahtiari may be the best LT in the league. Linsley is good. The rest of those guys have been plucked off the street, Bulaga is a Matthews on offense. That OL was a glaring problem for many critics preseason, and it came to fruition. It's bad. Rodgers may be ignoring check downs, but outside of Adams nobody is really getting open regularly. If this isn't his worst O-line, 2008 was. But this one is bad. I'm not sure how you can say "not by a long shot." Seems a little hyperbolic. Which ones were worse?
  21. There is a curve that's needed to adjust to such turnover. You saw it happen with Favre from '06 to '07 and with Rodgers first season starting from '08 to '09. I'm optimistic for a much better season in '19. If he is with the team next year and can stay healthy, I still think Allison has a future in the league. He was on his way to being a 1,000 yard guy this year through four games. Plus another year with MVS and St. Brown, one of those guys seems prime to break out. The cupboard's not bare, it just wasn't ready yet combined with some misfortune.
  22. You lost me at O-line. It's the worst one of his career. I agree that Adams is possibly the best WR he's ever had, and Jones has been terribly misused, but that line has no depth at all, and while Bakhtiari is a stud the rest are just OK. Linsley is a good player, the rest are fill-ins. Bulaga is done. Spriggs is looking like a pretty awful 2nd round pick. Stone hands Graham brings nothing to the table. Cobb can't stay on the field. Outside of Adams and Jones and the promise of MVS there is very little strength on that offense. I think there's talent, but much of it is green. And when I said worst roster I meant worst all-around. That defense isn't terrible but it's extremely green. There is basically no veteran presence on it, and it's actually amazing how well it has played with such a skeleton crew. There's no Woodson-esque or young Matthews type player on that defense. The closest thing is Kenny Clark, but he's not playing a position where you get superstar presence. There's no Khalil Mack, no Revis Island type guy on that defense. I think Alexander is a star in the making, but as of now there's no enforcer type on that defense. I suspect that's going to be their #1 mission this offseason. I don't know who's available, but my money is on them going after one of the big pass rushing names on the market.
  23. If Rodgers has slowed physically, I don't see it. He can still run, his arm looks fine to me. I haven't seen any deterioration of skills. This season, for now, I am giving a mulligan. He gets hurt in Week 1, takes a half a season to get healthy, and by then they are exposed as a mediocre to bad team. It was just a sloppy year. He's trying to overcompensate while playing hurt, simultaneously knowing that with the state of the team he has to be basically perfect for them to do anything whilst throwing to Adams and a bunch of guys. That's happened in the past, and he's wound up being basically perfect. This time he wasn't but I still think it's funny a guy throws ~25+ TDs and 2 picks and we're talking about it like he is the primary reason they aren't very good. Again, there was a time in 2014 where all the talking heads were convinced "age was catching up" to Tom Brady to the point someone asked BB in a presser when it was time to consider a QB change. That clip is on YouTube somewhere. All this stuff about his facial expressions and post-game commentary, all of the sudden he can't hit a WR, it's laughable to me IMO. It's the worst roster he's played with and people are forced to accept he's mortal. It's going to be funny when he's the same old guy next year and the media is going to credit the two weeks he spent hiking in the mountains over the summer, or how Coach X got him to "love the game again."
  24. I don't know what his issues are, but they are by nature fairly conservative, which is largely pointless for someone in their 20s. I personally don't think bonds are worth involved with until 35. I would rather take the risk with equities in my youth. My 401k was 100% equities until 35, I had a small amount of bonds in my Roth.
