  1. What about Cornielle. Since his rough April, he has had 9 starts, almost 49 IP, and only 8 ER, and only 28 hits. With a K:BB of 41:18. Can cut down on the walks a bit, but that’s quite a run.
  2. Aquino with a 4 inning save. Shutout combo with Cornielle/Aquino and yes some Ks in tha game ; 11K by the two of them to only 2BB.
  3. Would love the big boys in Milwaukee. But not likely. Ugh
  4. Adams take the bat off his shoulder and what do you know-a single up the middle.
  5. Yeager 3 up and 3 down. Shuckers with a big come back win. Hopefully that’s a theme tonight - comeback wins for the good guys.
  6. Final Mudcats win it on a high fly ball to LF. ORae with a walk but Rodriguez with a solid liner but to the OF. Shuckers on to the 9th now up 5-4. Let's see who gets to close it out for biloxi. Aquino allows two hits trying to keep it scoreless. Let’s get that 3rd out of the 8th and yes a K. 4-0 heading to bottom 8. Solid pitching by TRats (Cornielle for 5, Aquino for 3).
  7. And base hit by Scott - it’s 5-4 shuckers now. Still no one out, and Sparks up. Pitching change for Chattanooga Meanwhile Maldonado on to try to close it out for Mudcats. And is the Cincinnati Arizona complex stadium just like great American - it’s 5-3 after one 😳
  8. Good news Biloxi has gotten a run back. Two on, none out, down 4-3 in the 9th, wild pitch, but no one runs fortunately as the ball came right back to the catch. Phew
  9. Oh great. Just what we needed i guess that’ll help with the 40 man roster crunch 🙄
  10. Tyler Bryant - gives up 2 hits and the. Walks the bases loaded. But gets the K to strand it. Still 2-1 Mudcats Nashville has the bases loaded. Black strikes out. Oof. 0-0. Hall is out for inning #3.
  11. Cornielle is out after 5. Aquino is in and gets 2 outs quickly
  12. DL Hall labors through 2 IP. I mean 5 of 6 outs are K. 2BB and 2H, took 51 pitches to get through 2 innings. Is tha MLB ready? Maybe bullpen ready?
  13. Wow. Don’t see that often. Adam’s 0-3 with 3K. Not his night
  14. Huge hit by Areinamo. Breaks the game open - caught at third but 4-0 TRats.
  15. And Y. Garcia walks, steals and advances to 3rd on an error. Norman big double. Mudcats up 2-1.
  16. So Castillo singles. Advances to 3rd on an error pick off attempt, and then wild pitch. 1-1 muddies tie up.
  17. 5 complete for young Alexander Cornielle, 6K, 2BB, 2H. Nice start for him
  18. To answer my own question. YES and 6 IP, 79 pitches, 7K. This will be an outing I will watch later. So impressive for this young man. Wow
  19. No hitter broken. Yay. Yophery. but alas nothing comes of it. Will Rodriguez pitch a 6th inning?
  20. Great review. Most were lower round players that either scouts saw something to take a flyer on, or the fell due to signability (although was that as much of a thing in the 70s-90s?) The ones that hurt - Alex Fernandez who could have been a true ace for the team in the 90s. And Nomar as a 5th rounder - he would have hit well in the late 90s with Cirillo, Jaha, Vaughn etc. I do remember hoping that Pence and Rodin would have been signed but sounded like they weren’t going to give the draft position, but Crotchet I knew nothing about really until last year.
  21. I secretly hold out for Brecht. Well I guess it’s not a secret anymore.
  22. I think Lara will be selling low. He is the same age as Pratt and one level above. His defense is legit. He has speed and good bat to balls skills and is “slumping” the past 2 months. He would be a major sell low. And I am a big fan of his game. His defense and running game may be the best of our OF prospects. No power (yet) but he could (yes could) develop more power as a 20-22 year old. So if it were up to me, I’d pass on trading him unless a great trade, so therefore by definition I would not list him as a player to sell. Black - I agree. He is blocked and is a mlb hitter so will be valued by teams needing a LF/1B/DH. So likely to sell on him EBJ - sure but he won’t get much. Is he rule 5 eligible this year? Probably next. So no need to push him if that’s the case. So we can trade him, just not sure there is value to sell. Blalock - agree. ‘Not sure which Carlos Rodriguez. CDRod has limited options and will be passed by Lara/Yophery and a 2024 draft pick. CFRod the pitcher, again selling low. He is just 22 and can pitch. But I won’t not opposed to him in a deal, just not on my list of players “to sell” since it would be selling lowish. Boeve/Mitchell/Frelick - agree one is absolutely expendable in the right trade, but wouldn’t go out of my way to sell them now since they are controllable for many years and appear to be able to hit (Frelick/Mitchell are just below average at MLB level currently with room to improve; Boeve is league average at AA already). So would not “sell”them, but definitely include one in a trade.
  23. Luis Pena in a "slump" (sarcasm) - he is only 4 for his last 15 in this month, and his BA is way below .500. He even has been overtaken by Jesus Made for the lead in OPS. SHocking.
  24. Bradley Blalock could be on this list. He has value but is on the 40 man roster, and may be bypassed by several AA arms (Misiorowski, Henderson for sure, and maybe even Wichrowski and Shane Smith), and could be an attractive piece for another organization, and will allow that 40 man designation to go to another player.
  25. Corobo - I am excited to follow him, he was the catcher compared to (yes understanding a lot of hyperbole at signing time) a young J Quero. But if he has defensive skills and can hit - that could mean our catching WOAH SOLVD 😉 Tovar - second year in the DSl - good to see him hit well and should be state side next year. And Lafond was a late signing (or a January signing that was announced and assigned late maybe?) so didn’t start DsL season on time but so far so good. Ereu - hopefully he can get on track. But Yophery and DiTuri already in low A is a big deal - I think one of 5 of the “top 50” international players (not including those 20+ at time of signing) who are in A ball. Impressive for a single class already. Ereu was the other big name, so talent is there still rooting for this young kid.
