  1. Eliminate them by the end of august?
  2. Not sure if this work, but Suzuki was called for 3rd strike pitch clock violation after walkong off fouling a ball that bounced into his groin. If it were anyone but a cubs player I'd say it was a stupid call. I can't figure out how to embed the thing, but at least the link works. Mod edit: see embed below
  3. I was just reading through the thread and was about to comment that sometimes this year we have been terrible to start a game, but then the flood gates open and we score a bunch, like just happened. Can never count these guys out.
  4. I don't remember which topic it was, but there was some discussion on the board about who you would want to start a winner take all, and I think my answer is the Quinn from Friday night.
  5. I understand not every IL of a bad player is a conspiracy, but also how does that work? "Jake you've been terrible for 2 months we are going to be cutting you" "Well now that you mention it, my should has been bothering me for 2 months" Just 2 me it feels like if the injury just happened it doesn't matter, and if it's been a while you've been hurting the team by keeping it quiet.
  6. Can we pop the champagne now that Frazier is out of the division?
  7. Most Vaughnable Player!
  8. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mlb.com/amp/news/all-star-game-roster-rules-faq-c239654292.html Used to be manager, but that changed in 2017 to eliminate bias. Who picks the replacements for injured players or those who decline to participate? If a fan-elected starter is unable to play, they are replaced in the starting lineup by the player on the roster who received the next most votes on the player ballot at their position. The roster replacement is then chosen by the league. If a player-elected reserve position player must be replaced, the next in line on the player ballot becomes a reserve, unless the leaders of the player ballot have already been accounted for. If the top finishers on the player ballot are already All-Stars, then MLB can select another replacement.
  9. Contreras took that personally last night.
  10. I'm just gonna say I look forward to all the misspellings of Bogoljub Markovic.
  11. Probably don't need to see either, wasn't much connection between the first 2. Maybe just watch a recap of both just to get an idea of some of the lore which may help. Haven't seen the new one yet. 28 days later is on hulu/Disney right now but weeks is not fyi.
  12. 100% of his hits given up are homers. DFA the bum!
  13. Ironically, it would be kinda fitting if they did AI him even if he was still alive with star wars doing it with tarkin and Leia.
  14. Wow. He looks pretty good for 98. Excited to see if they can top the original.
  15. "Hey yeah since I'm taking your rotation spot, I was hoping I could also have your jersey number. Just let me know. I'll be out there on the mound...starting...instead of you."
  16. Is there any data on number of challenges per game or % overturned calls per game from either the minors or spring training?
  17. Not to pick on you for it, but I hate this phrase/thought process. The only human element I want in the game is from the players and feel all human element should be taken out of the officiating. Also, everyone who thinks this will still complain after a blown call goes against them and will not think boy I love that human element nice call ump.
  18. @Brock Beauchamp getting a black screen, which I'm guessing is an ad because it happens mid scroll. I can see the top of the thread and bottom, but where all the posts are its just straight black. Add pictures to show where you can see the top and bottom, with the black inbetween incase the pictutes arent clear.
  19. Hate the week 5 bye. I feel like byes should be more centralized in the schedule, and to be really fair the whole division should have the same bye week. Could do something like byes rotate 1 nfc and 1 afc division each week of 8, 9, 10, and 11. At least the home and away games are spread pretty evenly with no 3 game road trips.
  20. Mavs have announced they won't entertain the possibility of trading the pick for what that's worth.
  21. I think they fully expected turang to slide over to short, but that was derailed by his arm soreness in spring so now they are just rolling with it.
  22. Let's see *checks notes* We are one game closer to Murphy being fired. The decision to sell at the deadline will be really easy. We are adding to the overinflation of cubs fans heads which will make their end of season collapse much funnier. That's all I got for today.
  23. That was dumb. Just no words.
  24. Or maybe Trent Jr will just put the team on his back like in game 3.
