Yeah, this isn't going to end well for us. That's fine. I conceded this one when the matchups came out. Win tomorrow and set Sheets up for the series win Sunday.
I'm sure this question has been asked before, but where do you guys stand on the Twins? The TV guys always try to build up this rivalry, but it's always struck me as being more friendly than any other my teams are active participants in. I think this is especially true since we went to the National League.
I'd much prefer that the first blown save come in a game where Torres starts with a one-run lead in the TOP of the ninth. This is too stressful. Apparently, this pitching staff can't just let Bush pitch well.
I'm surprised that Ned went with Carlos this early. It's not a bad move at all, because he's probably the best level chance we have at staying in this thing. It's just surprising that Ned would do something that makes sense.
I'm writing and doing some research, so I admittedly didn't pay attention. Someone's up, but I haven't caught a name. I did see Counsell just about give us the lead. That would be two home runs in a week, and I'm pretty sure that would necessitate a drug test.
Suppan had a bad night. I've come around a bit on him, though. Normally, he does a good job keeping the ball down, and even when that means he walks a few guys, it rarely becomes disastrous. Liz is absolutely hittable.
He got hit pretty hard, which will happen when a pitcher who relies on pinpoint control can't control the baseball. Not a ton of walks comparatively speaking, but a lot of line drives.
I used to use him in HR Derby all the time on MLB 2005 (EA game). He was awesome. He hit the longest home runs, and he was by far the best derby guy I could find.
The Twins are well-schooled in the fundamentals because they are preached and practiced by the coaching staff from Day One of spring training. And they are a coachable bunch who listen. They have their bad days, but by and large, Gardenhire is light years ahead of Yost when it comes to teaching and managing the game.
Yost blames Hart's error on the grass. Really. Oh, and Mota was okay to pitch two innings in back-to-back games (day game after a night game at that), but he needed a second straight day off. Ack.
