That seems plausible. There was an obvious "Mears moment" in the last game where Ashby left 2 guys on base with 1 out and they brought in Patrick instead. Might've tipped the hat that he isn't quite right for the moment.

One of the keys to our offense will be taking walks and forcing the SPs out early in the game. If LA can't get 5-6 IP from their starters, we gain a huge advantage on their BP. The difference (IMO) between Chicago and LA will be the temperatures. I don't think our team (or at least several key members) don't play well in colder temps. I say that mainly based on our early season performance. For example, Chourio has two MLB years and both springs have been pretty poor for him.

A trade deadline CB would be interesting. Not sure what quality would be available, but someone over Valentine and able to challenge Hobbs as the starter would be nice. I swear Valentine has gotten worse each year. He still make big plays, but then gets burnt on the next. Nixon is fine - an average starting CB, but an upgrade on the other side would be nice. Perhaps Hobbs improves as he get acclimated to the system (lost a lot of time due to injury), but depth is still needed. On DT, I thought Brinson played pretty well last week. Wooden and Wyatt have been surprisingly strong. Brooks has been up and down. Would like to see Brinson for a week or two more before saying it is a need. But even if he is strong, replacing Stackhouse wouldn't be a bad idea. For trade outs, I think Enegbare would be a good choice. You have both Barryn and Cox that can fill the fourth DE. Maybe a player-for-player swap would be possible?
