  1. A couple of double for the Bandits extends the lead - first double was sinking drive to CF, and Lara tried but couldn't get it and knocked it down to prevent a 3B/HR. Down to the last few hitters. Let's see if Wisconsin can get some hits, or will go quietly like their A ball partners. Areinamo Wood Chirinos
  2. Simple pop up to 1st base. Rally ended. Still 3-6, TRats down. They had the right guys up and did make some noise. But not enough hits tonight.
  3. Lara walks, Barrios base hit. O'Rae deep to left, but just not enough strength, and warning track fly. 2 down. So close. C'mon TRats. Lets go... Adams up
  4. Wisconsin has the right guys up in the 8th .... Dotson, then back to the top with Lara (who hasn't been hitless since May) but is hitless tonight, then Barrios also hitless tongiht.
  5. EV 105 for Wilken. Confirmed homer. Clarke with a HR 10-1!!! Wow, When Biloxi gets H, they are the Shuckers. When the bats go silent they are just Suckers.
  6. IN Biloxi walks, stolen bases, and a funky hit by Warren, and Shuckers up 5-1. Boeve walks to load the bases. Meanwhile in Wisconsin and Carolin only 2 hits each. Carolina loses 6-0. Wisconsin down 6-3
  7. Letson another homer. He went 60 pitches. STruck out 6 in 3 IP. BUt 2 HR leading to 4 runs. Looked good, but caught too much of the plate on a few offerings.
  8. Yeah Rodriguez with 2 solid May outings. Fingers crossed that he is now adjusting to AAA. And Letson continues to rebound from his first 2 batters tonight. Vargas with a HR, but bats overall pretty quiet.
  9. The offense tonight is mostly non-existent throughout the minors. 9 hits across 20 innings so far. Yikes Pitching OK. Herrera settled in it appears, and Wichrowski has had a rebound from his first start (so far). Knoth decent, and Letson did bounce back from the single, HR to start his outing to end the 5th with 2Ks.
  10. Carson Benge, Cam Smith could be there as well. Vance Honeycutt is a toolsy player but his hit tool is being questioned from what I have read. They usually don't take pitchers in classical Round 1, meaning non-competitive balance/non-comp pick (Ethan Small was the last one, and prior to that it was 2014 when they took Kodi Medeiros).
  11. Nice to hear on Pratt i got to this forum late and not I’m not watching live tonight just Gameday updates.
  12. Yessir. 2 runs in. Nice hitting Baez. Diaz pops out to end it. But Cats up 9-8
  13. Pratt with 4 walks!! Incredible. Baez ready to drive in some runs
  14. No go for Yo. But Pratt is at bat Let’s go ‘Cats
  15. Maldonado is struggling. He and Polancic - when I see them enter it’s just a sixth sense as “I see runs scoring” sadly. Root - nice to hear he is touching high 90s. i always have to look at his name again. We drafted a Jaden Noot a 6’ 3” HS RHP in the ‘22 draft (same draft as Maldonado) but didn’t sign him. But we did sign RHP Bayden Root - an 6’ 3” UDFA out of college though, I believe last year or in ‘22?? Seems like it fills some odd quota 😂
  16. Back to the pitching lab. Take the innings he has had this year and try to figure out what works, and hone it.
  17. Amen. Get Yoho up. Hunt to high A. Let the Smith brothers roll in Biloxi 😃
  18. Ok. I’ve watched only a couple of games and several highlights - so with that disclaimer I thought he looked effectively wild. Will overmatch young hitters. I am likely to be wrong- that’s why I spend most evenings here (since I rediscovered bf.net) to see highlights, watch games or gameday/box score updates and hear from you all. This is the most excited I’ve been about the minors since 2001-2005 years.
  19. Agree on Yoho. From what little I watched of Manfredi I like his delivery and his stuff looks solid. Hunt is interesting his stuff looks nasty too but control could be his issue maybe why he’s still at low A?
  20. Tayden Hall first high A ball hit. 😀 And @Joseph Zarr - agree on relievers, Yoho and Hunt are tops on my radar. With Manfredi next (starter vs reliever) but nice to see Kuener and Austin do well. plus Wichrowski who I don’t put in that group due to younger age and the fact he’s at AA already. Imagine if Yoho or Manfredi move up to AA. 3-5 of 2023 picks at AA or higher by seasons end.
  21. Turang is interesting case. Murphy was very high on him and he came out the gates firing. Now I don’t expect him to ops over .800. But even .700 with a .260-.280 BA with his defense and speed will be a solid 2B and #7-9 hitter on most clubs. Good value, but such young age and the hope he can average offensively with club control for ? 4-5 more years makes him much less expendable in the system the Brewer use to construct the roster. I don’t think Perkins fetches as much given his age - teams will value 25-and-under since the peak years are usually ages 24-29 for most players. His defense makes him an awesome 4-5 OF and if he has sustained offense then that’s a plus. If you get a good return for him sure, but I doubt a team values him that much. Peguero has value and could be traded if we are not in a division title hunt. Bullpen is Ok with Williams (assuming he is not traded next) and Megill/Hudson/Payamps. There are several arms who could replace him in the next few years. Not immediately this year or next but potential is there to replace a BP arm if trade needs to happen to get a SP or maybe a OF or corner IF bat.
  22. The older college pitchers from last year are doing nicely. Manfredi, Austin, Kuener, Yoho, and I throw Hunt in that mix as a UDFA. Now they are all definitely older for the league they are in, but they are first year professional nonetheless. I hope they develop and rise up the system, this would be a fun group to see succeed together in the big leagues someday/
  23. And giving up Avina who is playing nicely in high A. Not saying he will amount to more but could have traded higher on a guy like him who came on in the second half. They also gave up on a 18 yo Venezuelan OF who is nothing more than a lottery ticket. But a 20-30 ranked prospect, and a lottery ticket should get you more than a back up 1B who is a LHH off the bench. This is one of the few probable losing trades the team has made. (Trade Losses - the subject of A post I will put up sometime in the near future )
  24. Nice to see a solid outing from Smith. He was a great story and I loved watching Seth’s interview with him Shane just loves baseball and he seems like a good guy to root for.
