  1. The second first rounder was to Boston. That's actually one of the picks they are got back. The trade is now official. Kevin Garnett is now a Celtic.
  2. I have never posted at those boards and never will. After coming here for a number of years I have been spoiled. Call me a snob, but I prefer intelligent, civilized discussion without stupid AOL speak and cursing. In other words, Brewerfan staff and mods: keep up the good work. And thanks.
  3. My mother had breast cancer a few years ago. My mother was in good spirits and never got too down but talking with survivors definitely helped. Many hospitals either have a support group or know of one. She should get involved with that. It will give her someone to talk to and cry with that knows exactly what she is going through. And get in touch with the American Cancer Society. They have programs that can help. They also can get you in touch with support groups.
  4. I agree. Pujols will get over this and things will be smoothed over between and him LaRussa but Pujols has a right to be upset. I personally think it was bad managing not having Pujols pinch hit in the 9th.
  5. Anybody notice he has Braun retiring in 2022 at age 38 and then has him coming out of retirement 7 years later in 2029 at age 39?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Cryogenics. He freezes himself so he can miss the Angels rebuilding phase and then they thaw him out when they are ready to contend for a championship again.
  6. John Sickels did a Crystal Ball on Ryan Braun over at his site. This Crystal Ball is quite optimistic. link
  7. Wow. He was the one player I never thought would use. He was just too bad a hitter to be using. Apparently he needed help to be even that.
  8. He has plenty of leverage. How much money do you think the Chinese government has? They can pay him whatever they want to "sit out" a year. It won't matter if he "sits out" a year. The Bucks have his rights indefinitely. He can sit out for 10 years and they will still control his rights. That's NBA rules. If he ever wants to play in the NBA he will have to deal with the Bucks.
  9. Yi can request a trade all he wants. It won't matter. He has no leverage. It will just make him look bad to the fans. I actually like the pick. He has a lot of upside. If we do end up trading him we better got a very good player in return. I like the Sessions pick. I think he's going to be a contributor. I was hoping we would take him if he was still around. He needs help boosting his confidence and needs some coaching but I like his upside. He could be a good backup for us in a year or two. It is now imperative we resign Mo Williams. Give him what he wants. He likes playing here and is turning into a very nice player.
  10. (I thought I read somewhere about some strange text messages sent Sunday or something) PWtorch found Benoit sent strange text messages to his people in WWE throughout this past weekend. They were like, goodbye and farewell type of messages. I too am utterly shocked Benoit would do something like this. While talking about this with my friend last night we thought it was probably good that Kevin Sullivan was not nearby or he might be dead too. Benoit is one of only a few wrestlers to hold both the WWE and WCW titles. He wasn't great on the mike but he was one of the best workers ever. His Owen Hart tribute match with Brett Hart and his Brian Pillman Memorial match with Regal were great. Same with his matches with Angle, Booker T, Rock, Raven, the late Eddie Guerrero and quite a few more.
  11. The Expos ended up dealing Colon later, for 2 promising pitchers, 1 of them was Tomo Ohka, who was fairly productive for them. They got Ohka from the Urbina trade not the Colon trade.
  12. I have to go with Smashing Pumpkins here.
  13. Jonathan White will probably take more to sign. He's a draft eligible sophomore and can play for two more seasons at Vandy if he wants. edit: Ijames will probably also need more to sign.
  14. No. They went to different schools. Braun went to Miami. LaPorta went to Florida.
  15. You've got to be kidding me. The guy was drafted in the 14th round last year. He didn't up his stock that much. Plus he doesn't have a position. He's like Aubrey Huff in that instead of a natural position he has a least unnatural position.
  16. I'm hoping for either Porcello or Heyward. I like both.
  17. American Ninja 4: The Annihilation. I watch this every time it's on. It's bad. The first American Ninja was pretty entertaining even if it was pretty bad itself. After that each sequel got progressively worse. And no actual annihilating takes place in AN4. During my brother's junior year of high school his English teacher asked him to use the word annihilation in a sentence. My brother wrote on the board, "Last night I watched American Ninja 4: The Annihilation." His teacher got a good laugh out of it.
  18. If it was Ben, Jack could have went to the funeral as a way of saying, "You were right. We weren't supposed to leave." I assume Ben's daughter stayed on the island with her mother. It's the only home those kids have ever known.
  19. I found it interesting Charlie basically killed himself. He had an out. He could have left the room and closed the door and both he and Desmond would have survived but he didn't. He stayed inside and closed the door. Of course, if the door could only have been closed from the inside then he had to die but I don't recall them ever establishing that.
  20. Jayson Williams Jayson is 38. He's the former Nets player. He's not a PG. He was a Forward. You're thinking of Jay Williams the former Bull.
  21. I think you read that trade wrong. We send Chuck and the sixth pick to the Hawks for the 3rd overall pick. Then we draft Horford at #3. Horford has Bucks ties (his father played for the Bucks) so he would be a logical fit.
  22. We can't get the third pick in the second round. We traded that away at last year's draft. I am hoping Al Horford falls to us. He's a good rebounder and defensive presence. He's also pretty fundamentally sound. And he does whatever it takes to win. He's kind of like a poor man's Tim Duncan.
  23. He looks more like an NFL running back. Hmmm, maybe the Packers could borrow him for a few months.
  24. Reminds me of what Patrick (colbyjack) said about Neighborgall in his scouting report, "he likely will be a disappointment with a golden arm." edit: Patrick's scouting report on Neighborgall: link
  25. If the Yankees offered a package involving Hughes or Tabata I would at least consider it.
