  1. He looked out to me. Base didnt move till his toes were on it. First basemans foot did look like it could have been off the bag but it was too hard to tell for sure.
  2. Im always amused when all the runs in a game are scored in the exact same inning for both teams. I wonder what the record is for that because this has to be at least close.
  3. I had never seen rugby before yesterday. It is pretty fun to watch.
  4. I love the olympics but the opening(and closing) ceremonies hold 0 interest for me. I like watching some of the more obscure sports that arent in the main stream often and swimming. Swimming being my favorite and water polo being my favorite of the more obscures.
  5. Seriously, what more does broxton need to do to finish the season as the starting cf?
  6. I tried that once at a mcdonalds when the drive thru line was really long. I think it still would have been shorter to go through the drive thru. My assumption is that drive thru gets priority.
  7. [sarcasm]They want him to start out in the majors playing in san diego and this way they can guarantee he does that. Braun started in san diego and hes turned out pretty well so they figure theres something in the water for top prospects of other teams.[/sarcasm] Im leaning towards wishing they had waited, though im still pretty excited for his debut. Only wish it was in better circumstances for me to watch him.
  8. Could, but i would assume it would be an all or none then. Like, hey mets, your offer stinks weve got better from a couple other teams. Or hey mets, your offer stinks. Weve got better offers from the indians and [insert mystery team name]. Instead of, hey mets, your offer stinks. Weve got better offers from the indians and another team.
  9. This mystery team stuff confuses me a little. Presumably the source would come from the brewers organization because otherwise how would they know which other teams are in or that certain teams are still in but theres also another that they dont know about. So if its from the brewers, how would they know some teams but not others? I can just imagine the war room: Guy: well david, mets have offered x and the indians y. Which should we take? Ds: theres also this third offer we have. Guy: which team and who are they offering. Ds: i met them at niagra falls, you wouldnt know them, but their offer is solid. Guy to reporter: so its the mets, indians, and a mystery team that david wont tell us about.
  10. [sarcasm]if this board cant lay off the high heat we will never make it to the majors[/sarcasm] The wait is killing me! I just want to be able to open our christmas in july presents already.
  11. I think its to be interpreted like they need to win 12 games to get to .500.
  12. If the Brewers won't accept the deal, how is that the Mets have "enough" to get a deal done? "The mets have enough but the brewers dont seem to want to take our overvalued garbage"
  13. My thought is we are still trying to showcase garza to get someone to take him so giving him as many satrts before the deadline as possible.
  14. Would have loved to have seen carter in this.
  15. Are we sure the coaching staff doesnt want him attempting to steal third with 2 outs?
  16. It split the corner according to the fox graphic, though rosario set up on the outside and had to come back so slightly generous you could say. It looks like the cards have some sort of team celebration after getting a hit that looks kinda like an overhand grenade lob. 2 thoughts, didnt they get upset with the beast mode celebration back in 2011? And [sarcasm]how do they live with themselves with this constant showing up of the pitcher?[/sarcasm]
  17. It's obviously the fault of the poster who posed the question not too long ago with almost this exact scenario happening. He jinxed us.
  18. Seems like he bullied his way out of the organization. He tells the front office he isnt going to play anymore then after his release he gets the call hes been waiting for to play again?
  19. I don't want to potentially derailed the Ramirez thread so I will put this here. I'm thinking about the cost of Rule 5 picks and it got me wondering if the 50,000 was what it was originally or if it has changed over time. Because 50,000 seems like a trivial amount of money, like how when some players I traded for a dollar. And when I checked the wiki it only increased my curiosity because it mentions the $50,000 being there to prevent excessive turnover. Found a baseball America article originally published in 95 that says in 85 it went from 25k to the 50k it is now. So i guess at some point they thought 25 wasnt enough, but either because the wealth in the sport exploded or some other reason they stopped caring. Because I imagine when it was first introduced 25000 was a decent chunk of change
  20. I would think technically he should be allowed on the field. Hes ejected from the game, not the stadium or the day. Once the game ends so should his ejection.
  21. Ive heard the admirals are not going to be playing there. I think they said they will be playing where uwm plays basketball, but i dont remeber.
  22. Craig likes having power at the top. The thought is to have the power guy ready to ambush a not ready pitcher right away before he can ease in with nonpower threat.
  23. Looking at the picture of milone makes my elbow hurt.
