  1. I know the news articles when we signed Smith was talking about his ability to cover over run stoppage. Of course, if the Cowboys cut him and we cut him... most likely he can't anymore.
  2. I just got sling for the baseball playoffs but after the Brewers were out, I started watching the most recent DC films. I agree with the critics that DC can't seem to do heroes well, but has great villains. Aquaman and Batman vs. Superman were terrible. Wonder Woman wasn't bad, but the story never seemed to pull me in. Green Lantern was ok. Suicide Squad was very good (though I still can't stand this Joker). Justice League was pretty good and the best DC hero movie I've seen (of these recent DC comic based movies). The Christian Bale Batman series is still the best by far of any of the DC comic movies.
  3. Paul Allen? No. And I mixed up stations. I normally watch Fox9 and Paul Allen is a common guest there. But the WS was on, so I was watching CH5 (ABC?) news. Just a couple local columnists that was talking with the sports announcer. From the sports announcer's comments, it was obvious one of the columnists was swearing about the game off-air.
  4. So they just added different color stripes? [sarcasm]That is just genius level lazyness![/sarcasm] I wish they would bring back the red jersey's I think those were my favorite alternate jersey. Oh the red jerseys... *barf*. Sorry, I hated those. That color didn't make sense for a Buck except a dead Buck. I actually like these city uniforms. It is a nod back to the 80s.
  5. I would think his only chance of playing is that he was fully asymptomatic. If he had any symptoms, I'm guessing he will be out longer to allow his lungs to recover fully.
  6. It is more about the offense looking very inept during some past games. An offense that can't execute a simple passing game plan just doesn't look legit in this day and age. Personally, I don't think PC should be fired. Going with Mertz over Coan this year was a bad decision. Mertz still isn't quite ready. The offense this year (IMO) is just a reflection of not having a capable QB and a porous O-line (at least earlier in the year). PC has had too much success to simply dump him on a bad year.
  7. My experience is that firing is not easily justified unless you break one of the big rules (discrimination, assault, being drunk, etc..). Just firing someone due to poor performance, showing up late, etc... is not easy in a salaried position. Hourly might be different as I don't have as much experience there. Yes, I'd agree layoffs are often silly. But that is the main difference between a layoff and a firing. Layoffs are not about the person or their performance, but about the business. Firings are about the person and you normally need very good documented proof before firing someone (i.e. not showing up for work late once).
  8. 2 things come to mind. Isn't there bigger animal rights issues than calling what relievers warm up bullpens and if you are going to come up with a stupid cause, hire a better marketing person to come up with a better replacement name. It isn't about either. It is click-bait. Proposing a concept so out of left field (or behind it in this case) that people can't believe how silly it is and click on the link.
  9. I still don't understand how Zimmer survived last year. A defensive coach that loses his defense makes one question how he stays in his job. I predicted that the Vikings would implode this year and that the Bears would overtake them. Well, 50% right. The talking heads on Fox9-Minneapolis last night were livid. The sports announcer had to remind one of the panelists that they were on live TV, so no swearing. Best thing I watched on TV yesterday.
  10. Seems like rule 5 drafting has really dropped off in recent years too. Used to be that nearly everyone took one player and some took two. Lately, it seems more like a dozen or so players drafted. Or maybe just my perception since we used to sit higher in the ranking in the draft?
  11. Mertz did have a long string (7?) incomplete passes, so it wasn't like he was just handing the ball off the entire 2nd half. Overall, he did look better - probably because he had more time in the pocket. But he needs to learn to throw that out route. Iowa just started sitting on things over the middle and daring him to complete one going to the sidelines. I don't remember if he actually ever did.... I didn't watch the game until the 60 min summary aired on Sunday (seems like it could come out faster). I was really surprised at how well the Defense played, but Iowa literally fumbled away that game. Our offense still looks pretty poor as we can't seem to do anything but run the ball and throw to Ferguson. Looks like we will win the west, but doesn't feel like the team really deserves it (well the defense does).
  12. I normally hope for an ugly tie...
  13. Regardless of Jones vs. Dillon and who is better... swapping things up and having Dillion in there a couple of times or having both would make the defense keep guessing a bit more. Those last couple positions had the defense running our plays for us practically.
  14. The only thing I can think about with Dillon on the goal line was his fumbling issues (granted, it was the ground earlier in the game). But at a minimum the pony formation (Jones and Dillon) down there would've sure made a LOT of sense to keep the D guessing. As the Vikings are destined to miss game-winning FGs... we are destined to fail on 1yd TD runs.
  15. I said this a while back in the NFL forum, but the games I've seen Kyler Murry just doesn't seem to match the hype. He is a nice QB, but I don't see the MVP side of it. There was also a lot made about being the fastest player on the field, but I'm not sure he even had a run over 10 yards.... Honestly, he looked like a little better version of Heinicke.
  16. Can we put a lid on this Debbie Downer junk for awhile now? We could also do without going back 20 pages to rub people's noses in it. A lot of people (myself included) didn't think we were winning this.
  17. The last six games I wasn't sure exactly what we had in the Packers because we had some ugly wins against mostly poor teams. Granted, I wasn't believing the AZ hype either, but this certainly was a legit test by comparison. We still aren't quite SB-worthy...but if we can start getting healthier (Jaire, Z, Bahk), we have something...
  18. +1 to that. x10, ^2, and /0.5
  19. I was in stunned silence... Still am...
  20. I was in stunned silence...
  21. Historically... we aren't great at running the ball at the goal line.
  22. FYI... nothing new, but Joe Buck is an idiot. Aikman made the mistake of swapping Cobb and St. Brown, but corrected himself. Then Joe Buck continues color commentary about it being Cobb...
  23. Packer D is giving the Cardinals the Rodger's rate at State Farm stadium...
