  1. 1 - So we have more bad defensive players coming? Just what we need. 2 - So we're still cheap. Great. 3 - Cameron sucks. I'm not worried about his feelings. I want to win. Kendall has been okay. I'm fine with him sticking around, even though he's not much of a hitter.
  2. The fact that Tavarez wasn't sharp THE PREVIOUS INNING should have trumped the fact that Mota hasn't been sharp lately. Tavarez couldn't even get through the bottom half of the Twins' bad order. How was he going to get through Mauer and Morneau?
  3. You mean you shouldn't worry about the 20th inning before the 12th inning is over?
  4. You got five weeks to turn this around, morons. If you don't, you become the afterthought you've been in this state for the last 26 years.
  5. Maybe I'm just not smart enough, and I admittedly don't follow the minor leagues really at all, but if these guys are so good, why aren't they on the team right now? It's not like this team is flawless or not at all in the need of help.
  6. And our defense kept us in these games, too. Well, except for the 25 unearned runs the Twins scored. On the bright side, the run in the ninth was the impetus for getting Branyan in the game, because there's no way Yost makes that move in a tie game.
  7. Then why are they on the team? That's why I said the GM needs to be shown the door, too. The window of opportunity will close by no later than 2009 for this group, and we can't afford to blow seasons. We already blew one because the manager is an idiot, and now we're going to blow one because the manager is an idiot and the GM doesn't know how to fill a major-league roster.
  8. This is a pathetic baseball team. Absolutely fitting given that they are managed by a guy who makes bone-headed doofuses look intelligent and articulate.
  9. If Ned were any dumber, he'd come out of the dugout half the time with his jersey or pants on backwards. Or inside out.
  10. Tavarez really did a man-up job there. I tip my cap that I'm not wearing.
  11. These two teams always seem to have a couple doozies out of the six every year.
  12. I think it's time to try someone else. None of those four pitches were close, and we shouldn't be pitching Matt Macri like he's Barry Bonds.
  13. If Julian Tavarez is truly our best option in this situation, then it's official: Melvin needs to go with Yost.
  14. No, it wasn't. It hit the padding and stayed in the park. They got it right. Let it go. Perhaps if Mike Cameron were capable of not looking like a little leaguer at the plate, we would have won.
  15. I think that was a good call. COME ON CAMERON.
  16. August 1 can't come soon enough. I thought that hit the yellow. Hard to tell. Cameron gets a hit and it doesn't matter.
  17. That's two blown squeeze plays this year. I suppose this one's all on Sveum somehow, because nothing is ever Ned's fault or a player's fault. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  18. Prince couldn't have thrown that ball any more effectively than that. Sweet.
  19. I know we all complain about Weeks, but he could play second base one-legged and have better range than Dillon.
  20. The thing that drives me nuts about Ned is his tendency to argue for certain matchups with statistics ONLY when those statistics back up what he wants to do. For example...the right thing to do tonight, based on matchups, would be to sit Branyan against the lefty and play Dillon at 2B, Hall at 3B (as much as I don't want that). This is especially true if Hardy's out again, because that will put Counsell in the lineup. Branyan has never ever ever ever ever hit lefties with any consistency and should never be counted on to do so. But nothing Ned does would surprise me. The only way, however, that he backs up his decision with any statistical evidence is if he does what I described above. Otherwise, he's just playing a hunch with Branyan out there.
  21. Or maybe it's just time to admit that Bill Hall is a dreadfully bad defensive player with little hope for measurable, meaningful improvement. You don't have to say that, Ned, but adding to the heap of excuses doesn't help.
  22. Actually, a mound visit would have been a great idea before the Casilla at-bat. It has to be a shot to your confidence when you're a young pitcher, you make a good pitch, and the guy gets on base by dropping a swinging bunt down the third-base line. Dillard tried to make a perfect pitch to Casilla, and the slap-hitting infielder ripped one darn near 400 feet.
