  1. There were also reports that the Nats and A's are interested. I think this is the first time the A's have been mentioned.
  2. Why spend your own money when you can get it for free in Florida...which is arguably a better place financially? Is that true though? Has there been any new complex built in Florida recently? I don't know. I know it took shenanigans for the Marlins to get taxpayer money for their stadium and it doesn't seem like Tampa is willing to give the Rays anything. Totally different sums of money but same principle.
  3. ...and however much money Garza still has left on his contract. We get it. You don't like Garza. And I doubt his lease is shorter than anyone else's. Anderson and Peralta are both guys who will probably be available this summer and someone's going to get hurt at some point. You're reading way too much into that.
  4. Aren't the Brewers and A's the only teams without a pretty new complex in Arizona? Why can't these two get together to build their own? You would think splitting the costs would make it more feasible without all the taxpayer money that Mark is no doubt holding out for.
  5. I've always wondered why more players don't say similar things after they leave St. Louis. I suppose they don't want to ruffle any feathers (or get thrown at). I remember a couple years ago when the Cardinals pulled their usual beanball crap against the Brewers and some Brewers spoke up about it. Yet, there was not a peep from Lohse who had just spent 5 or 6 years being indoctrinated in it.
  6. When I saw this thread pop back up I assumed it would be about Anderson's brutal spring but what about what the Dbacks are doing? Apparently they're considering Segura at SS and even possibly trading Nick Ahmed to make it happen. Last year Ahmed put up a 70 OPS+, which (when you take out the fluke 2013) is almost exactly the same as Segura's career. Defensively, Ahmed had more dWAR last year then Segura has had his whole career combined. It's almost like someone is telling Dave Stewart what the smart move is and he's doing the opposite.
  7. A good chunk of it has been but I've been slowly moving into more high end items as I take this more seriously. You would be surprised how much seemingly crappy items sell for. What kinds of things would you be interested in? I'm always open to different items but if I haven't sold it before I'm not always comfortable on pulling the trigger to acquire it.
  8. Heaven forbid a multi-million dollar business build something with their own money instead of the tax payers. Mark needs to find a team looking to leave Florida and build a shared complex with them to split the cost.
  9. If you don't want the batter to stare down a homerun, don't let him hit one. If you don't want a pitcher to be fired up about getting a strikeout, don't let him strike you out. Seems pretty simple to me.
  10. The Yankees have done a good job at not being stupid the last few years but the Red Sox and Dodgers have made all kinds of trades in the last few months.
  11. I'm not even going to bother reading it as I don't care about what he's complaining about. Times change, society changes, people change. Get used to it. I'm sure that Rogers Hornsby or Honus Wagner would have had few nice things to say about the way Goose and his generation played the game.
  12. When does he go into the Brewers Hall of Fame. I'm not kidding. The requirements are such a joke he has to get in right?
  13. Right now the players the CBA hurts are the not-great players who get QO, pre-arby superstars, and guys who aren't even members yet (the next wave of pre-arby superstars.) That's such a small minority I can't really see many changes. The QO will probably be tinkered with but I can't see any changes to pre-arby and arby players. The majority of union members are mediocre to average players. By voting to give more money to young guys they're taking future money out of their own pockets.
  14. Gutting the Cubs system would be pretty beneficial for the Brewers.
  15. Your TV provider credentials would be the login you use to manage your cable account, view bills, etc. Was reading through that and it says Hopefully that part just isnt updated yet or something. I'm able to watch spring games on the Charter app.
  16. I started watching old episodes of Nitro starting in the middle of 1996 and I'm in the spring of 1997 now. Gosh that stuff was so good. Even the worst wrestlers were still better in the ring than the majority of WWE guys now. And Hugh Morris, he certainly tuned out to be a dick of a person, but he was so good for a guy his size. He should have been a bigger star than he was.
  17. I would assume having a minor league team in Florida is a bargaining chip for the Brewers. I wouldn't go to Brewers spring training in Florida until my wife forces us to take the family to Disneyworld. And even then I would still complain about it.
  18. With the Brewers rebuilding they should look to trade the useless veteran and the superstar in his prime in the booth for some younger guys.
  19. That's the first thing I thought of when I read this. Nothing like saying the paid attendance is 25,000+ when barely 20,000 show up.
  20. Link There's a link to my store. I'm more looking for what kind of things people are looking for that I can add than to advertise. But, please buy something if you like!
  21. I've heard a lot of other ones on MLB Network and I put Brian and Bill solidly in the middle. Yes, there are some worse than them but there are some better too. Brian is just so bland and vanilla and Bill is just so out of touch. I love the Nats guys. They have fun but aren't over the top.
  22. My wife and I went through this two years ago. I didn't think it was anywhere as bad as everyone made it out to be. Our agent told us you'll know the house as soon as you walk in. It will feel like home. I didn't believe that would happen with me but it actually did. Out of the 30ish houses we looked at the one we chose was the only one we both really liked so the decision wasn't really that hard.
  23. Still don't understand the love for him. He's 10 pounds of blah in a 5 pound bag of meh to me.
  24. I've been reading a lot of NFL Trade Rumors lately and I totally agree that the NFL's free agent compensation system is great. I even like their tender system or whatever you call it where the draft pick you get is determined by how much you offer a player. This is a little off topic but does anyone know how exactly NFL team revenue is divided up? I understand that they have gobs of TV money that gets split but what about all the money the Packers are going to be making from their new development? Do they get to keep all of that or does that get split too? And if they do keep it, what can they spend it on?
