  1. "Hello, bullpen. Is there anyone out there who would like to pitch?"
  2. Dude's throwing 86. And we're making it look like the Ryan Express. Hey, look. Braun's 0-2 again. Is he capable of taking a pitch out of the zone?
  3. With this team, it'll do. Shoot, at least we won't get no-hit by this psychotic soft-tosser.
  4. I sit corrected. Ned got tossed. Thank God. We have a real manager now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. Where the hell was Yost the, oh, fifth time the ump said "That's it"? Freaking idiot. Don't wait for your center fielder to get tossed before you get mad.
  6. This has happened for years. Skaalen skated last year because Fielder hit 50 and Braun was on fire from the second he arrived.
  7. Phil Garner just did it three years ago in Houston. Just sayin'. It hardly ever happens because the majority of teams that replace their managers during the season are bad. If this team is actually bad, more than Yost should get fired. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. Sure, and in this case, at least a goodly portion of that gap can be made up by taking into account a horrible defense that could probably make vintage Dennis Eckersley look like the closing version of Fausto Carmona. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. We can use all the metrics we want, but this much is clear: If Weeks makes the throw to first on the double-play ball in the Cardinal game, and the first-base umpire correctly calls Blom out Sunday, we're not having this discussion right now. And neither of those things are Gagne's fault.
  10. It's not about this call. It's about the next one. When Gagne started getting squeezed, Yost could have thrown himself on his sword to try to get the next call. That was insane today. Gagne threw well enough to get the job done, and he got insanely squeezed and outright jobbed on that call at first base. We were getting the bounces in the first half of last season. Maybe this is a good sign for the summer.
  11. Don't worry. I'm sure we can count on Hall here.
  12. This would require Ned Yost to note such a pattern. You have a better chance of getting Simon Cowell to button his shirt.
  13. On the bright side, we learned that Ned wouldn't tolerate a pitcher giving up four straight home runs. That's refreshing information.
  14. Just stand there and look stupid, Ned. It's what you do best. Idiot.
  15. Ugh. Did someone tell Villy it was the sixth inning?
  16. Pretty obvious that Ned left Suppan in because he's due up in the third inning. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. For all Ned's faults, I'll never criticize the guy for being gutless...or for too quickly giving up on a player. That doesn't seem to be a problem. Turnbow really stepped up last night and came through. I hope that's a jolt of confidence for him.
  18. No pitcher should throw Ryan Braun a strike until he starts showing some plate discipline. Aargh.
  19. This has been a problem for years. Why would anyone be surprised? We may be the worst fundamental team in the division right now. We don't take pitches or work counts, we don't move runners, we run into outs, we blow easy defensive plays, and our bullpen management is about third-grade level.
  20. I wish Kendall would get run. Not because it would be good for the Brewers, but because I want to see what Yost would do to fill the holes defensively. Comical.
  21. Way to take a terrible pitch, Kendall. Well, except that it was hittable and should have been swung at. Just blame the shadows. Yeah, that's it.
  22. Of course, Turnbow wouldn't have been in that position had we not run ourselves into more outs in the seventh and eighth innings. We have to lead the league in the number of outs made at home plate, especially when it comes time to run the contact play while the infield is in.
  23. Shouse's arm fell off this morning. Mitch Stetter has denied responsibility.
