  1. Mike Rivera. And he went yard today, too And I agree about Kotsay, so I'm rooting for Brendan Boggs to just have a monstrous spring
  2. Mike Cameron jumps immediately to mind. There are probably quite a few other #4 OF in MLB I'd rather have than Dickerson. Its not a huge deal though. I don't get why we'd rather have Kotsay over Inglett, but thats been gone over here, plenty...
  3. This will allow for alot more playing time to Dickerson & Kotsay & Boggs. It'll be interesting to see who, if any of them, will step up. Suffice it to say I think outfield depth is one of our most glaring weaknesses and this situation might shine a light on that. Here's hoping Corey recovers completely
  4. Greinke would be and should be the first priority
  5. Braun, batting in front of Fielder while Fielder is in a contract year
  6. Finally! I couldn't even get myself to post here, the wait was too long
  7. Carlos Gomez becomes the Brewers leadoff hitter, dropping Rickie Weeks to the #5 spot
  8. If I could move one team I'd move the Chicago Cubs to Siberia, Russia
  9. I wouldn't mind seeing Pujols in a Cubs uniform just because I really don't want to see Prince Fielder in a Cubs uniform getting booed mercilessly at Miller Park. Pujols to the Cubs would hardly make that messed up franchise World Series contenders
  10. I'm thrilled with this signing as Weeks has long been one of my favorite players. Love his all-out hustle and he is one of the leaders of the team. I could see Weeks batting 4th starting in 2012
  11. I'm not convinced Braddock has the long-term durability to be a closer. The Brewers are going for it this year, no way do you deal Axford. We need all the pitching we can get (and keep!)
  12. Having thought more about this subject I'm not convinced we have enough to trade for Furcal. Maybe, but it could be a challenge
  13. I don't think Mark Rogers is highly regarded enough. I was very impressed by Rogers at the end of last season and I think if he can overcome some control issues he could be a #3 MLB starter in 2012. Rivas, also, has alot of potential...
  14. Who is our long reliever & #6 starter just in case of injury? Parra? I kind of like Parra being strictly a 2 inning guy. If a pitcher gets shelled early in the game though, who pitches 4 innings for us? Probably Parra I suppose Rogers is the first starter in terms of depth in case of injury
  15. Parra plus Betancourt plus a minor leaguer for Rafael Furcal?
  16. My heart says 50-112 and my head says 74-88
  17. Been watching a little of Greinke lately, what little video I have of him (such as All-Star game apperances etc). He has just flithy nasty stuff. An 86 mph curveball. A 96 mph heater that rises up at the last split second. When he is on his pitches are just electric. He strikes me as the type who could throw 101 mph but eases up enough to get extra movement at 95-96 mph. Just an incredible talent. His appearance in the 2009 All-Star game was amazing
  18. For the record, I'd be all for that. I just don't think Melvin will do that, so I am focusing on the Trade Deadline. Mark A & Melvin have a track record now showing that they will trade for players at the deadline to upgrade the roster, and I most certainly think that with this pitching staff that we'll at the least be "in contention" at the deadline this season, even if not all the pieces fall into place...
  19. Furcal is a good example of the type of player I was wondering about. I used Hardy as an example if he's having a career year. Personally, I think Hardy's best is behind him, though I wish him the best... (he'd still be an upgrade over Betancourt or "Bet on Errors" as my kid calls him) Anyone else out there besides Furcal? Again I'm looking for All-Star caliber talent, the type of trade that makes the fans say "oh my God!" I suppose, depending on how well Gomez plays, a CF at the trade deadline might be a possibility
  20. Wondering if there is anyone who would fit this bill to keep an eye out for in July? An All-Star caliber SS (or close to All-Star level) who would be a 3 month rental (or maybe even someone signed through 2012) playing for a team not in the race... Perhaps like a JJ Hardy if Hardy rebounds to career year status. Anyone else you can think of? I think they are going to start the season with Betancourt, but will trade for an "oh *wow*" SS at the trade deadline if they could. The Brewers are going for it this season...
  21. Great signing, especially because who knows for sure about Axford? Closers are funny creatures. I think it is likely that Axford stays great but who knows he could be Derrick Turnbow 2.0 Saito gives us insurance and a good solid pitcher every other day No doubt the Brewers are going for it... I suspect the next major move will be trading for an All-Star shortstop in July
  22. I think we could use more relief pitching to replace Coffey & Jeffress Personally I'd like to see a SS signed but I don't think it is going to happen Wouldn't mind a 5th outfielder being signed as I am not at all confident in Boggs. I'm fine with Dickerson and his .759 career OPS (granted only in 400+ AB's). Gamel might be the 5th outfielder supersub guy Mostly I think we need more pitching, you can never have too much pitching, and specifically we need more bullpen help
  23. ugh, just say NO to Jim Edmonds
