  1. If he goes all-out to the ball, he catches it without leaving his feet. Easily. It looked to me like he misjudged it. While that's a mistake, it's hardly unforgivable.
  2. Because McClung is only available for long duty, and it's already the sixth inning. Duh. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. Exactly why on Earth is Hart even thinking of stealing in that situation? So Backe can walk Kendall and face the pitcher? This team is capable of so many amazingly stupid things. Nice to see they take after their manager.
  4. It's a WMLW game, check channel 680.
  5. Dude, Hardy's only 3-for-8 with a .545 OBP lifetime against Backe. Why should he play?
  6. Here are the lineups for the 6 p.m. game: Brewers 2B Ray Durham SS Craig Counsell LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder RF Corey Hart 3B Bill Hall CF Mike Cameron C Jason Kendall RHP Dave Bush Astros 2B Kaz Matsui SS Miguel Tejada 1B Lance Berkman LF Carlos Lee 3B Geoff Blum RF Hunter Pence CF Michael Bourn C Humberto Quintero RP Brandon Backe

  8. I don't, and I don't think I care that much. Tomorrow marks two weeks since this team's last loss. They have to be allowed to drop one here and there.
  9. I don't know, a couple of those fastballs looked like they had some movement on them. Maybe it was just my TV. That's two breaks from the incompetent boob at second base. Berkman was safe. Weeks is an idiot, but he got away with his mistake this time.
  10. I knew we should have re-signed Linebrink. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. Good to see our smart, intelligent, savvy veteran catcher just gave Houston the lead. And now Riske is getting squeezed because he can't control the fastball. Lovely.
  12. Simple rookie mistake by Kendall, who was just trying to make a play. Problem: Jason Kendall is far from a rookie. He should have known better.
  13. 8 pitches, 0 H, 2 K. Can't ask for a much better start than that.
  14. I love how Coshun just did the "CUBS LOSE" exclamation. I figured I was the only dork that did that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  15. Sure, but most people don't watch the whole game. Similarly, most people don't listen to the whole game on radio. They tune in for a while and probably tune it out because they were listening in the car and arrived at their destination or for many, many other reasons. That's why radio announcers are trained to understand that you can't give the score of the game often enough. If someone tunes in, and they only have five minutes, they'd better hear the score in those five minutes or they're going to be mad. And while we all watch the games from start to finish a lot of the time, there are many viewers who don't do that. For them, something we've heard before is a fresh and interesting piece of information.
  16. I generally like Brian. Yeah, he makes some mistakes during games, but so do all the other guys who are charged with calling 162 games a year (outside of Vin Scully, who is still the gold standard by which all others should be measured). After watching other broadcasts during the EI free preview, I'm certain we have a top-five pair in all of baseball. A tad annoying at times, yes, but still better than most of the teams out there.
  17. As long as the vigilante justice doesn't lead to a broken hand for one of our hitters, I'm with you.
  18. Amen! I loved it, and I'm not normally all about that stuff. The Cardinals had it coming, as they pose and hotshot as much as anyone.
  19. We're playing with house money. Not going to leave two dozen runners on base over two games very often. But if it doesn't go well, I'll take a 6-1 trip.
  20. It's a good thing he did. Ned was a little slow to the gun on that one. That said, he nailed it. The ump was completely out of line, made the wrong call, and should be the one thrown out of the game for utter incompetence and power-tripping.
  21. A rare moment where Ned actually got thrown out of the game at a time where he needed to do that. He argued a (bleep) call from a ego-driven umpire. Absolutely ridiculous. It's as if there is no supervision of these clowns with how they act on the field.
  22. Let Torres finish the ninth, then move him to left field. Have Gagne start the tenth, but have Torres come back to pitch after Gagne allows a scorching double to left center. Torres finishes the game. He gets the win and the save. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  23. The fact that both those plays went down as hits shows that the official scorer in St. Louis is high.
  24. Rickie giveth, and Rickie taketh away. And if you think Ray Durham is going to fix that problem, you're out of your mind.
