  1. Walla takes Thornburg deep to LF bullpen, Thorny sitting around 92
  2. Peralta was phenominal, throwing strikes, attacking hitters, if he would of thrown like this in ST job would be his. Sat 93-95. Scarpetta 91-93 looked good, Divas had one mistake to Green but looked good. Merkllinger has actually impressed me as well...the 39 is a fitting number, reminds me of Capuano. Sitting 87-89 but good off speed stuff Hitters have not impressed outside of Green. Ton of Ks. Heckathorn in now in 5th
  3. Ditto, hit it on the head. If 3 run leads are not going to be safe like last year with Hoffman, we are on trouble. If he gets his act together and commands his pitches he is fine. Everyone is goin to just sit fastball right now
  4. Jimmy nelson sadly will not be pitching today due to a bullpen session, via twitter
  5. I think Green having to repeat is more of a product of him being leap over by Wheeler who be starting at 3b. Im disappointed about Green and I think overall with the Brewers not protecting him then making him repeat, id say he is really not in there future plans.
  6. I would go with John Axford for worse player, pretty hard game to blow todays game and he did to none other than Hernandez. Pretty sad when he is the player in the lineup to knock out a game winning 3-run bomb. Maybe the only person worse would be Jason Kendell..... Offensively I think our line up looks fine. Morgan over Kotsay would be preferred but I am not nearly the Kotsay hitter most on here are. Bethencourt.... yeah he may be more of a black hole in the lineup but with Josh Prince prob being the closest SS prospect (he is still 3 years away prob) not much we can do. I would love Farris to play a crap ton of SS but the Brewers feel it is better to let him stay 90% at 2B and be blocked by Weeks instead of get enough work in to fix a major weak spot. He is a great fielder at 2b and guessing he can't be that bad at SS. Offensively he just needs to out produce what Bethencourt is going to....
  7. Agreed. I see this as sending only the messege of, hey we want you to go to BC get the bat going, build up the confidence and when we feel you are ready we will get you up to Huntsville. Hunter only hit .251 with an OPB of .306 in A ball. He had pretty solid power numbers but nothing that screams PROMOTE PROMOTE! What messege are you sending when you skip players for average performance and make the other players earn that promotion? I think that is far worse. I would also like you to also show me thin track record of Brewers skipping college hitters levels... It doesn't occur that often and a high school guy like Lawrie are just as likely. We were not at Spring training coaching and seeing how he is doing every second so no way anyone can sit here and say he got screwed cause maybe he didnt have a great spring or they want him to work on something a little more. When Morris earns a promotion he will get it, no need to rush his development just because he went to college....
  8. Nothing wrong with this movea player should never be pissed about club not skipping a full level after only 70 pro games. Let him start to roll then promote. There is no need to rush him so quick. I think the way Lintz pitched this spring in the bullpen, he may have finally made it out of rookie ball.....hopefully or he may have a similar fate as the rest of the 08 class
  9. I remember posting a comment sometime back that this year would be his make or break season and he didnt do well he would prob be cut but I didn't think he wouldnt even have a chance this season. He must have just looked terrible this spring.
  10. Actually it means he did "hit" well, he just didn't walk. Had a respectable .414 slugging for a SS and "hit" .281. That is not bad or "sucks." You always need to make sure everyone knows how worthless all stats like BA, K's, and etc are and then you use one of the one you live by wrong. 15BB in in 518 PA would give anyone a good awful OBP doesn't mean he could hit the ball. I don't mind losing Cruz to much, we could always make a move down the road to get someone of his caliber on waivers or for very little in a trade. Boggs I was hoping would get a spot and happy he decided to stay. Not sure he will be the first to get a call now that he lost is 40 man spot.
  11. Have to agree with toolivebrew, it is serious stuff. It has nothing to do with mental toughness, it has to do with an imbalancement and disorder. Greinke for example is prob one of the most mentally tough guys on the field but yet he nearly left baseball and would have if he didnt find a medication that helps curb his disorder. It is pure ignorance on the topic to even make that statement. I hope he does find something works and gets him back to baseball. Best of luck to Angel.
