    I think the big question for 2018 is, "Will Attanasio be willing to take a step back in the short term to have massive gains over the long haul? That is the real question. Stearns wasn't even willing to take a step back in the short term when they were in first place this year. Not that I'm complaining or disagree but he's willing to wait it out.

    A lot of good answers but for me personally Wily Peralta has and I can't be happier. One of the most overrated players we've ever had. He progressively got worse every year of his career yet many insisted his breakout was right around the corner and that he'd be good once moved to the bullpen.

    On the one hand, the record was way above expectations. On the other hand, the record should have been much better had the bullpen performed even below average instead of absolute garbage in the first half. I have no idea what to expect in 2018. My gut is telling me over .500 but not much and certainly not in the playoff hunt until the second to last day of the season.

    You can totally ignore everything that happened today. The Rockies didn't care. The Cardinals didn't care. Honestly, the lineup the Brewers had showed they didn't care either. As I've said plenty of times, this last month isn't where the playoffs was lost. It was April and May when the bullpen couldn't hold a 4 run lead.

    The statement could also be, "Not sure how much worse than Garza $5M is going to get you." Either way it's true. $5M gets you jack squat on the free agent market. Maybe you luck in to a minor league signing or two but $5M gets you a no bat, aging, utility infielder or burned out pitcher.

    You can say that this was an unexpected season so it's all good but that is false. They blew it plain and simple dozens of times. I don't know how you can be accepting of that.

    Ya, I don't get why people are upset. The options are Davies on short rest or bullpen game. You need to win both games so it doesn't really make sense to start Davies today over tomorrow. And Guerra hasn't thrown more than a few innings in quite a while so it is in essence a bullpen game anyway.

    Haha I never heard this but yes: "He was the mayor of San Cristobal, San Cristobal from 2010 to 2016, but after his term ended he was investigated for fraud. He was also barred from holding any public office for ten years." No public office for 10 years? Why is he not banned for life?

    No they don't, just trying to break Chase's rhythm. And it worked. I guess technically it's legal but it's sleazy especially in a game that doesn't matter to you and matters to the other guys. More good reasons to hate the Cards. That seems like quite a stretch.
