  1. Sling will also have a free trial. I normally turn it on for a month (Bucks playoffs, Brewers playoffs) and turn it back off. Restarting it costs $10 for the first month. But I should try YouTube TV also... I haven't burnt that free trial.
  2. [sarcasm]Was Roco's email included?[/sarcasm]
  3. I'm looking to purchase Packer tickets for my son's 16 birthday and I'm wondering if anyone can give advice. It has been a long time since I purchase Packer tickets and I know a lot of changes have gone on. I don't want to buy scalped tickets or anything, just curious what site people generally use to do buy tickets. Thanks!
  4. A legit #1 or #2 SP? Certainly. Ace? Maybe. Funky delivery, good movement, "effectively wild" type. I don't see him quite as an ACE (top 5-10 SPs), but as a #1 SP (top 30). Depends on how well he can "control" his movement.
  5. Was just thinking the same thing, which is weird for us Braves fans because it's rarely the case for us. Which is ironic given this is the Turner Broadcasting Station.... Used to be All Braves all the time!
  6. I watched a bit of the game Saturday and he was impressive on his shot. Not sure if his D is up to snuff, but I can imagine a pretty decent role of him on the team this year.
  7. Yes, I thought that was ironic yesterday... but they do have a legacy of heartbreak missed game winning FGs. I love it.
  8. Vikings: Kicker misses game winning FG. Kicker fired. Memes produced. Mass despair. Packers: Kicker misses game winning FG (three times). Packer still win. This is way Mason Crosby is so great. He combined all the game winning FG misses into one game and still kicks the game winning FG.... Weird game! I ended up watching the game after knowing the final score (I'm not sure if I'm glad or not...) so I was saved from the highs and lows that you all went through.
  9. [sarcasm]Exactly! How can we build a WS team without high draft picks??? We keep running out scrub SPs drafted in the 4th, 11th, and a DR signee. Then close it with a 19th rounder! How can we win this way???[/sarcasm]
  10. There is a reason I'm not on Twitter. It is the cesspool of the garbage heaps we know as "social media".
  11. I tend to think the bigger Universities are worse at the fluff classes. I work with many U-MN grads that talk about taking bowling and other odd "college" classes. I took American Government, Poli-Sci, German, Business Law, Oceanography (ok, fluff), Physics of Acoustics, Creative Thinking, etc.. Creative Thinking was actually very useful. It taught about different ways people learn. One of the most valuable things I've learned is how I best learn (ironically). I often coach my team to understand how they learn. I just hired a new grad. My main criterion was finding someone that was eager to learn with a strong engineering base. My team will develop the specific skills we need.
  12. [sarcasm]Well... you did graduate from UW Engineering...[/sarcasm] (Said the MSOE BSEE; Penn State MS Eng management) For engineering, college is not meant to teach you everything... it couldn't. It is meant to give you a foundation for the company to build upon. To give you a common language and understanding of the basics before you start learning the specialization they need. Your drafter-to-engineer person sounds like they do quality work, but I'm guessing it is in a well defined area where they produce production ready information. Whereas a person without a strong engineering foundation might struggle more in a research type engineering area. Even when you hire 4-year degreed engineers, some will handle the detail-orientated development type work and others better in research-figure-it-out type work. We are just wired that way. I would counter your 3-year degree idea this way. My oldest daughter took PSEO classes in high school. Now in her second year of college, she might actually graduate in 3 years. Most of the PSEO classes she took were elective and entry level classes. In MN, PSEO is offered for free, so she basically cut off 25% of her college costs. I have a son who is a senior that is going into engineering...it will be interesting if he can do the same. I do think the rounding of those classes is important for the degree. Breadth in knowledge and thinking is nearly as important as depth (in one subject). Some of my electives have long been forgotten, but several have stuck with me and been useful through my career.
  13. Pet Peeve of mine: 1) Calling someone a GOAT is an insult in my book. Yes, I know what the acronym stands for, but it is still a goat... 2) Anyone calling Tom Silverstein the Greatest of all Time is a joke beyond comprehension. Or maybe he is just a goat?
  14. Great news on Jaire. I'd even be ok keeping him out a couple games to get healthy for the gauntlet of 4-5 games in the middle. As for Cobb, I think he fills what was missing skill-wise on the team (or at least confidence wise with Rodgers): the short route guy. Adams can do the short routes, but is much more valuable going intermediate routes. MVS and Lazard are better in intermediate-long routes (Lazard just takes some time to get going, MVS doesn't have the footwork to win early). Either they don't use their RBs for safety valve-type routes or Rodgers doesn't like using them... but when Adams is double covered and the pass rush is high, they have struggled to consistently find that guy that is open in 5-7 yards. I was happy they drafted WR-Rodgers, but helps to let him develop behind Cobb too.
  15. The world demands advanced metrics for kickers! Somewhere Ditka is crying in a corner.... . But seriously it is true that kicking at Lambeau is very different than warm weather and/or domes. I did a breakdown (somewhere on LL.net) of his misses back in the day and came to the same conclusion that his misses over 50 yds was a major reason his FGM/FGA looked so "bad" and that he had more attempts than most that year.
  16. Yeah, I couldn't figure out how Yiadom survived final cuts... he showed zilch in pre-season and shown exactly the same yesterday. Sadly, if King comes back he is an upgrade to Yiadom. Kind of curious what Jean-Charles brings, but I doubt he is the answer to our outside CB woahs. Would be nice if he pushed Sullivan though. CS looked like an up and comer two years ago, but hasn't improved at all since. I wonder if Tramon Williams is still available? (I'd like that to be in blue, but...)
  17. Noted that SJC was in at outside CB instead of Yiadom on that series too.
  18. wow... a nothing PI call and Gary has an arm wrapped around his neck but no holding.
  19. They seem to have at least one per game that you just have to scratch your head trying to understand it.
  20. [sarcasm]Trade Cobb![/sarcasm]
  21. Ben has been toast for a couple of years now. He has his glimmer games, but mostly past prime.
  22. Gary was a little lucky.. up in the air and grabbing at Ben... any higher and he'd be penalized. Funny seeing him jump over the LT though.
  23. I'm still surprised we got Boj for peanuts. Nice punt.
  24. Yiadom in at CB. Hopefully our lead is big enough.
