  1. Need more of that for Holiday. Need him to be aggressive on the offense.
  2. The Bucks are doing the switching, that's their choice not Phoenix. He meant Phoenix is a big pick-n-roll offense, which forces the switch. If not, they love the intermediate open 2pt shots. Pick your poison. Annnnnddd the intermediate shots start killing us...
  3. NBA version of the "flop"? Booker could have several of those.

  5. "Swarming defense" = hand on Holliday's hand (foul) to "steal" the ball. *sigh* The foul calls have been massively one sided....
  6. Camp on the beach? I doubt you will find any deals as there are few places to stay so they can charge high rates.
  7. Yeah, I understand. I've used charcoal for 20+ years; most of the time I don't mind the tinkering and kind of enjoy the "art", but other times I want to set it and forget it. Char-griller comes in Wednesday though I'm not 100% sure when I'm going to be able to fire it up...busy week!
  8. I compared Rodgers' offseason to Favre's (several) offseasons several times. There are a LOT of similarities. The first year Favre started pulling this, people panicked and thought the end was coming. Eventually people figured out it was a way to avoid mini-camps that he didn't enjoy. Rodgers has been more contentious in the offseason than Favre (i.e. there is more to it), but it wouldn't surprise me if missing minicamps was part of the plan. He was here a couple offseasons when Favre was pulling the stunt... I'm sure he learned what to do.
  9. Yeah….. he’s like Constanza trying to get fired from the Yankees. Missing team stuff, flaunting pictures of his vacation in Hawaii while others are working in camp, being sidetracked with social media stuff, hosting Jeopardy, and playing golf on national TV. I really don’t care if he does some of these things, but as a team player his focus is everywhere but getting better. [sarcasm]No worries. Rodgers has just left his car in the parking lot, so people assume he is working hard.[/sarcasm]
  10. Are you thinking of this because of cost/convenience? Seems like pellet stoves get the reputation of not having much of a smoky flavor - thought I don't know that personally. FYI, My Char-Griller 980 is on the way. Arrives next Wednesday!
  11. [sarcasm]Well, if they are trading anyone, they should check with Aaron Rodgers first![/sarcasm] I can imagine Giannis being upset if KM is traded, but he only played with Holiday this year. But then again... it might depend on who/what comes back too. I think KM and Holiday are tradeable - their contracts aren't out of whack from their value. We essentially traded for Holiday knowing we would have to sign a contract of this size and still gave up quite a bit for him. edit: Ha! You just beat me to the punch... Although, I don't think cutting a 6th WR or drafting a backup would be the same as trading Holiday or KM. That would be closer to trading Adams or Bahk...
  12. I thought I heard on the broadcast the other night that they were just sticking with the 6 man rotation for innings limiting purposes.
  13. Well, I would hope so. If we can't keep a highly-rated WI tackle prospect at the best play to play tackle in the country, then we are doing something wrong.
  14. I live in the land of purple so I'm used to people calling me spoiled. Not because I throw a fit and scream like a toddler not getting a toy when my team loses, but simply because my team has had a long series of success. Ironically, I used to take loses much worse back in the 90s (before the 1996 SB) when the Packers continually lost playoff games in Dallas (i.e. don't talk to me about it for days). So in reality, getting called "spoiled" by other fandoms is generally more a sign of jealousy on them than anything I do or say.
  15. I'm with you. People on planes talking way to loud on their phone is the worst of these offenders. People ten rows away don't really care to know when you arrive and how grandma is doing. Worse yet... doing it on speaker phone in public.
  16. I would say you need to know yourself. If you grammer good, then maybe hire someone. . But that probably isn't why you are missing any call-backs on jobs either. A couple thoughts: 1) Call the HR department of the company of one job you missed and ask. Just tell them you are looking for feedback. Sometimes you resume just came in late or got "lost" in the system - not all recruiters are good. 2) Write a resume and cover letter for each job. That takes some time and effort, but I can normally tell as a hiring manager when someone looked at my company and figured out what we do, then wrote their resume. When I get two resumes and one is specific to our company and the other has a purpose statement like, "I want a job in engineering", I'll take the specific one every. single. time. 3) Knock on the door. I had one guy show up one day with his resume. I was called by the front desk to come meet the guy. Ultimately, it was a terrible idea to hire the guy (for other reasons), but he got a "free" 5 min discussion with me and made a good first impression. Kind of odd this day and age and some companies might not like it. But you can probably always apologize you're way out if they don't like your initiative. BTW, if there are any embedded software engineers out there looking for a job, please let me know. I'm hiring.
  17. Well, as soon as I can find one, I'll be buying a Char-Griller 980 - charcoal gravity smoker. Kind of like a Traeger, but not wood pellets. I finally wore down my wife for the $600 price tag. Last night on the news, they were talking about the company selling trips to space (20 miles up) on a 6 hour trip for $125k. I said that would be really cool... she said, "I'd rather you buy the smoker". So boom, done deal! . Unfortunately, the company has been having some issues getting them in stock, so I either buy it sight-unseen or wait. But reviews have been really good, so I might just pull the trigger.
  18. You should go to a Cecil Cooper autograph session and tell him that story. Gumby game me the exact same response once. Glenn Braggs did too, but then actually returned to sign autographs. As he came, a hord of kids came running. He purposefully reached around a couple to take my card and sign it, since i had asked. I don't really blame the guys because the autograph hounds would drive me nuts if I were them. And is mainly why I stopped seeking autographs. For Coop, I have to admit, 1987 was my first real year in following baseball closely. I didn't know his history, but he had such a bad year, I was glad they stopped playing him. Once I knew his history, it is really too bad. A decent year from Coop and they probably play the Twins in the playoffs that year.
  19. Why settle for just a buckeye when you can have the whole Bucky?
  20. Someone will probably rotate down today just because too many of them are done for a couple days after going 2 innings. But I'd think Cousins showed enough promise last night to avoid it. Unfortunately, I did not see him pitch last night, so I'm mining data from savant this morning: Sinker - 97 MPH!, Drops 20 in, moves left 16in Slider - 85 MPH, drops 37 in, moves right 7 in Threw one "changeup", but I'm thinking it was a sinker that just didn't get much velocity. Interesting left-right pitching profile with his two main pitches moving opposite directions. Pitches out of the zone a lot, which teams might learn to exploit. With heavy downward motion on both pitches, if contact is made, he should tend to have a lot of ground balls (which is what the one ball in play last night did). Small sample, but certainly an arm talent to watch.
  21. Frankly, Richards hasn't been bad either; An improvement on Rasmussen (this year at least).
  22. That seems premature for a 26-year-old...
  23. One player over .240 And not much for reinforcements either. Not long ago, I was checking the milb teams and the AAA club had a starting lineup of Huira and the rest (pitcher included) as milb FAs and waiver claims. Brutal.
  24. Personally, you only fire someone for being incompetent, not because one person in your organization doesn't like another person and/or can't get along. Maybe Murphy (possibly) or Gute (little doubtful) deserve it on their own merit, but that has to be clear and not because a player called them out. I don't care how good Rodgers is, that just leaves a bad legacy.
