  1. Oh please Molina! I want to see him go full melt down, do something stupid, and get knocked for 4 or 5 games.
  2. As long as by ugly you mean Brewers win 20-2 but I still doubt we hit anyone. Why would they start now?
  3. Sure you can say take the high road, and blah, blah, blah but nothing is going to stop them. MLB won't do anything until there's retaliation.
  4. How can the Brewers not retaliate now? Will Craig write a letter like grandpa Ken?
  5. As for commercials, a couple times a race NASCAR will show commercials full screen with the race in a tiny box in the corner. Maybe baseball could do this every couple innings. Keep the game moving and keep the money flowing.
  6. 2 strike approach. It doesn't exist anymore. Batters don't care if a 2 strike pitch might be on the corner, they're not swinging and will take a chance that it's a ball (and then get pissy when it's called a strike). I will agree there are certain times where you don't want to wave at a pitch and potentially hit into a double play but when there's no force out there is literally no downside to trying to put the ball in play with 2 strikes. Somehow that eludes 99% of the league. A return to batters changing their approach with 2 strikes would make a world of difference to the watchability of games.
  7. Sogard provides not being terrible at a couple defensive right now. I'm not sure what Santana offers at the moment. I wouldn't mind seeing Eric gone but this makes more sense. Domingo needs AB's the get something going, that's not going to happen in Milwaukee.
  8. I think more importantly, how would this help anything? There are so few real base stealers in baseball anymore it would only matter for like 4 or 5 guys.
  9. Who gets drilled today and how many times will the benches clear? I can't see the Cardinals just letting Eric get away with his transgressions from yesterday. And even though I doubt the Brewers will do anything about it, it's be nice to see a Cardinal go down for Cain getting beaned and Munoz douchebagery.
  10. The playing of the game isn't the problem. It's all the useless crap that happens when the ball isn't in play. Warmup pitches for mid inning pitching changes, batters stepping out of the box and adjusting every piece of clothing and equipment between every pitch, pitchers taking 30 seconds to decide which of their 2 or 3 pitches they want to throw, replay reviews that take over 5 minutes. Put an end to that crap and you'll make some headway but for gods sakes leave the actual playing of the game alone. No limits on pickoffs, pitching changes, shifting, etc. I play adult baseball in the summer. Our 9 inning games take about 2 hours with the same rules as MLB, doesn't matter if it's a 1-0 game or a 10-9. Somehow we can pull it off.
  11. Losing a couple thousand in attendance is pennies for the owners. They make their money off TV, radio, and internet. All these pitching rules and limits ideas are just stupid and make things harder for the casual fan to understand which would do way more damage to fan interest than LOOGY's could ever do.
  12. I watched the whole game and never noticed, come check out the IGT and now it's all I can look at.... She's actually paying attention to the game unlike half of those under the age of 25.
  13. So Hader can only pitch when we're winning? Not when the other team is threatening and we're down by one?
  14. Has anyone brought up the "catchers don't get traded mid-season because they can't learn a new pitching staff" thing yet?
  15. No way would the Brewers have simply switched Hiura out for Diaz. Their value is no where close to the same.
  16. Agreed. In fairness to Ozuna, that strike call he argued was dreadful. It wasn't even close, probably one of the worst strike/ball calls I've seen all year. As Foxtracks showed it, the first pitch to Molina was in the exact same spot and called a ball.
  17. Yes, so he would remain eligible to win the 2019 Rookie of the Year award, but he would still accrue 30 days of service time. The important aspect is that a September call up would mean that instead of the Brewers being able to bring him up in late-April 2019 and maintain an extra year of team control they would have to wait until the end of May 2019 to call him up in order to not risk losing that extra year. Another way to put it is you don’t want him to have 172+ days of service time at the end of the 2019 season. Any days he plays in 2018 will likely result in less days he would play in 2019. I guess it’s always possible they don’t try to manipulate his service time and just give up the extra year of control, but I think that’s unlikely. Both Beloxi and Colorado Springs end their season's on September 3. Don't know where they stand for playoffs but if he stays down for that, we're looking at only about 20 days or less of service time in 2018.
  18. Starters don't like their routine messed with. A 6 man rotation messes with that routine quite a bit. I know the idea has been brought up before, but starters are a funny bunch. I feel like it would be easy to say "they should just adjust", and yeah, it should be easy to do, but baseball players (as we know) are creatures of habit, and starters moreso than most. And yet they don't complain in the playoffs when starters go 3 days, 6 days, or over a week between starts.
  19. Service time is service time regardless of the month. OK, not sure where I got that from. Maybe confusing things with guys signing major league deals back in the day. I thought that too. Looked it up: Looks like September service time doesn't count toward your rookie eligibility.
  20. I really don't think Happ will bring back much where ever he goes. A couple month of an aging mid rotation starter generally isn't worth much on the trade market.
  21. Aguilar (and to a lesser extent Santana) is the reason Thames will be in the outfield. If Jesus wasn't proving his 2017 wasn't a fluke, Perez would be in the OF with Thames at first.
  22. It's too bad MLB has no idea how to market their players. This guy is beyond a generational player. He is literally the Michael Jordan of baseball. There are still plenty of people who will tell you that Bryce Harper is the best player in baseball despite Trouts WAR being 34 higher with only 600 more AB's. I really don't think too many people that will tell you Bryce Harper is the best player in baseball. I think you'll get Stanton, Judge, Kershaw, and maybe Altuve and Bryant as more popular answers. As for marketing Trout, he plays for a crappy franchise. I understand it. I wouldn't have expected a Mike Trout level player that played for the early 2000's Brewers to get any pub either.
