  1. 4-5 months for a pitcher from an ACL is not unreasonable.
  2. Would have been nice to have him with the Woodruff injury. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Most analytical studies will say the best hitter should hit second. A poorer hitter should be third. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I am no pitching mechanic expert, but to me it looks like he is over throwing trying to blow by people even his slider. He has lost command several times on 0-2 counts. Its not easy when its a mental hurdle to tell yourself to slow down. I struggle every time I golf with that
  5. This completely makes sense and it worked great last year. Problem is this year the bullpen is not near as good or reliable as last year. Now you have to make a choice or rolling with an Anderson who is pitching decently or going with several bullpen guys who have not been consistently effective from Albers Burnes Guerra Claudio Freddy even JJ. That is what the struggle is this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I think facing the Cubs was the top of their list. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I think Fangraph’s projections are heavily based on run differential. Brewers have seemed to outperform that metric the last few years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Too early to judge Hiura’s defense with that metric. Also I am not sure it accounts for shifting well enough either Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Starting Grandal at first was telling to me. I think its time to have a conversation with Aguilar about him agreeing to get at bats in AAA. Can they send him to AAA on the MLB contract if he agrees to doing it? Or would he still be exposed to waivers? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Is there any service time manipulation reasons for this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. His year is already preserved. Its really about money with super 2. I will bet you the new CBA will change that anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Nelson has to be shut down or called up after 30 days. I dont believe Brewers would option him. Not even sure he could be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Exactly my thought. Hook looks a lot smarter facing the Mets/Nats current lineups. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Who knows if super two will exist after the new CBA. I have a feeling a lot of that is going to change.
  15. Personally wouldn’t expect Keston to be Babe Ruth, but the right hitting lineup is struggling against lefty starters. Cubs have 3 in a row. I am just suggesting its a prime opportunity. I understand the reasons arguing against it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You could option Freddy or Smith depending on how tomorrow goes. Bring up Hiura for the weekend. Send Keston down Monday and activate Wilkerson. I think a 40 man move would be needed? Cant remember if he is on the 40 man yet? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I agree with you on Shaw. He is a quality .800+ OPS hitter. Its more Aguilar/Perez/ and even Braun a little until recently. The right handed hitters haven't produced against left handed starters this year to expectations. I was being somewhat sarcastic, but I think a quality right handed bat against those three starters would help. You could always option him down after for super 2 reasons.
  18. How about calling him up this weekend? I think Brewers are facing all 3 Cub lefty starters.
  19. As of right now a 3 WAR season would be hard for me to predict. That being said the only info I have is what has been reported. That is not always accurate. Really is a wait and see situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I just want to say this about the discussion. I am a shoulder expert sports medicine trained orthopedic surgeon and huge Brewer fan for my whole life. Nelson's tear was in the front and not the typical SLAP tear. Bottom line is there is little evidence to predict how it will go for him. I have done literature searches and there is no reports in the sports medicine journals for return to sports at a MLB level. This is simply because not many pitchers have had this procedure done. I guess what I am trying to say is I dont think the surgeon who did the surgery or the Brewers medical staff really know. Its frustrating I know. Its gonna have to be a wait and see approach and even if he pitches in April and May something could flair up in June. This will not be linear. There will be setbacks which won't necessarily mean its doomsday. To expect him to pitch at the 2017 level off the bat might be aggressive, certainly could be attainable by mid-season in my opinion.
  21. This move also adds depth. In case of injury the lineup will still be very solid. The Brewers 40 man is very solid. I think it is a great move.
  22. Couldnt they put him on a 30 day rehab to start the year? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I cant read the thread either, but Shaw could easily be the 1b from 2020-2023. If Erceg is good enough with the bat his defense is suppose to be good at 3b. Thames will be gone and who knows if Aguilar is .825-.850 OPS guy. 2019 will hopefully tell us that. If we were to sign Lowrie or Marwin Gonzalez to a multi-year deal that might change the approach. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Can Lowrie or Marwin Gonzalez play a decent SS? If Arcia falters again I am not sure Dubon or Perez are players that can take is to the promise land. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I am wondering if Sterns and his staff really like the Harvard pitcher. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
