  1. Ok. So it is confirmation bias for me. Thanks for correcting me on that.
  2. But Ryan Birchard. He was dominant for 7 innings. Just phenomenal tonight. 8 K, a single walk, no hits and no runs. Awesome job Ryan!
  3. Welp. I mean best chance to keep the no-hitter going was Yerlin. But he was not the best chance of winning it though. Strikes out the first man with beautiful 97 mph heat. Then a walk and could not locate. Then grooves one and the first hit by River Bandit ends the no-hitter and the shutout. Now Yerlin has to figure out how not to blow the lead. This guy is tantalizing - 97 mph heat, and a very nice slider. But 20-30 grade command.
  4. And Ryan Birchard is out. Yerlin is in. Ok let’s see how this goes. 😬
  5. Nashville clinging to a 5-1 lead. And it’s not Craig Yoho’s night. I don’t know if he had a bad inning at all last year.. He has still been good, just not elite this season.
  6. Wichrowski navigates it by getting old friend Gregory Barriosto ground into a 6-4-3 DP. Didn’t watch it but nice job Brett who is now Through 6 innings now. Still trailing 6-1. Shuckers up bottom 6.
  7. Wichrowski in trouble again. Runners 2nd/3rd and one out. He can be a decent reliever in short stints. He doesn’t have the overall command or secondary offerings to be a consistent starter. With shorter stints I could see him upping his velocity and becoming more of a K. Just my thoughts as he struggles a little here and there. He now walks the bases loaded. and in Wisconsin Luke Adams doubles, then moves to third on a grounder and scores on a wild pitch. 3– TRats
  8. Two more strike outs to end the top of the 7th inning. Birchard’s career night continues. 8 K, and only 1 baserunner. Still at 83 pitches, it will be interesting to see if he comes out in the 8th and is allowed to go to 90 or so pitches? It would be great for the offense to get a few insurance runs….
  9. Adamczewski grounds to second and no chance of beating it out. Still T-Rats up 2-0 Birchard with a career high 6 IP. Good chance he will pitch in the 7th.
  10. Two great at bats by Fischer and Made. Both get down 0-2 and watch some balls and fight off good pitches, Fischer walks, then (Made spoiled 2 great pitches) Made hits to middle and fielded on a couple of hops but Made beats it out. Runners at the corners for Adamczewski. Lets go Josh!
  11. Home run off Wichrowski. He gets through 4 innings with only the 1 single Open The 5th with a walk and the a HR. 3-1 Biscuits now.
  12. Agree no news. Either an injury, or limiting innings given he was a northeast HS pitcher and this is likely more pitching he has done in past couple of summers maybe?
  13. T-Rats up 2-0. Birchard having the finest outing of his career. 6 IP, only 73 pitches. 6 K! And only 1 walk.
  14. Luke Adams! Wow just love to see that guy back. 108 mph liner to left scores Made and Adamczewski. Alright!
  15. Shuckers manufacture a run. Double on a defensive swing down first base line by Vargas (who was hugged by former teammate Areinamo). Then he takes off and a grounder to second is out 1, but Vargas to third Then a fly ball, and Vargas scores. Boeve pops out to end the inning. 1 hit = 1 run. Shuckers seemingly playing the past week or two like the ‘24 Biloxi team.
  16. No comeback for the Muddies. Only 3 hits. Dorchies big hiccup 5-run 2nd inning, but he went 5 innings still and 8 K. A lot to work with there. Let’s hope he can stay healthy and make big step forward next season. Mudcats lose 6-2.
  17. An error and a hit. Then a soft grounder. And a passed ball and Montgomery scores a run against Wichrowski. Shuckers bats still so so quiet. 😞
  18. Yeah Bitonti has been lost at the plate for 2 months now. After a great June where he looked like the prospect we dream on, he has been struggling mightily and striking out a ton. Big holes in that swing, and hoping Brenton DelChiaro can help him close some of those holes this offseason. The power potential is real, but you have to make contact first before you can hit with power, otherwise you are a fan (both figuratively and literally get it 😉)
  19. Ugh. Oh no I was excited with the first inning report, and now it sounds like a blow out against Carolina. Yikes With the way the day is going, I may not have it in me to watch the minors tonight. I guess I'm ready for August to be over - minors have had ups and down, and the big club has gone elation to frustration again.
  20. Only difference is Mitchell actually performed quite well when he was healthy. Outside of that end of '23 and amazing start to '24 Boeve has not had very much production. Hopefully he recovers well and gets back to the early '24 form. This is why you draft/sign for depth. You need 3-4 prospects at a position to get one who will fulfill that role.
  21. And Lara just missed a double (or triple given his speed) as the grounder is like an inch off 3rd base line. The next pitch he hits right at Gregory Barrios who tosses to Areinamo and he throws to first to get the fast Lara. End of inning. Dang it. TRats down 9-4 heading to bottom of 9. Shuckers squander some great chances in extras. And Brewers lose a 1-run game (they still play the bad teams poorly this year, I mean they win but just not enough). Rough evening with the Mudcats win the sole highlight so far.
  22. And the rails appear to be coming off in Wisconsin as it’s 8-4 Quad Cities with some infield hits and a force out and an error. I suspect some challenging defense by the TRats. Will try to watch that inning later - or wait for someone else to put some context to this inning. Was it defense, or all on Rund?
  23. Wilken a fifth strike out. Yikes. It’s 2024 Brock Wilken tonight. 😞
  24. Another K. On to the 11th Meanwhile in Wisconsin its bases loaded and only 1 out with bases full of River Bandits on the top of 9. Uh oh
  25. Infield in and Pratt leaps but only knocks it down. And the runner at third scores. 2-2 tie again. The runner is on due to throwing error by Pratt. Dang only one out and winning runner on base. The lack of extra insurance runs in the top of 10 will haunt them now. OK a K and it’s 2 outs. Let’s keep it tied please
