  1. Wilson walks it off - literally. Bases loaded on 2 walks, then Kyle Jones (Edit: wrong draft pick) gounds to second baseman and out at home, then Ortuno walks in the winning run. Hayden Robinson and Thomas Conrad with good outings. Ortuno, Encarnacion and Mills with multi-hit games. Mills seems to be more of a contributor on offense it seems recently, I will have to look at his trend and splits.
  2. Nashville wins 9-1. Nice pitching line by Coleman Crow who went 6.2 IP on 94 pitches, which is good to see him pitch deep. Naylor and Black with multi-hit games (Both of Naylor's were HRs, in case you were confused like I was of the double posts of Naylor HR video above). Wilson in extras. Biloxi was up 4-1 in the 1st on Wood's GS, but pitching again failing and they are now down 8-4
  3. Wilson won big. Antunez, Ebel and Ibarguen with 2 hits each, with Antunez hitting HR #6. Bonet 5 IP and just the 3 runs allowed in those first 2 innings. Broughton with 4 scoreless innings. thats the good news. Wisconsin shut out. Knoth 2 ER in 5.2 innings, 93 pitches so good sign he is pitching this deep.
  4. After a difficult start, Jarret Bonet has done well. Gave up 3 runs in the first 2 innings. Walked in a run allowed 2 singles and 2 walks in the 1st. Then walk and double in the 2nd. So 3 walks, 3 hits allowed before getting an out in the 2nd. But since 1 hit since that double in the 2nd. And the offense is alive with the Warbirds scoring 9 runs and counting in the bottom of 5 in Wilson
  5. Owens made a pitch to the 3rd batter of the inning. And after pitching looked uncomfortable after the pitch, then walked around the mound and then a long mound visit. He was squeezing his hand, and eventually walked off, not sure it was not an obvious "oh he hurt his arm bad" look
  6. So not sure what happened, I will try to watch later. But Owens gets the first 2 hitters out, then Injury Delay, and Peyton Nicksch is now pitching for Biloxi. The Biloxi pitching issues of late have been pretty depressing to watch, and now maybe Owens gone. yikes
  7. So there is something to work with here?? I was assuming the trade was for McCullers, but he was used to fill a few innings then quickly released, so I imagine they saw something with him, so maybe
  8. Well the DSL Brew Blue Crew beat the DSL Padres. So we will get that win in the bigs in 5-6 years from now 😉 Seriously though. The past couple of weeks since the trade deadline have been challenging - losing a few prospects for what may not be an upgrade (especially the Rockies trade ugh). Seems like a cool down for Fischer, Payne, Adamczewski, and still few pitching breakthroughs.
  9. at one point this looked like a transformative draft. Frelick was the surefire CF/RF of the future, Black was a top prospect, Rodriguez was a likely 4th/5ht SP, and Henderson was middle relief and possible middle rotation starter about 2+ years ago. Frelick is now a MLB starter and likely 4th OF as a defensive specialist, Black will be traded or DFA, and Rodriguez was DFA and likely will move on. Henderson is now the jewel of the draft. And I did not have Tristan Peters as being the 3rd best from this draft class

  11. Renz hit his likely pitch limit and on,y goes 3.2. Better after he gave up 3 in the first. Only 2 walks, 2 hits and 1 more ER after the 1st inning. Corniel pitching well against Beloit. Sproat has not had a good AAA re-introduction- 6 ER on 8 H and 2BB thru 4 IP. Yikes. Here’s hoping they were just saying “throw X” to work on things. If not. Just worrisome.
  12. Renz spotted a 2-0 lead in the 1st. But goes walk, WP, HBP, walk and single. And it’s 2-2 with no out. Let’s Renz that inning away and get back on track. Sproat continues where he left off sadly and gives up a 2-out HR in the 1st. 2-out hits have seemed to be his undoing.
  13. Well it is fitting that the guys who 'replaced' Anderson in the bullpen blew the tie game last night, while Anderson was the only AAA pitcher to give up runs. Well maybe not "fitting" but frustrating I guess. Oh yikes, yeah that explains the title of today's MILB Game Thread. Hope Quinton is OK. While he is probably not feeling great, I will breath the sigh of relief it was not an arm injury.
  14. Yeli is being outperformed by our two 21 year old rookies, nd almost by David Hamilton. If not for Ortiz I think Yeli would be the biggest drain in the line up. ‘however his 2018-2019 basically helped cement this team where they are now. Not sure the organization finds its traction and becomes what they are now without him carrying them those 2 year.
  15. Good news I guess. No walk off against Biloxi 🙄. As it was just a normal 4-2 loss T-Rats up big behind Pena and Dickinson and Tayden Hall Nashville up 5-0. Wichrowski went 2 innings only - so keep an eye on that Seppings in and so far 3,1 shutout innings.
  16. Watched Broughton’s start. He looked really good tonight. Good command. His one blemish was in the 2nd inning was a swing bunt single up the first base line, a dribbler into the hole between 2nd/1st, then a bloop single. One hard hit single then a DP and a line out. 1st a hit, but 3rd-5th innings 3 up 3 down
  17. Wilson shut out. Offense only mustered 3 hits. Broughton 5 IP, 2 ER, 0 BB! And 5 K
  18. While Rickey Moneys was hitting XBH, Mr. Matos had the typical 0-0 day with 2 RBi 😳 - sac fly and a bases loaded walk (1 of 2 walks today).
  19. I have had the same thoughts at time, but Braun was much better contact and didn't have the K issues. But the pitching is a lot different than 20 years ago too. I try not to think of that comparison, since I don't want to set those expectations - as reaching Braun status is such a high bar. But from a dominant hitter, who could breeze up the minors and has defensive challenges that may move him elsewhere, yup agree
  20. Crow and Owen’s with strong starts. And Dubanewicz and Healy with solid relief outings.
  21. Garcia 1 out away walks the bases loaded, and a 2-run single. Another walk off against the Shuckers
  22. Andrew Healy with a very nice 5 innings of relief. Came in with a 4-4 tie, Wilson hitter get 4 runs (Antunez and Mills as noted above @Tedaldtada). ‘Healy gives up no runs. Tidy 8-4 win for the warbirds
  23. well the minor league news thread of the title jinx was halted for a day @Jim Goulart 😉, as the T-Rats did in fact win in their quest for Wisconsin supremacy. But two walk off losses last night .... rough. On to tonight again!
  24. OK, biedergb jinx. Need 3 more outs to get a win ... 🤨... well they only get 1. Cruz in and gives up single, walk, single, single. then pop out to CF. Then single to right and it's a 4-3 loss. Ugh
  25. Well maybe Ragsdale was the glue or special sauce for Fischer and Burke. Seriously, as hot as those 2 with Ragsdale had been, the two remaining have cooled off a bit. I mean that's expected, Burke was never going to a HR everyday. But that's baseball ... with ebbs and flows. Billoxi is up 3-1 key hits by Dinges, Made and Burke (his only hit with 2K). DeBerry with a "berry" solid line. Gotta get 3 more outs here fellas.