  12. I'm just curious of how well Morgan will handle spending a lot of time on the bench if Gomez does play the way he is capable of. To me, I don't see him as a person who would handle that to well. Could be wrong though. I would have probably preffered Dickerson over Morgan but I think this was a good trade. Dykstra was blocked at 2nd, couldn't play OF, and as of right now doesn't have the stick for 3B so I am hapy for him to go somewhere where he may have an opening to work his way up at 2nd. Morgan is solid depth and more proven depth han what we have. Move helps the team
  13. Hey all trade supporters remeber Chris Dickerson the greatest thing since sliced bread! When Gomez goes back to be the most worthless player in the history of baseball, Dickerson will save the day!!! We stand no chance this season now! We got not one gal darn option! DM what were you thinking!! Mitre blows, Gomez blows, now the Brewers will blow!!!!! I can't believe now I will have to watch a team that has Kotsay and Reed on the roster. I know they have never played a single game for the brewers but they awful! I don't want to hear any well Brewers have had good luck with guys like Kotsay (Kapler, Edmonds, Cirrillo) and Reed (Posednick, Clark, Inglett) because their is ZERO chance they could possibly doing anythin constructive. Just trying to fit in with all the negitive fans who make a big deal over nothing. Dickerson = nothing special, wasn't even a lock to make the roster but yet sure crap, we trade now he is this huge piece to our team....unreal. On top of it there is plenty more hate on players who have yet to even play a single game for the Brewers in the thread. Don't get why some are you are so willing to write off people before they even play a game. Brewers have lived off guys that no one thought had a chance to do anything and they do great things. I for one will wait to see if these guys are as terrible as many of you have decided they will be. Overall solid trade. A one for one of okay players of equal value. Hopefully Boggs and Reed play well if not by May/June Schaefer should be 100% and have the ab's to be called up or maybe Gindl. I personally feel Gomez will be much better. From everything I have read he is working his butt off to improve and the player he can be.
  14. compare 2011 brewers farm system to 2001 Brewers system.....this looks incredible
  15. Khris Davis firstbase? He has the bat for it and he would be limited to LF due to his arm so makes sense.
  16. That is extremely impressive with how handcuffed Brewers are with pricing due to being located in the largest coupon cutting city in the U.S.
  17. This is the third straight year he could have made the team but injuries in March kill. I think it is a great move but would still like to see him play some OF to give team more flexiblity with him this season if someone goes down. There is no question about his bat. He is a major league hitter and the best possible bat that could be brought up if an injury occurs. Only problem is if he is limited to just first, a Prince Fielder injury would be the only way for him to get the call outside of interleague play. Still should get other reps in LF, RF, and even 3rd in case McGehee goes down. Overall though guy will be 26, he is really almost out of the prospect catagory and needs to get some legit major at bats if we are to depend on him if Prince leaves.
  18. Ross would be a good pick. Even without Covey that 2010 pitching is loaded with talent. Nelson, Thornburg, Miller, and Ross all displayed a lot last year. Joel Pierce is young but has great frame and arm. The one guy no one talks about who has maybe the most electric arm is Thomas Keeling. There is a reason for that, he pitch beyond terrible but he learns to throw strikes and do it consistantly, watch out. 24 bb in like 7ip I believe to go with 18 ot so ERs, he has a lot to prove. Saw that Rob Wooten is back so I expect him to rebreakout and be our top RP prospect.
  19. Pascal only one walk and Lintz a scoreless inning, two things I really like to see.
  20. IDK, to me the only person he could be mad at is himself. This is the third year he has had a chance to win a spot but has failed to stay healthy enough to compete and win a job. He is no longer a young prospect and will be 26 this summer. To me me it is put up or shut up, if you want to be a big leaguer do whatever it takes including moving off of 3B.
  21. I have a feeling Hall and Pierce both will be in extended ST with Walla and Roberts and open season is the core of the Helena team. I guess it all depends on how they are pitching ( and hitting) this spring. Tough to say though, Gallardo and Rogers only pitched 6-9 games of rookie ball and then guys like Odorizzi were forced to pitch two full years. With hitters, you show you belong like Gennett, you can make the leap.
  22. He is killing the ball, not just popping it up like usual but legitimately driving hard line drives. His strikeouts are low with only 4 so far in his 35 at bats. Sure I'd love to see him have more walks but can't complain when he is what I am assuming good pitches and driving the ball. If he walks once or twice to morrow he is right in the mix with the rest of the team (a few like Weeks, Wheeler, Boggs have five but most are sitting around 1-3). Edit: well I guess not all pitches are good after looking at Gobias Industries picture ha
  23. Lol may be hard to tell but I am def a Gomez fan and believer. He has very tool needed to being one of the top CF in baseball it is a just a matter of putting tools together. A Carlos Gonzalez 2010 season would not shock me at all, just hope he learns to walk
  24. .290/.350/.800 15HR 55RBI 50SB and a gold glove BA/OBP/OPS
  25. Second it!!! DSL is prob my favorite team to follow in the system. I can't wait to see what guys are promoted to the states. Ruben Sanchez, Andres Martinez, Jose Pena, Hitaniel Arias, Jose Garcia, Ronny Pullo, Raul Mondesi Jr. Carlos Pena, Yorki Hernandez, Jeffrey Saba, Carlos Soda, Eliezer Montano, and Manny Ruiz are all guys I am really looking forward to seeing if they devolop into legit prospects. Best part about Perez is he is only 17 (18 mid season) and have read he is hitting 94mph. Plus a 6'3 200lbs frame also is pretty nice
