  1. He may only pitch 1 inning in the game, but that doesn't mean they won't have him pitch some simulated stuff afterwards to continue ramping him up.
  2. I really can't imagine them trading him to NE though.
  3. It's super weird that they are only doing it in the 2nd half of the season, but yes it seems like they'll be moving the mounds back and the pitcher will throw from 2 feet further away. I'm guessing the thought process is something like, we want to increase offense. Pitchers throw really hard. If we move the mound back 2 ft that might slow the ball down enough to create more offense. Doing it in the middle of the season gives them a more accurate comparison than just 1 season to another. However, that is going to really screw with those pitchers at first.
  4. Good, at least we don't have to wait long one way or another.
  5. To me it seems like they are saying pitching changes add to much time to the game. And so they think to themselves let's have fewer pitching changes and that will solve it, instead of realizing that pitching changes just take forever to happen. We have to wait for the manager to meander to the mound, then he has to chat up the pitcher, then he signals, then the pitcher walks in from 350 feet away and has to throw 10 pitches before we can resume play. Here's how it should be. You signal from the dugout and the pitcher comes out on a golf cart gets maybe 1 pitch to remind himself that the pitchers mound is just like every other pitching mound and boom we are good to go and it's taken maybe a minute. You want talk to the pitcher to find out if you want to talk him out? Fine, but it counts as a mound visit.
  6. How long does one need to be a ssh for this reward?
  7. Huh. I was just reading an article from bob nightingale about how the harper negotiations are entering the final stages and the phillies might not even be the favorites anymore.
  8. That about sums it up. Could have had a chance but screwed it up.
  9. It would be nice if we could stop having half hour reviews. Glad my pep talk to iverson worked.
  10. Thanks! I noticed that last week and had forgotten till this post.
  11. Just giving them false hope.
  12. Happy first spring training game day!
  13. I've been looking at a few different things and I'm still a little confused. So basically I've gathered that the refs screwed up, but I'm not sure which of the 2 possibilities it is, which wasn't helped by Miller's portrayal of the the refs explanation as 'we were right. 24 second violation'. What I'm confused about is whether the refs were wrong to put the clock back to the 3.5 and it should have been time Lopez touched it minus .2 or were they wrong just wrong about thinking Lopez caught it thereby taking too much time to shoot, but the clock was put to the correct time. Or was it both? To me, it looked like Lopez tipped the ball just fine, but I could be ok if the refs want to say something like it looked like he lifted it, sorta like in volleyball, as opposed to a pure tip, but then should the time between the Giannis tip and Lopez "catch" be gone?
  14. Yeah. Maybe he can use today as a jumping off point for the rest of the season.
  15. Thats actually a pretty good idea. Im sure the ages and years would need to be worked out, but basically the earlier you bring someone up the more use you get out of them. It would take away holding down deserving players, like the bryant situation, and allow players to hit the market during their prime, or close to it. Maybe set it to six years of control or a certain age? Im not sure why the teams would want this, or more likely what it would take for them to accept it, but it feels like it would solve most of the issues.
  16. Does the .2 represent 2/10ths or 2/3s?
  17. Well, I think we are all in agreement that now that giannis better stay healthy. Also back to backs where you have to basically fly the length of the country between suck. 0-2 now with terrible results in both games.
  18. Today just emphasized how terrible Iverson is, which is a shame because he is so athletic. He is useless on offense, unless he gets the ball with a clear path to dunk. So many times today he got a pass under the basket and then either stood there before passing it out or pump faked once allowing the defense to surround him and then putting up a shot that was easily stuffed.
  19. Thanks for the reply. That is both exciting and sad. This team has been so fun to watch this year that the thought of dismantling it sucks, but also the though of another potential super star to play with giannis is exciting.
  20. If we were to sign a max from outside of the organization, theoretically how much would we have left for any of our own guys?
  21. Im imagining a Bobby Boucher type explanation. When the qb says hike he gets the ball. Try to tackle him, unless he gives it to the running back, in which case try to tackle him.
  22. [sarcasm]Now that that's settled we can finally get down to talking about the rest of the proposals.[/sarcasm] This draws a meh. I'll probably still just say or type dl.
  23. Thanks for nothin kc. Also, I still hate the ot rules.
  24. Andy Reid goes full McCarthy and the timeout blows up in his face. Though i cant blame him tbf.
