  1. Just heard on the radio that Carlos Delfino does not know when he'll be back, but when he returns he will be wearing a helmet. That will be AWESOME.
  2. Melvin told Peterson to feel free to shop himself around. I don't see that as a good sign for his return.
  3. I've heard from some Cub fan co-workers that Sandberg will be bench coach with the Cubs.
  4. Randolph and Sveum are not being considered because Doug wants to go outside the organization. I can't argue with that. If Randolph had the magic answers, why was he hiding them from Ken?
  5. I guess this is the most recent thread about cable/satellite stuff.. not sure if it's a blessing or a curse, but DISH network has dropped the regional Fox Sports networks (as well as FX) in a fee dispute. I went to watch the Brewers game Friday night and could not find it. Thought it was very odd, finally scrolled past the "regular" FSN (Minnesota) channel in the Guide and saw a message from DISH urging me to call Fox to tell them I want my channel back. Naturally, Fox is running ads telling people to call DISH and demand what they paid for. With the season now over I'm not sure this will get much steam until basketball season begins.
  6. I'll probably end up at House/EV3NT on Mondays (recorded Event but haven't watched it yet) Glee on Tuesdays Modern Family on Wednesdays Fringe/30Rock/Office on Thursday Medium (wife's fave)/Good Guys on Fridays Amazing Race on Sundays I might give Arnett's show a chance too, but I didn't record the premiere.
  7. Haudricourt is mystified by Mr. Gomez' comments, as well.
  8. Hal Lanier: .228/.255/.275 in 3,940 PA, OPS+ 49 Walked only 136 times in his career and 25 of those were intentional.
  9. Just announced on 1250AM as well.
  10. And what do they have left in money to pay Prince?
  11. LaRussa has used two pitchers at once, one in the outfield, to get a lefty in to face one batter, with the righty returning to the mound after that batter. I think some others have done it as well.
  12. I love this show as well, though I'm a couple weeks behind in my viewing (mostly because my wife hates it).
  13. Now they're saying the Lee-to-NY talks have hit a snag.
  14. Estrada decided he was injured only after the team tried to send him back to Nashville.
  15. FWIW, The Sporting News seems to think Hart to the Padres makes a lot of sense also (listing Hart as the Padres' primary target in their Buyer/Seller chart).
  16. Sparky (1250AM-WSSP) is babbling on about some rumor that if the Brewers play well this weekend against St. Louis, and the owner is convinced that things could turn around, the Brewers could get involved in the Cliff Lee talks. They speculated Gomez/Parra/Gamel for Lee.
  17. For what it's worth, Sparky said on WSSP that although the Twitter thing was bogus, he's heard some other things today that there may still be some legs to that rumor.
  18. Jamil Wilson transfers to MU; DJ Newbill given release. Link
  19. Belling said on his show this afternoon that his sources tell him Hayward is the pick if he is available.
  20. I know a guy who is a Laker fan and therefore pays a lot more attention to the West than I do; he claims Maggette is a "more than decent" perimeter defender. Most of the guys on the radio seem to think he's a selfish player on offense.
  21. Maggette took only 50 3-pt shots last season and shot over 51% overall, I don't think that's inefficient.
  22. 8/29/2002 - Mark Bellhorn becomes first NL player to homer from both sides of the plate in same inning. (done only one other time, by Carlos Baerga in 1993) I also saw Greg Maddux' 299th and 301st win, so on average I saw his 300th.
