  1. Wow. Jeffress did return this year afterall...
  2. A few game 1 thoughts: - Love was up and down, but some good show of talent along with some nerves/rookie issues (staring down WRs)/rust. Rodgers first preseason game was much worse. - Berkhert was actually pretty impressive. Very decisive, good zip on his throws. Bad, bad decision on the INT though. - Gaines, Scott, Black, Ento, Hollman, SJC... a decent show of talent and speed from our young CBs not named Jackson. - Will Jackson even make it past the cut-down this week? Why haven't they moved him to safety? - Hill has some wiggle. Looked good even without much for holes to run. - Oline had struggles moving anyone out there. Lots of young guys and the first game, but improvement is needed. - We have little talent in our MLB backups. Burks made some good plays (and missed others), but on the whole, there wasn't much to see from our backups there. RBs were squirting through holes on us all night. Might not be terrible as Barnes/Martin/Campbell/Burks might be enough. - DL backups didn't show much either. Moving backward too often. Little pressure. - Funchess did look good, but I'll wait until he is playing first-string CBs before getting too excited. But he did look good, move well, and fit the scheme well (crossing routes).
  3. Yes, I have to agree. Given our cap constraints that was much better than I expected.
  4. Luck...yes, sort of. To some extent, you make your own luck. But there are elements completely out of the team's control - ref calls, weird ball bounces, etc... But I was speaking more of the things you can control.
  5. I'm here as well. I think the last two years of struggle is just as surprising as his breakout years. The truth is probably somewhere between the two.
  6. When we first traded for Yellich, he could've walked down the street and very few people would've recognized him. People will very soon start recognizing Adames. He is exactly the SS we hoped Arcia would become: Excellent D, Good bat, clubhouse-excitement/glue personality (the one thing Arcia did). I follow basketball and know who Paul George is, but couldn't pick him out of a lineup. He isn't that iconic of a player.
  7. Wasn't this a move Packer fans were using in complaint of how the Packers were drafting? Another WR we passed on and seeing how the Bears were aggressive in getting a WR?
  8. It will be interesting. They are as deep talent wise as any, but talent is only one third of a SB winning team. Good coaching/game-planning and team unity are the other two thirds. After this offseason, it will be interesting to see how unified we are as a team. Small chinks in the armor can derail the season.
  9. You are not as old school as you claim.
  10. I was pretty happy with the Nwora pick last year. Seemed like a player with an NBA quality skill (shooting) and good athletic upside for the rest. Very low release point on his shot, but a quick trigger. Hopefully his D will improve this year and he gets more time. Mamukelashvili reminds me of Brooks inside a bit- body type and movements.
  11. I guess Cobb can actually play WR AND be Rodger's buddy...
  12. Equipment costs go up as we have to pay for more letters on the uniforms...
  13. Fizer Forum is a big win for the perception the world has of Milwaukee. People saw 65k people standing outside and seeing a beautifully architected building along with a well thought out downtown area. Can you imagine winning and them showing the Bradley Dungeon...er Center? Downtown is so much more inviting than it was back then.
  14. Also not buying any clubhouse chemistry stuff. Rodgers hasn't had anything but public support from anybody that matters on the roster. I don't think most of them care at all about this. It is easy to be "happy" in the offseason... When the team is facing adversity or when there are in-season struggles are when it will really test the team.
  15. [sarcasm]The Cleveland Carey's sound pretty good to me... Maybe Mimi is the mascot:[/sarcasm]
  16. Did the kids notice? Or just cover yourself? "Well, now that you've seen my favorite tree right here, let's go back to the other trail..."
  17. No, I think there is only pre and post-June 1st for cap changes on a trade. I think only a hold-out and/or fines will change the cap impact now.
  18. Technically he wouldn't be 1st round talent if he is drafted in the second round, right? They certainly need to make hay with their second-round picks for depth and role players. I'm guessing we will see much more of Nwora this year.
  19. I used to live down by LaCrosse and could watch both MN and WI teams. My in-laws in NW Iowa got the same. But that changed at some point and you only get one. I would imagine the Green Bay Packer map in the 1980s would have similar issues (Vikings in North/West and Chicago in the south). But Favre and Co changed that pretty heavily. Likewise with the Brewers in the 90s and Twins/Cubs fans. The Braun/Fielder teams turned that around somewhat along with Miller Park and a consistent winning team. Likely Giannis and this championship does the same for the Bucks.
  20. Hard to say how quickly you can or should drop... The further overweight you are, the faster you can drop of course. Just be sure to be getting your liquids in. Being dehydrated can mimic weight loss, but obviously it isn't real nor healthy. My first 5-8 pounds dropped pretty quickly, but then slowed down. Reversed around Christmas, then started a slow decent to being down 13 lbs overall now. I started around 30 lbs over where I should be.
  21. What you said is all true... but its the Timberwolves... Back when Garnett was there, they had some respectable teams. Since he left, they've been a laughing stock. Jimmy Butler was right...they are soft. Marshmallow soft. Even if we could somehow acquire KAT, I'm not sure I'd want him. Living in MSP area... no one here "likes" the team. They might attend a game here and there, but not really "fans". I attended a Bucks game here in 2019 and we cheered louder.
  22. If Rodgers returns (which I think he will), I think the Packers have a very good chance again this year - maybe better than last year. Just looking at their depth charts, we don't have many holes on the team. We have positions where we will be worse than last year (center), but still have players that give us a good floor (or same floor as last year) and players that give us upside potential. Example: Kevin King and Eric Stokes. WR is improved, TE/HB is same or improved, OL is worse, but still no glaring holes, RB depth is worse, but 1st/2nd string has more upside, DL is the same, OLB is the same - better with Gary's upside, MLB is the same or better - year experience with both starters, CB is improved, Safety is about the same. K/P is the same, KR/PR will be better. ST is TBD... QB is ?
  23. Article from 2019 shows by county the preferred NBA team. WI is split with the far North and West going to the Timberwolves (which is a bit embarrassing frankly). Of course, after winning a championship, I'm sure that green/gray will change with WI being full green and maybe a bit of MN. https://www.inc.com/nick-devlin/nba-fan-map-vivid-seats-marketing-strategy.html The Bucks are certainly WI's third favorite pro team and there would be far more fans in MKE itself. But growing up in NW Wisconsin, there still are plenty of fans. Ensuring people have access to watch the games is probably a bigger issue as even seeing the games up north was rare. I don't subscribe to Bally Sports, so I'm not sure where the WI coverage happens vs the MN coverage... And I don't think there is a NBA.com option like there is for MLB.
  24. Good job holding fast! (pun intended) But I think a good key to holding to a diet (or lifestyle change in my case) is to make certain allowances for "cheating" on special occasions. If you are out for a celebration with friends and family, don't feel like you can't break a fast and feel like a heel to not partake. Personally, I plan to eat breakfast with my family on Saturday mornings (we have a bigger meal) each week. But obviously "celebrating" every night really won't work either. If your goal is to lose weight quickly, being more hardline might be needed. I'm doing it long term (i.e. lifestyle change) so if I'm going out with friends or get sick and need to break my fast on occasion, I don't feel guilty about doing it. The best diets are the ones you can live with.
  25. I'm greedy... Brewers, then Packers, then Bucks again!
