  1. Oh I know it's doing things it shouldn't and the repair man told me it probably wasn't worth it to fix it and we should just ride it into the ground. Despite being incredibly loud it was working fine and was hoping this was a simple fix but it looks like a new one just makes more sense.
  2. This extra inning nonsense is trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist. I've never once seen argument that baseball games are too long because of extra innings. What percentage of MLB games go more than 10 innings? I'd guess about 2% meaning implementing this in the majors will have zero meaningful impact.
  3. I hope to God this never reaches the bigs but I like it for the lower minors and I wouldn't even mind it up through both A levels. Pitchers there are on strict inning and pitch limits and the players often times have long travel ahead of them so anything to prevent 14 or more inning games from happening is fine in my book. Also, wins and losses at those levels are pretty much meaningless so just get the players their AB's and innings and move on. Of course there will be interesting pitching lines where a pitcher doesn't give up a baserunner but still gets an ER and a loss.
  4. Former Brewer pitcher Mike Burns?
  5. The first two things are what was wrong last time. I know nothing about what a controller card is but it sounds electronic and wouldn't that fry the whole thing and effect everything instead of only one setting?
  6. I'm sure Chris would have gotten more than that had he stayed in Milwaukee but numbers weren't exchanged so the $8M figure we are all assuming is a guess based off of MLB Trade Rumors predictions. They are generally very close but all numbers are still just speculation from outside sources. I believe he was non-tendered before Thames was signed so maybe he would have stuck around for $4 or $5 million.
  7. Ya I don't know how making the strike zone smaller will result in more balls in play. Smaller strike zone, less pitches batters will swing at, less balls in play.
  8. Agreed. And TO not even making the final 10 is a joke. Kurt Warner is the poster boy for Super Bowl's being the only thing that matters in the NFL. He had a darn good career but is no where near hall of fame worthy. Was he ever even a top 5 QB at any point during his career?
  9. About a year ago our washer stopped spinning completely. A repair man looked at it and said that some seal had broken and water leaked into the housing and it was just stuck. He freed it and it occasionally would lock up but I could free it by hand and it would work fine just loud as hell. Now it won't spin at all during a wash cycle but it spins fine if I set it to a spin cycle. It doesn't make sense to me that it would spin fine on one setting and not at all on another. Is this some sort of computer issue or what? I've tried other wash settings and the same thing happens but any spin cycle and it works fine.
  10. I'd be on board for throwing $2M a year at a guy who could be very good but hasn't proven anything yet. That's barely a drop in the bucket for anyone, even Milwaukee. It's not an issue as long as you don't do it to too many guys.
  11. I have clue if you're serious or not.
  12. Villar is the only one right now I would even consider. Davies is a distant second. Nelson and Peralta have been too inconsistent and not even that good when they haven't been bad, plus they're on the "older" side when considering extending a pitcher. Pretty much no one else has enough of a track record to even know what they are at this point. Maybe if Broxton starts 2017 like he finished 2016 I think you try and get him on the cheap but he's so far from even arbitration I don't know if even that makes sense.
  13. What would be more impressive would be to get 1000 AB's in a season from one position. Those numbers are more like mid-50's HR's over 162 games. Still not bad.
  14. Just doesn't really make sense with his contract and that he can only play 1B.
  15. Not that money's really an issue but he's got about $10M left on his deal and will essentially be a RHB platoon at first lacking any positional versatility. Like Aguila he doesn't seem like a Stearns guy. Having said that it will be interesting to see if anyone claims him. He's paid peanuts compared to most veterans and was doing well until his wrist injury. I'd think someone will but I highly doubt it's Milwaukee.
  16. Looking for members for an established dynasty league. PM me if interested.
  17. When I read about Aguilar being DFA'd I thought he might be a guy we'd be interested in. Looks like he dabbled in the OF early in his career and has made a few cameos at 3B, but he's basically a 1B. I see no way he makes the roster unless Thames gets hurt as he offers zero versatility.
  18. Other than age what would Nelson do for the Cubs that they don't already have?
  19. We've veered off topic but I think people just look for reasons to hate baseball too. It's boring, nothing happens, games are too long, players are paid too much, steroids are ruining it, etc.
  20. Unless you live in Milwaukee or very close I don't understand why anyone would have season tickets anyway. It's not like football where you only have 8 home dates and you can probably easily sell your tickets for face value if you can't go. Who can make it to 81 home games or even enough to break even after discount except for someone who's retired? I suppose you could sell enough of your unused tickets to make it worthwhile but I can't imagine there's much of a market for an April Brewers/Marlins weeknight game.
  21. I'm whatever on both ends of this deal but I'm assuming some infielder has to be on the move. Otherwise it makes no sense to tie up this many 40 man spots on no hit, utility infielders on a team with no shot at competing.
  22. And just as we all should have assumed, somehow the Brewers could end up losers in all of this.
  23. It's more than I thought it would be but I still don't see it as that big of a punishment. Taking away two picks that most likely amount to nothing anyways doesn't hurt them one bit.
  24. I don't think losing a first round pick is that big of a deal. Teams forfeit 1st rounders all the time for free agents and even a top 10 pick is 50/50 at best to even make the bigs lets alone be a worthwhile player. Plus the union has already said they would object to any draft related punishment, which I don't understand at all since none of their members are in the draft (and if they care so much about the amateur kids why have they done nothing to help minor leaguers, but that's another topic). I would start with banning them from the international market for a few years but I'm sure the union will have a problem with that too.
  25. I don't understand how you can come to that conclusion.
