  1. So we should be giving them to guys like Nieuwenhuis and Presley instead? Older guys that are struggling as well? I agree with you (they've all been pretty bad but at least Kirk and Alex have had stretches where they weren't terrible) but Keon has no clue what's going on at the plate right now. Guerra and Davies have had better AB's the last two nights than he has.
  2. Pederson swings like a beer leaguer. Not surprised he's done nothing since his hot start last year.
  3. Braun gets booed everywhere he goes. Dodger fans are too busy staring at their phones or stabbing people to worry about such things.
  4. I hate the word clutch and everything that goes with it but other than his grand slam against the Dbacks Lucroy has been so unclutch his whole career.
  5. No. The only chance he had was to run through and not slide at all.
  6. 8ks to 1bb in 5IP? Guy is 19 mind you. Youngest at the moment in all of MLB The stats look good but I expected a mid to upper 90's fastball and he had little control.
  7. Agreed. I can't imagine listening to one guy try and be clever for 9 innings every night. I would still take him over Uecker. At least Vin talks about the game that's going on.
  8. I've got to say that what I've seen from Urias so far is less than impressive.
  9. SS will always have more value than 2B or 3B. SS's that can play 2B and 3B will have more value than a guy who only plays SS.
  10. [sarcasm]It's easier to get an out when you have a force at every base.[/sarcasm]
  11. Nothing is ever as impressive as they make it seem. Brian follows that exaggeration with another about how Villar could hit 20-25 homeruns. I never heard anyone say that. I honestly have no idea why he's so highly regarded as an announcer. He says just as much dumb stuff as Schroeder does, it's just not cranky old athlete guy dumb stuff.
  12. Did that really go as far as Rock and BA are gushing about? It looks like it just made it over the fence.
  13. I'm glad I'm not the only who thought that was a horribly blown call all around.
  14. Pretty sure this is the most emotion I've ever heard from BA and this what he chooses to use it on?
  15. Oh Milwaukee. Really bringing the A-game on defense tonight.
  16. Have a night Keon. There's a spot in the Sky Sox lineup for you tomorrow night.
  17. Can't play defense and strikes out a lot. Doug Melvin would love him.
  18. Potential is great but Broxton has shown absolutely nothing. Guerra has had better AB's tonight then him.
  19. Wrong, he is out if he is hit by a balled ball, the only exception is if you are hit by an infield fly coming straight down on your head while you are standing on the base. In all the baseball/softball leagues that I have umped, you are not out if you are on the bag and get hit with a batted ball, unless you intentionally make contact with the ball. Of course, I have never umped in the major leagues, so I am not positive on their rules. It would also be a very rare occurrence with leadoffs. Edit: According to the rulebook posted earlier, it looks like he would be out. Intent means nothing. And I've never heard of a league or level that plays by that rule. Just this year one of my JV kids got hit with the ball while baserunning because he was too fat/slow/stupid to get out of the way and was immediately called out.
  20. Demobrowski is running the show in Boston now. I'm sure a lot of it came from ownership but he seemed to care little about prospects in Detroit. He's already given up a haul for Kimbrel. I don't know who or how many he'll trade but to think he won't be willing to move some for the best or nearly the best catcher in the game is probably wrong.
  21. I can't see him bringing back anything this season unless he's lights out from now till the deadline. If he finishes out the year similar to how he's pitched so far I think you're looking at a Lind-to-Seattle or a Lind-from-Toronto type return - either some really young lottery tickets or a veteran with no place to play on his current team.
