  1. Little behind the news here, but the whole BA "smoke" made me wonder how much was tied to keeping Jim Leonhard at HC?
  2. So for someone not paying attention at all to the situation in Indy and only knowing Saturday from the time he played with the Packers... What makes him unqualified to coach? Unexperienced? That I understand. Others more qualified? Yes, that I understand. But what makes him unqualified to coach? He always came off as a smart person that understood the game and provided a level of leadership in the locker room.
  3. @UpandIn Jenkins continues to miss guys laterally - even at guard. It was his major whiff on Rodgers' sack-fumble. He looks great 90% of the times, but his 10% are still whoa-bad. @GAME05, there are certain teams to always, ALWAYS root against. The Cowboys are one of them. The Cowboys with MM even more so. Not that I hate on MM, but first game back to Lambeau with his team looking great and us looking like hot garbage? Certainly have to root to win. ?
  4. Glenn Bragg was my first and still is my only autograph. I forget what year exactly, but it was my first game and I was 13 or 14 years old. I was looking for autographs and asked a couple players (got rude rejections from them). I saw Braggs in the dugout, sitting alone and asked him for an autograph. He said he needed to warm up first and ran out on the field. When he came back, a swarm of younger kids came flying in and mobbed the front row. Glenn saw me (now pushed back behind 6-7 kids) and reached over them to take his rookie card from me and signed it. So @GAME05, I don't think he is a jerk.

  6. I was hoping that playing MM would provide a bit of spark, but with so many injuries I certainly didn't expect it. I missed most of the 1st Q due to Viking OT, so I missed Watson's drops, but obviously great to see him start building some confidence. Ford - even beyond the INTs- looks decent at safety. Honestly, my favorite play was him busting in 12 yards to the ball and making the open field tackle. That is at least the second time in minimal snaps (previous game for the other one). Walker continues to look good against the pass, not so much against the run. Reed was a nice DE pickup. Our OLBs really missed Gary. Engebare still looks nice out there (and Smith), but certainly much less pressure out there today. OL starts looking a little bit better, but still needs a lot of work.
  7. Nwora has look surprisingly bad this year, IMO. Shooting sub-31% on the year. Ironically, he was supposed to be all offense, no defense with Beauchamp being the opposite. Looks like Beauchamp is better at both right now.
  8. Even if you think one or two of our WRs are going to develop and if Bakh's knee is going to be sound... you still have to deal with numerous FAs, player options, etc (listed above) along with a tightening cap. If we could simply keep this team, add draft picks and develop a year then maybe you run the team another try. But we somehow to have resign people to fill the holes...
  9. Yes, congrats GAME05! Maybe just push the cart everywhere to get your workout in. ?
  10. All the things you guys are pointing out are the main reasons that I've switched to the position of trading off Rodgers (if possible). We kept pushing off cap hits for one more shot at the SB and it didn't work. Really hard to see how we have a shot at filling out a SB level roster with all those coming holes. Time to give Rodgers another shot elsewhere and cash out for draft picks to rebuild. Holding on is only going to make the rebuild longer.
  11. Loved the Carter pickup last year and it continues to look better every day. Don't think we should expect 30-some points too often. I'm just happy to see a high 30s% 3pt rate and strong D continue. Perfect backup PG. I wonder if the Carter/Holiday combo this year is Bud's acknowledgment that not playing Carter vs Boston was a mistake?
  12. @UpandIn, no one can get the last word because you just used them all! ? On a different note, I meant to highlight McDuffie's play last week. He didn't have a ton of time, but looked very good out there. This article sums it up well (and tickled my memory): https://packerswire.usatoday.com/2022/11/08/packers-lb-isaiah-mcduffie-shines-vs-run-during-first-nfl-start/ But it also highlighted something of a concern I've had for a while with Walker. He is terrible at getting off blocks. I've noticed it for a while that once tied up, he is essentially "done", which seems like a big part of our run defense issues. But seeing the contrast between he and McDuffie in that article really shows the difference. Its like Walker doesn't see the blocker (300+lb guard) or just makes not attempt to avoid it and simply goes quietly into the block without a fight. The last play it looks like Walker is holding the edge, so that is understandable. But the others has him walled off in the middle of the field while McDuffie is dodging right around his blocker to make the play. Hope the rook gets that corrected quickly!
  13. Nearly all the ads this year in my area were promoting candidate XYZ raised your taxes! Of course, both sides could've used the exact same ad and simply changed the name. But that led me to the thought...so why do I want either of you??? Where is the candidate that won't raise my taxes? ?
