  1. Well I mean if we would have held them on 4th down in the red zone It would have seemed pretty big, no? That wouldn't happen. Then they kick the FG and we go to OT.
  2. If I was the 49ers, I'd have kicked short and made us return it
  3. Yes, I scratched my head the FG... No real benefit from it.
  4. Constantly watching for them...
  5. [sarcasm]Well the refs agreed with you so you must be wrong. [/sarcasm]
  6. On every pass you have to watch for 5 sec after the incompletion...
  7. We need a nice Mertz lob outside that we can turn to a pick-6
  8. I don't think anyone debated tripping. Pretty clear on the replay.
  9. How are Myers (Ohio St) and Runyan (MI) working well together?
  10. No pass intererence on that? What do they pay those refs for???
  11. Could you imagine these refs with the 70s and 80s QB hits?
  12. Well, they tried the throw-it-deep-and-pray-for-PI offense...
  13. This is what I meant by it not being science. It isn't subjective about "moving enough". It hit the ground and moved = incomplete.
  14. I thought it was the right call. Didn’t like the outcome obviously, but when it looked like it may have popped loose, it went right back toward the receiver’s chest. The call could have gone either way. Doesn't matter if he controlled it after. Ball hit the ground and moved. Same as if it bounced off the ground.
  15. A football catch shouldn't be science. Ball hit the ground and he didn't have control of it. Incomplete...
  16. MVP to MVS! (Skipped right over MVQ and MVR)
  17. This O-line needs to learn to run up behind the RB and push. Lots of guys standing and watching...
  18. I'm still stunned that Martin was out so quickly and Summers survives.
  19. And replay after the half and it is clearly intentional grounding.
  20. I was wondering the same thing. I kept looking for the replay to see if they had a TE in blocking or something, but no one seemed to blink that the ball didn't go anywhere.
  21. Coaching vs talent is a chicken-or-egg question... but: - Mertz looks incredibly skittish during any sort of pressure and makes terrible decisions. - Mertz throws some really ugly, wobbly balls - could be coaching. - Mertz is consistently high or just off target. Certainly, technique issues going on. - That pick-6 was a terrible decision and a terrible, slow throw. Not a coaching problem. Yes, it could be some coaching issues... or it just could be that they missed badly on someone they thought was talented. Many QBs drafted in the 1st round fail and not because of coaching. Seems like we were getting the most out of other QBs that came here under PC.
  22. Yes, their DB issues looked more like communication/run-fake-bite issues rather than skill breakdowns. I don't doubt Leonard will have those resolved. I'm more curious how Mertz will look in the game. So far he hasn't looked great under pressure (not just pass rush, but big game pressure) and prime time against his former teammate is going to be pressure.
  23. [sarcasm]I appreciate that Turbo, but that only balances out Underachiever attending the game in person... Mikolas could get shelled and we still lose. Got anything else?[/sarcasm]
