  1. If Joe's Used Car Emporium in Zalienople on Riverview Road right next to the airport is getting advertisement on MLB.tv in it's current format, it's not reaching anyone that is remotely close to his business. Joe's getting huge exposure to people that aren't in his market and he's paying for that. I don't see why he would want to.
  2. The dynamics between the Astros and Brewers are interesting with Stearns on the Milwaukee side now. If Houston had internals discussions about Braun last year or earlier Stearns is probably aware of what they would give up for him.
  3. Needed the printer ASAP yesterday so did a little online research and went to OfficeMax to get a Brother for $60 that was on sale. So far so good.
  4. I thought Block was pretty good with whoever it was he was paired with when Uecker was gone. By himself, beyond blah.
  5. If I knew how to type an eyeroll, I would. In every thread about a player who has been terrible his whole career someone brings up Carlos. He was 1000 times the exception, not the rule.
  6. Subscription prices have been cut, among other things mentioned in the article. I understand fees have been cut. But people like me who live in the Milwaukee market still can't watch the Brewers without a cable subscription. So really, nothing has changed.
  7. So basically nothing has changed, right?
  8. No salary floor. There's no reason for the Brewers to spend money right now. Being forced to is stupid. International draft. The current system is beyond crap even with the bonus pool. The rich teams just alternate blowing past their limit and taking the penalties while the small market teams still get the shaft. Is giving small market teams more money so they can lock up their stars really such a good thing? The long term mega deals that great players sign are killers for teams at the end. Would it be a good thing for the Pirates to pay a late 30's Andrew McCutchen $25+million a season to be replacement level or below or even sit the bench? Probably not. Imagine if the Brewers gave big money to Hart, Fielder, or Sabathia. Those contracts would be terrible and hurting the club.
  9. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Royals the next few years after they gave out those big contracts to Gordon and Kennedy and spent money on Soria. They just did exactly what a team in their position shouldn't be doing.
  10. Agreed. None of us our in the clubhouse but just watching the games and listening to interviews there is no one on the team that jumps out as a leader since Prince. In theory a guy like Lucroy should be a leader but I haven't seen anything from him in his demeanor or way he plays that shows he is. Generally I like when players are honest but this is the second time Lucroy has essentially said he wants to play for a winning team and pointed out the Brewers aren't a winning team. He doesn't have to be all rainbows and sunshine but he can be realistic without basically saying the team sucks.
  11. I was going to post about how I disagreed with you but then I looked at some numbers. Upton has played in some pitcher friendly parks in Atlanta and San Diego. Looking at their OPS+ over those 3 years it's actually closer than I would have thought. Upton's is 126 vs Davis's 119. I also would have guessed Upton's defense is much superior to Davis but based off of BREF's dWar Upton averages -.4 for his career to Davis -.6. It makes you wonder how much Davis would get if he were a free agent this offseason and how much should he really bring back in a trade.
  12. Our ink jet printer took a crap on us. I've been considering looking for a laser printer for awhile but this is going to make me just do it. About 95% of the printer I use for printing shipping labels the rest is just text, spreadsheets, etc. so we have no use for color. Don't really need it to scan either. Any suggestions?
  13. Arrogance much? Good to know that the "only" Brewers fans that have a clue about baseball are those that post on a blog site that the vast majority of fans haven't even heard of Did you look at the list? The alumni and Braun are the only ones your casual fan would really know. Scooter I suppose because he's got a funny name and the kids like him.
  14. Less stupidity on the base paths. With Gomez gone and Counsell having a full spring with the team I think we'll see less aggressiveness and certainly less runners from 3rd being thrown out at the plate on ground balls. At least I hope so.
  15. So basically this event is for Brewerfan.net only since we are the only fans that have any clue who those guys are.
  16. When I saw the title I came to post the exact same thing.
  17. If the Brewers want to rebrand themselves, they need only reference the Blue Jays 2012 rebrand. Bring back a classic with some tweaks to update it. Perfection. And the Astros and the Pirates too I think. Unlike most everyone else here, I'd rather they go with their original logo of the old Milwaukee Braves "M".
  18. Those both happened in the same year. What's your excuse for him last year? His approach is terrible and he's shown no signs of changing it. Ride him out this year and then ditch him.
  19. Evan Gattis was second in the league in triples with 11 last year. It's totally a fluke stat and in no way a repeatable skill.
  20. I'm not sure what you can gain by looking at stats by taking out the ones you don't like. Especially when that leaves you with a sample size half as big as the one you don't like. And triples are pretty much statistically irrelevant.
  21. Huh? 25-million Dollars? Are we in some sort of Bizarro-world? Please explain further... Poster is referring to Chris Davis who recently re-signed with the Orioles. And is a poor example since Chris Davis can play multiple positions, is average at worst defensively, and pretty good at getting on base.
  22. His free agency is only what, 3 years away? Salaries are not going to explode that much is only a few years. I'd say $35 Million a year is more realistic.
  23. Agree with everyone who says the concussion is what could lower his value. He could be fine or he could be one foul tip from never playing again.
