  1. What is your priority? Rarely does someone at the end of their life wish they had worked more. I'm leaning heavily toward joining a private golf club largely for the hopeful social connections, even though $250/mo ain't cheap for me. But it's somewhere I could go on whatever day I have off, even if it's just to hang out. Ultimately I'm probably stuck at my job. I pay $100/mo rent through work, and adding that benefit into my pay, I won't be finding a similar salary to make up for that elsewhere. You might not be able to make a drastic change, so look out a few years. What do you want your life to look like in 5 years? Or 10 years? Identify the changes required on how to get there and look how you can get there incrementally: - If your second job is more the goal than the first job, what would it take to make your second job your only job? Open your own "home" kitchen (I forgot what you called this) and rent out to other vendors? - If your second job is only for extra income, are there other ways to make up that income? Or is that income really necessary? Could you reduce expenses instead? - If first and second jobs are important, are there other ways to meet your personal time activity (softball, church) needs that don't conflict with those jobs? Small changes are often easier to manage than big ones.
  2. We have fun topics mostly, but often delve into tougher topics often too. And to say anonymous posters online are friends might be a stretch, we do hang out, listen, and ok at advice. Sometimes just telling someone is what you needed to do. Hope everything goes well with her recovery!

  4. Absolutely. He deserves to be paid and should be. Getting paid now is far more an indication that he wants security (i.e. in case of injury) than who will be toting the rock come week 1. Julio Jones was just traded. Doesn't mean Adams is "stuck" here if he wants out later.
  5. It all depends on the routine he is comfortable with. For some people doing it fast means you are being rushed, feeling rushed, and make mistakes. Shooting FT in Milwaukee last game, he looked very natural shooting FT in the 6-8 sec range. On the road, it seemed like he was more around 8-11 seconds and looking much less consistent. Personally, I'd have the people counting piped in over loud speakers while I practice and use that to help my cadence.
  6. Well, they aren't very strategic if they are hurting their own players.
  7. CC should've chewed the ump a new one and gotten thrown out there. That was ridiculous and he has been consistently bad.
  8. Its because they were kicked out the stands during the last game for being a little-league parent.
  9. I've used this object lesson when teaching kids priorities: - Fill a jar with rocks up to the top. Ask the kids, "Is it full?" -> They normally say yes. - Add sand to the jar so that it fills the gaps between the rocks. "Now is it full?" -> normally some hesitancy.... - Pour water to fill the jar. "Now is it full?" -> Yes, it is full (unless you want to go into chemistry and gaps btw molecules...) - Pull out another rock -> What would happen if I tried to fit the rock into the jar now? -> It will over flow - How would I get this rock in? -> Point of the Lesson: Put the rocks in first. What is your priority? Rarely does someone at the end of their life wish they had worked more. I use that object lesson as an analogy to my employees when they think I am overworking them. "See, you're not overworked, you can always fit in MORE!" Well, I mean, I did use that lesson, when I had employees. Also, those rocks really hurt! Underachiever: So how would you get this rock in... Employee: I know. Underachiever: NO! In the jar! In the j -mmebma;fmamdm;s
  10. You could also cast it onto your TV from your phone or your laptop if you have a smart TV/wireless Edit. This is probably redundant. If you have a smart TV it's probably got a YouTube app built in Getting a low-cost streaming stick (i.e. Roku, Chromecast, Firestick) is an option too.
  11. Fixed it for you! Boom! There it is! Players always push for the big payday when they can. If Adams tore his ACL this year then what? Just because he signed a contract doesn't mean he can't push for a trade [sarcasm]if Love doesn't live up to the HOF expectations[/sarcasm].
  12. I did see the age differential, which factors into the late bloomer hope. B ut I didn't see wRC+ on milb.com or baseballreference for minor league stats. I wondered about how Buffalo was to hit at compared to Nashville, but wasn't sure where to look. What site did you use? See? Now you are getting my hopes up again.
  13. They were also propped up by a really good 2016 season. Both were outliers of his norm. That is why I post averages. - 2016 OPS = 917; 2017 OPS = 628 - Those two seasons still average about 773 (nearly equal numbers of ABs in each season) - Career MiLB average: 797 (other seasons were in the 765-812 range) MiLB players that can't hit over 800OPS and don't play defensive positions (C/SS/CF) don't normally translate well to the MLB. Like I said, maybe he figured something out recently... One can hope. He was a low-cost chance.
  14. Even if he simply maintains his current 247/318/467/785 (combined for 2021), playing excellent SS, and being a team leader, he is a cornerstone. 785 OPS is top 10 for MLB SS right now. Thinking about him maintaining a 289/369/547/916 (his MKE only 2021 stats) with good D at SS is mind boggling. That would be top 3 for MLB SS - neck-and-neck with Bogaerts and behind Tatis Jr. This trade turned the season around and could possibly top the Yelich trade for impact. I could not be more impressed with Adames. Not only his play, but his leadership and team impact.
  15. Thankfully these projections are based on logic and career numbers, and not 130 rough plate appearances. Tellez has always hit. He hit in the minors. He hit as a rookie call-up in 2018. He hit (albeit not as well, although HR numbers were good) in a longer audition in 2019. He hit very well last year. You are seeing something negative that you apparently want to see with him that the numbers and projections simply don't support. I don't think a 752 OPS at AAA and under 800 in his minor league career constitutes as a "hitter". As I mentioned previously, he did well the last two years (over 1.000 OPS), but when I look at his MiLB career, I don't see a hitter profile. He does OK, but we have AAAA players hitting 900-1000 OPS at AAA, but can't hit a lick at the MLB level. Saying he has "always" hit is not correct. A late bloomer, perhaps.
  16. That defensive rating must be impacted by his play at SS. By the eyeball test, he looks pretty strong defensively at 3B.
  17. Even w/o being a 25 HR guy, he is currently ranked 10th (by OPS) among qualified 3B (I'm his numbers at SS too). That certainly plugs the hole we've had there. And at 24 years old, he has room to grow yet.
  18. If that turns out to be the case score another one for Stearns but I will believe it when I see it. I'm scratching my head over that projection too... His minor league numbers certainly don't support it: 4 years at AAA (XXXX ABs): 259/334/418/752 Career MiLB (XXXX ABs): 276/351/447/797 His last two years at AAA were above 1000 OPS (plus two small sample 2018/2019 good stints at the MLB level), so maybe the lightbulb clicked on for him recently? Low risk anyway, so why not? Plus even if he hits 750 OPS it is a win for us. Paul Goldschmidt is the 18th best 1B at 746. Jesus Aguilar is #9 at 794. 750 would put him right in the average range.

  20. I think my family was tired of me yelling, "Why can't you hit a layup?!?"
  21. [sarcasm]Dude! That's the best part! I bought a gallon of their grease just to keep the new grill flavor going![/sarcasm] Yeah, the first two cooks will be a burn-in followed by seasoning with canola oil. I'll try the toast test on my second cook to look for hot spots. The bigger question is when... of course, this week is crazy busy.
  22. At worst, the Bucks are showing they can play with the Suns.
  23. Not entirely. There were plenty of calls (i.e. reaching in, pump-fake-defender-in-the-air) that are going PHX way, but the Bucks.
