    Middendorf in. Sounds up 3-1. Rodriguez night complete. Encouraging start. I’m not watching so can’t report on his velocity or command, but something worked or clicked tonight. I hope for more of this with Mr. Rodriguez.

    Ouch. Heal up. Down on the farm…. Considering how good Norfolk is, they have had their way with Nashville this series. CF Rod is doing well thru 5 IP. 1ER, 1H. 1BB, 9K!!! At 93 pitches, so not sure if he goes out for the 6th.

    Yerlin Rodriguez asked for a 2 inning "save" in Wisconsin. 2 run HR. now Polancic is in - and I worry the lead could fade. But alas despite another run coming across (courtesy of Noah Miller of course), T Rats hold on for a 6-3 win.

    I’ve thought Eduarqui up given age and performance as well. T Hall or Nicosia could move up at some point too. but someone needs to be released or moved to season IL to start adding players to Carolina or Wisconsin. Also just realized as I typed this that our two A clubs are state names (well sort of with a silent “north” in North Carolina - as opposed to towns/cities/counties.)

    Have a day Zebulon Nine. Good pitching and the hitters get stats boosts. T Rats getting runs thru and so far good pitching thru 7 with Y Herrera debut. Biloxi rallying in game 2. Nadhville meh, getting runs, but not a good debut for Woessner.

    Hicklen and Collin’s are making the most of the opportunity to play at AAA for another organization, and Milwaukee has been adept at finding these players who can play at AAA and could be injury fill in for the bigs if needed. Hall is a good bat with surprisingly little power for HR given his size. But he and Wood continuing with some success this year can really help boost the stock of the ‘22 draft. Baez has also been a hitting machine. Look forward to the pitching picks for April.

    Uribe has been the biggest disappointment this year by far. A few players are playing below expectations, but Uribe was gifted a golden opportunity to take reigns of the bullpen with Williams out but has lost his dominant fastball (or changed from what I’ve read here) and is now hittable, Plus his inexperience leads to melt downs when there are runners (bloop hits or the self inflicted walks) or like Saturday when a bad call means he has to get 4 outs in an inning. Then last night. Oof. He will get suspended for several games. Should be demoted. ‘just maybe maybe he can learn maturity or how to control emotions better like another reliever who is now a stud and let some youthful energy / immaturity cause him to slip up and punch a wall resulting in a fracture right before the biggest October of his life.

    This is awesome and I was just compiling a list like this as well. First of all - the A/A+ clubs are so incredibly young, and some are doing well, and others who are struggling are very young for the league (yes, like Adams who I was dogging, who is holding is own as a barely 20 yo in high A). It would be cool to monitor this once a month to see who is staying consistently good, and who either sadly had a hot start and tailed off, or those with a slow start who really come around later in the year.

    I think the list of mid season promotions may not be that high. Very few are forcing it yet - T. Hall is one who should be moved, and Boeve just was promoted. On the pitching side - I also think that a lot (Misio, Woessner, Blalock, Wichrowski) will stay where they are as they build up innings, and Wichrowski is in his first full season. Like Logan Henderson last year, even if they are doing well they may stay put to keep building up innings and refine the approach. I think the older (for their level) relief pitchers (Yoho, Hunt) for sure. Hitters I see T Hall, and possibly E. Fernandez and M Wood as candidate given age and production so far. And Guilarte could move up with his cohorts (Areinamo and Barrios).

    Misiorowski started well. No hits, 1 walk, but 2 WP that gave up a run. 6 K in 3.2 IP. Offense still sleeping. 9 hits, but only 2 runs and 12Ks. 2-2 in the 9th

    Fair enough. Maybe it was last years start to the season that I am comparing to. And the fact that he did have a slower end to last year. But for a guy who is likely only going to be 1B/DH in the future, his hitting will have to propel him up. Forgot about the nagging injury, so here's hoping he can turn it on this year. Chirinos has not been good. And also as far as 1B Ernesto looked like a legit prospect but appears to be scuffling as well.

    This has been a disappointing start for Adams. He always had a lot of swing and miss, and not a high BA guy, but would hope for power and OBP skills. So far very little. Hall is older and is hitting consistently although no HRs, which is so surprising given his size/frame.

    I think that given the timeframe and type of surgery, Ashby is likely to never pitch as he did before. The rates of pitchers undergoing labrum surgery with returns was small and he has done that. Those who return same or better than prior, may be a few cases overall. I guess, with him now see if he has anything he can do that works, and run with it. Maybe he can learn a pitch or two that he controls enough to be a reliever. I guess keep pitching him to see if that clicks. Maybe that's the plan. IDK?

    Can anyone give me a quick refresher on what the Development List is about/for?? Sorry, I remember reading about it, but I can't recall why some players are placed on this and what it means for them in the big picture.

    Memories yes, seems like only a few years ago. And teams in Beloit, and Helena. I’ve been watching minor league scoreboards since 1997 - Stockton ports, and the double Helena/Ogden years. I am so thankful I came back to find BF.com (wasn’t it BF.net back in the day). The in game threads are awesome and the write ups amazing. This is hopefully another golden time for the minors like 2002-2008, but with a good MLB club this time to root for as well. And winning minor league clubs with plenty of prospects to cheer on and follow, even with the litany of injuries. Exciting to see some break out stars this year. Thanks Mass, Damuelle, JosephZarr for getting these going. And all the various folks who also watch the games and chime in. So cool!!

    Given that these players being released are still very young or had some promising stats at some levels, and seeing how some players are given more time in the organization despite age/stats, there is more to developments and releases than just the stats or pure talent I assume. I won't even speculate, but it would be a great question if anyone had the opportunity to interview someone from Brewers Player Development. From lack of progression, to tools that the organization may not see as vital to the teams goals, to even the mundane as personal decisions they make or don't make.

    The recovery is likely for both. It’s the experience and development time lost. some prospects never achieve their potential after lost developmental time. Hopefully quick recovery for both Pratt and Wilkes and on to more development and experience this season.

    Could AAA be a obstacle in Rodriguez progression. Let's hope it is more a learning curve and he can start to make adjustments, and not a sign of things to come. A lot of outside reports on him tend to see 4/5 SP upside, and not the mid-rotation starter we all dream on given the recent success of the organization. And Knoth/Wichrowski/Letson with good starts, how about that as a start to the careers of some of that 2023 draft pitching class.

    The Brewers have a lot depth all over the infield now. 1B(Martinez, Adams, Chirinos, Hall), 2B (Arenaimo, ORae, Baez), 3B (Boeve, Guilarte), 1B/3B (Black, Wilken) and alittle bit at SS (Brown, Pratt, Barrios). Even still there is OF depth in the bigs/AAA, along with Lara and Yophery. And finally C is covered by Contreras right now, and praying for Quero to recover next year.

    Ooof. Don’t speak too soon. Carolina not looking great late 10-2 laugher is now 10-7 heading to 9th.
