  1. The media is Ned's middle-man to communicate with the 35,000+ that the Brewers are averaging per game, among other people. I don't want to hear him call out specific players unless he feels he has to, but I also don't want to hear him make excuse after excuse for poor performances. The comment about the Red Sox making errors is right up there. There's nothing wrong with saying "We have to improve our defensive play if we're ever going to turn this around". Instead, I get an excuse about how the Red Sox make mistakes, too. That's bunk, and I feel I deserve better from him. When even I can see the problem, and I don't hear the manager address it, it does tend to upset me a bit. Oh, well. We can certainly agree to disagree. I do see your point.
  2. I don't need to or want to know the team's shower schedule, but I do think the fans deserve a better answer than "He's a good pitcher and he threw a great game", "He had a bad night. Everyone has a bad night.", or "Well, the Red Sox make a bunch of errors, too" from the manager when he's pressed with a reasonable question. That said, I have seen what I perceive to be improvement in Ned's performance this year. He is still dumber than the proverbial fifth-grader when it comes to handling the bullpen, but maybe he can get better there. Soon. Please.
  3. Well, they got 10 now. Has Dunn's home run landed yet?
  4. Guillermo Mota is still on the team. That is enough to make me want to vent right about now.
  5. Everyone has a weakness, no matter the walk of life. Ned's stubbornness is likely to kill this team long before it ever helps this team.
  6. Why not? He kept Ned's sorry around after he cracked under pressure late last season and led the way for a teamwide meltdown.
  7. The 40-IQ moron who "manages" this team still thinks Guillermo Goata can pitch and is generally incapable of managing his sock drawer, much less a major-league bullpen. You'd think, Brian, that a pretty intelligent guy like yourself would have already figured this out after over a year of seeing it first-hand and having to spend time interviewing said manager. But I'll chalk up the utter stupidity of this question to general frustration over what you know, instead of ignorance of the situation. Good to see JJ back to JJ form. You know, hitting popups and swinging at dreadful pitches.
  8. You can keep your word. They're not on TV tomorrow.
  9. Our bullpen ERA is less than half a run worse than the Cubs. The "bad bullpen" stuff is getting old. The bullpen is fine, but it's managed by a certified lunatic who doesn't understand much of anything.
  10. Hey, Ned. Wasn't that 500-foot home run enough damage? You freaking idiot. Same for Greenie Boy in center. Played that like a Little Leaguer. I expect a rookie to not be aware of a game situation, not a seasoned veteran.
  11. Thanks for nothing, Goata. Shoulda known that pitch to Holliday was too good to be true.
  12. Can someone explain our inability to hit Glendon Rusch? I know that Ned will just talk up Rusch after the game, so I can't count on him to say anything profound. Ideas?
  13. You're asking a lot of the coaching staff, Russ. You should know better than that. It would be akin to expecting someone to convince our hitters to take the ball the other way when it's consistently on the outer half.
  14. Did Russell Branyan get cut? I mean, sure Hall got a hit, but this isn't exactly the time for a training session on how to hit righties.
  15. Exactly why any sane person will continue to pick the Cubs to win this division. And many sane people will come around and pick St. Louis to win the Wild Card. This team is pathetic offensively when they aren't hitting home runs, and you can't rely on those in October when the air gets appreciably colder in a place like, oh, say, Chicago.
  16. Teams kick away two of three home games against horse(bleep) pitchers all the time. Didn't you know that? You have no right to be critical of this team.
  17. If Harden's nursing a problem, then why did the Cubs trade for him? As much as I hate the Cubs, I do respect Jim Hendry. He's not an idiot.
  18. I don't know why we're bothering to play this game tonight. Chris Singleton says the Cubs are going to run away with the Central because they got Rich Harden. I'm not sure how he's going to help them do that when his arm falls off in two months, but that's what the dude said.
  19. Turn your TVs back on. Get out of your car and run back to your seat. This may just get interesting after all.
  20. Hey, look. The outside corner pitches are strikes now. Big shock from this piece of trash behind the plate. Oh, sorry. I'm complaining again. Man, that was a great call.
  21. Oh, yes. That's why I've complained endlessly about Braun, Hardy, Hart, and the Sabathia trade. I secretly hate this team, and I hope they lose every night. My goal? 60-102. Go Rockies.
  22. Anyone kept count on the number of pitches right down the middle - between thigh and belt high - that we've taken in this game? Perhaps that's a part of the problem.
