  1. Hint to Barry. They are going to run it 3 times
  2. Eagles had a blatant block in the back on him as he was pushed to Hurts feet.
  3. Too early for the #3 HOF QB talk???
  4. You realize that Brad Davidson was a known flopper right? One of the main reasons the rule exists?
  5. Not sure why I didn't think of this before, but @Brock Beauchamp, when are you buying a #0 Bucks jersey? ?
  6. All Rodgers has to do is sign an amendement to his contract that reduces his yearly salaries. Now, I really doubt he would do that... but if he really wants the team to win, it surely would help.
  7. Can you please use 3 letter acronyms? These 4 letter acronyms exceed my attention span... ?
  8. 2021 OPS+ =114; 2022 OPS+ = 122 Either way, the two seasons were nearly identical and selling him at his peak was the point....
  9. Realize that I'm not talking about Beachamp's actual defensive capabilities... I'm talking about a rookie playing D on an All-Star in the playoffs... the rookie will need to be 2x as good to get the benefit of the doubt. Carter on Tatum would be better than Allen and maybe PC, but he still gives up 6" of height so there would be a lot of open jumpers. I'm not sold on Crowder over Allen, but I see how his skills fit into our mix-n-match to the opponent style. We'll have Joe Ingles coming back to be the 3pt+minimal D role that Allen fills now. Plus, you block anyone else from getting Crowder for the purpose of playing D on Giannis. ?
  10. If Crowder were a tick better at his 3ptrs it would be a no-brainer. Beauchamp is still a rookie and is up and down. I wonder how much respect officials will give him on D in the playoffs? Certainly the thought is that Crowder will be "Tucker-lite" (again if he just shot 3s a bit better...) and looking towards a Boston matchup with Tatum again. A defense of Holiday, Middleton, Crowder, Giannis, and Brooks would defend the Tatum-pick-to-the-worst-D-player offense much better than last year. In that situation, Carter is just too short and I think Beauchamp won't get many favorable calls against Tatum.
  11. A #10-14 first round pick is more than we got for Adams (#22+#53) and now he is a year older. I wouldn't do this. Not sure how that would work on our cap anyway unless Rodgers suddenly reduced his base salary to do it.
  12. Mitchell has already been up and playing (with success) so I doubt he will be back down on OD. Frelick, I'm not so sure, though I'm excited to see him play. I would suspect he is a ROY candidate at least if he is up all year. I see a lot of talk about rookies being bad the first year, but that isn't always true (mostly, but not always). I'd give Frelick: 25% chance of being worse than Renfroe (based on 2023's stats) 50% chance of matching Renfroe - trading SLG for OBP value 25% chance of exceeding Renfroe Next year, I'd give Frelick 95% chance of exceeding Renfroe's value (2024 stats).
  13. This seems to be the key. Yes, Renfroe was one of our best hitters last year, but maybe that just isn't saying much. It still blows my mind that Renfroe is on his 5th team in 5 seasons. Makes me wonder what else might be going on here too? He is going to be 31 and just had his best statistical season. And by most trade indicators...it seems like this is what he was worth. So I guess we sold high? I'm excited to see our rookie OFers come up. Who knows... maybe we will have a ROTY candidate. Frelick wouldn't surprise me.
  14. Seems like he should've been one of the pitchers in Major League! ?
  15. Well, they did trade Renfroe for Junk... there is no denying that. ?
  16. I'm not sure "phony" would be the right term. Self-promoting hype machine...yes. But I've gotten the feeling that he is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get type guy. Just a really annoying one...
  17. If I recall right, PC was the playcaller and basically ran the offense. It would be nice to open up our options and reboot the offense. Our OC position now becomes and attractive spring-board to another HC position. At a minimum, we need to do better developing our QB/WRs.
  18. If JL is actually the HC, I wonder what he will do for the OC side of things. Do you think he cleans house? Shake it up, but keep an internal candidate (i.e. Bobby Engram)?
  19. Sure the cap is going up...but so our our salary hits and numbers of FAs: Adrian Amos, Dean Lowry, Randall Cobb, Mason Crosby, Robert Tonyan, Marcedes Lewis, Allen Lazard, Jarren Reed, Elgton Jenkins, Yosh Nijman, Keisean Nixon, Johnathan Ford, Krys Barnes (plus less important: Abram, Watkins, Leavitt, Wilson) are all FAs. Aaron Jones has a cap hit of $20M (looks like $15M savings if cut), Savage has a cap hit of $7.9M (all base salary, so 100% possible savings there) For current projections, we are $1.6M over So for devil's advocate, let's cut Savage and Jones for the cap. So we would have around $21M in space (rough calculations - but should be ballpark correct). Certainly there are other things that could be done to reduce other cap hits - Bakh at $29M, Clark at $24M, Jaire at $20M. But you still need to fill: Starting RB (who is our best playmaker) Two starting safety positions (zero depth) Kicker Both of our best TEs (with zero depth) Starting RT (Tom could step in here, but Yosh has been very valuable the last two years) Starting WR (Lazard hasn't been great and injured often, but Rodger's comfort zone. WR depth - Cobb has actually been good when not injured. Starting G - Depth there, but Jenkins was one of the best before being injured Two Starting DEs - Lowry probably won't be back. Reed has been good. Have some depth here, but not for 2 starters. And sign our draft picks in that $21M cap space. Even trying to tread water and keep the talent level of this current team is going to be a challenge. Upgrading seems impossible.
  20. Antonio Brown continues to show himself a moron. Brady texts him a difficult text that still shows concern and Brown tweets it thinking he will embarrass Brady. All he did was prove Brady right.
  21. Agreed on punts, but that is very different than catching passes. Maybe he'll be a complete washout. But I'm guessing he will click better with another QB. He couldn't just get out of the other Rodger's doghouse. On a related note, Nixon looked very comfortable catching punts. Even on the one above his head, he looked in control back there far more than Rodgers ever did.
  22. I didn't see any catch issues this year. Running routes...sure, but not catching. I think the bigger part (as a WR) was being in Rodger's doghouse.
  23. Did we really like him or was he the last one and we panicked to get one? Could be one or both. Actually, it is a little too bad that they didn't just pull him from being the PR on his previous fumble (or in TC as I advocated). Not that he is going to be a great WR and AR had issues with him at WR... we a so thin, he still did provide some minimal floor. I'm going to predict that someone grabs him and he provides some modest benefit as a WR for a team. Maybe a new scheme or new QB fits him better. I am more shocked about Hill's release. He looked really good last year. No idea this year in his minimal chances, but certainly nothing "bad". Makes me wonder about other issues?
  24. Unusual yes. Unqualified no... He is obviously was coaching prior to the promo. He was very much a team leader when playing and spent a LOT of time in locker rooms and practice. As @Fear The Chorizo was getting at, sometimes that is more valuable than starting your career as a quality control assistant (or a D-II OC or whatever). Not saying he is destined for HOF as a coach, but I have to imagine he has enough experience and shown enough leadership to run the show until the EOY. Especially if the OC and DC are running their parts of the team and he just coordinates everything...that is probably less churn in the team dynamics.