  14. For a non-restaurant alternative, my family loves the Costco Detroit-style frozen pizza. Very well done for a frozen pizza. The pan it comes in gives it the crispy edges and it has very good pepperoni. But it only comes in pepperoni (hoping for a supreme myself). Probably the one frozen pizza my entire family (8 in total) likes.
  15. I think there is a higher variability in people's taste... ?. While I haven't eaten at PH for over 5 years (its ok, but we have better options IMO), one thing about these 18 pages of pizza discussion is that everyone has very different tastes. Including this crazy @Hopper person that doesn't like mushrooms! ? @AKCheesehead, that sounded great to me. Almost good enough to fly up for a visit.
  16. @GAME05, I like the idea. We ordered hoodies for our kids (though they have multiple options of tshirts and regular sweatshirts) that have Star Wars themed "Visit National Park" shirts: https://customizeaf.com/pages/search-results-page?q=star wars national park Taglines include: Tatooine: Twice the Sun, Twice the Fun Dagobah: Visit you must Mustafar: Stick to the high ground They have a lot of other stuff too more camper focused, but a variety of things.
  17. Mid-season, I was sure Wong wouldn't have gotten the the option picked up, but he looked completely different the last couple months. Hopefully that continues. Perhaps those nagging injuries he had all season were sapping him more than we thought. But even if he repeats last year, its worth the $10M. The goal is to obtain as much talent for the money you can. As for Turang, there are still plenty of ABs for him in his first year. Wong probably will sit some vs LHP, plus he could play 3B and SS at times. Or maybe even move Adames to 3B and start at SS. The old days of one player starting every day (or most) at a position is really only reserved for the stars.
  18. I think that was the critical point last year. Davison was a hot and cold shooter. If he was cold, there wasn't much else to spread the offense out. So was it Johnny stifling the offense because he was the best player or was he the only consistent player so they put it in his hands because they couldn't trust anyone else (beyond the random Chucky banked in 3ptr or Davison on a hot streak). A bit of both sides of that coin, I think.
  19. Thumbs up. Sounds like an interesting forum twist.
  20. Watching closer on the ads, it seems to be only the Sherman Williams ad and not the other footer ads. Granted, the S&W ad seems to be about 90% of what I'm seeing now.
  21. Despite being an owner, I'm not concerned by profit. ? By cap hit, I'm referring to both the amount of money Rodgers consumes on the cap and the dead money accumulated. It is highly restricting us from actually adding talent that we need. I have no issues trading Rodgers at this point, because I don't think we can construct a SB winning roster right now. Next year's cap is going to cause us to make some tough decisions on Jones, Bakh, Rodgers, whomever else. Maybe we can do the gymnastics to keep them all... but then we don't have room to adjust and fill gaps. We knew we were painting ourselves into a corner with the cap to try to extend the SB window, but this season makes it look like that window was closed. For the players you listed, I agree that some are playing injured. Some just need experience. Some is probably poor coaching. But some of them will simply bust (or just be "meh" players). I know you love your Green and Gold goggles, but not everyone you list is going to be a NFL quality player. ?
  22. First time I've noticed this. There is a SHerman Williams footer ad that reloads every 30 seconds or so. When it does, it takes the focus away from an editing window so your cursor disappears that you need to click on the edit window to continue. Painfully annoying. I'm using Chrome on a PC. It has occurred 5 times while typing this message.
  23. I watched the game last night in condensed mode (NFL Replay). The good part is you can watch a game in half the time. The bad part is that they spend precious little time on anything game critical - like injuries. I knew somethings were happening, but not the extent of them. This morning... ouch that was pretty painful Gary - ACL Watson - Concussion (Again! This is not good...) Jones - ankle injury Stokes - ankle injury Doubs - ankle injury Barnes - Concussion The season is dead... When do we see what Love can bring? I think you have to let him see some time out there don't you? I'm also worried about Watson. Back to back weeks with concussions... I know there are different levels of concussions and we tend to be more cautious now, but that still doesn't bode well for his future health.
  24. Rodgers was taken off the injury list for his thumb this week and he practices normally (if I'm recalling correctly). I'm not sure how much we can blame the thumb... I think he got back to throwing without being set or ready...and it isn't going where he wants it to go. Lots of short deep passes this year. With aging and a suffocating cap hit, I'm becoming more and more ready to move on. If that 1st round pick gives us a chance at a great QB next year...
  25. This was my big take-away. Rodgers had a few good throws, but was often off... No blaming WRs this time either. Very obvious misses today. That last sequence of throws were out quick and off his back foot...floaters to nowhere. Not sure where he was today...
