  1. I would think the Angels are the team most interested in Davis right now but they really don't have much to offer. Once Gordon, Upton, and Cespedes are all off the market I think Davis will be moved within days.
  2. Packers fans amaze me. Their team has made the playoffs 8 of the last 9 years and won a Super Bowl in that time yet they never think the team is that good. I'll give them that this year, despite a 10-6, they've played like crap but outside of Patriots or Spurs fans Packers fans have the least to complain about.
  3. If all those ifs happen I'd put Lucroy at first against lefties to minimize the injury and concussion risk.
  4. I had previously posted that I didn't think it was a total impossibility for this (or any team) to play slightly over .500 ball for the first two months of the season (or any part of the season for that matter) but then I looked at the schedule. In April and May the Brewers play 3 vs SF, 3 vs Hou, 6 vs Stl, 3 vs Pit, 4 vs Min, 6 vs ChC, 3 vs LAA, and 3 vs NYM. The only saving grace for those first two months is, if you include the first week of June, there's 13 against Cincinnati and Philadelphia.
  5. Sexon hit the flagpole. Richie Sexton says thanks, but there is a "T" in his name. I actually was going to post this one seriously. I watched it live (on TV) and was stunned to see that it wasn't a HR. The ball was 75'(?) up the pole. Longest non-HR hit in baseball history (well the projected travel anyway). I'm not sure if the smiley face means you're being sarcastic or not, but there is no "T" in his name. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/sexsori01.shtml
  6. But does it best Prince Fielder's popcorn bucket shot? Which oddly was also at Houston if I remember right. [sarcasm]Or Corey Hart's flag pole shot in Houston?[/sarcasm] Sexon hit the flagpole.
  7. I am assuming you meant "Juan Nieves no hotter bobble? lol Juan Neives deserves a no hitter bobblehead, more than any other Brewer in our history. We have one no hitter, only one! Every Brewers trivia question during TV games about franchise pitching records I always default answer Teddy Higuera. I just did that there too.
  8. Many others have made the points I was going to make but I'll still add that if you're going to keep two of the best players of all time in Bonds and Rose out because of rules violations and character or integrity or whatever you want to call it then noted racists like Ty Cobb and cheaters like Gaylord Perry should be removed.
  9. From what I've read he's a 2 pitch pitcher which means bullpen. Unless he comes at a super reasonable price, there's no reason to spend money on coin flip pitchers for the bullpen at this stage
  10. Stuff that happened rather than just players might be a fun idea. Teddy Higuera no hitter, Sexon/Burnitz 3 homerun game, Ben Sheets 18K game, 2008 Ryan Braun homerun vs Pittsburgh or Chicago, Nyjer Morgan winning run vs Dbacks in NLDS.
  11. Does anyone know how these rosters work? It seems like teams can pick up players whenever they want. Rusney Castillo is going to be playing for someone in the playoffs despite not playing for them at all before, that doesn't make any sense.
  12. A mid .800 OPS 3B hitting the free agent market at 29 is not in the Brewers price range.
  13. Crappy New Year to me. Right now my basement laundry room is filled with crap, literally. Thank god that's as far as it's gotten.
  14. The UPS guy where I worked said that UPS allows only a certain amount of time per day that their truck can be in park. I would imagine FedEx has something similar so they're not going to do anything that takes them out of the truck for awhile. That also explains why around Christmas I've seen the UPS guy in our neighborhood literally throwing packages from the truck.
  15. Unless you're Adam Dunn, I don't care about defense for a corner OF'er if you can hit. Braun and Davis can hit.
  16. Everything I've read about him says he's a below average CF and that was the consensus in the thread about his waiver claim too. I feel Stearns dumped him before because he didn't want him. I doubt that's changed in a month.
  17. Criminal cases have little bearing on administrative charges. Actually there is less of a burden of "proof". There's no way he should be suspended if he wasn't charged with anything. The MLBPA would make such a big deal out of this and Manford would come out looking like Goodell with deflategate.
  18. It's a minor league deal so whatever. But other than some versatility and stealing bases he really doesn't do much well.
  19. How exactly would moving the fences back help the team? It's not going to make much of a difference for offense since moving RF in didn't make much of a difference. And if you're thinking that turning Miller Park in to an extreme pitchers park is going to lure free agent pitchers, ask the Padres how that's worked out for them.
  20. Ugh. Christmas has passed. Therefore, snow is pointless. The piles are about halfway up the stop sign on our corner and it's still snowing.
  21. Cancer is so scary. Found out he had it on Saturday, dead two days later.
  22. I'm sure their relationships aren't the same but is there any chance Aaron Rodgers is as supportive of Matthews, Peppers, and Neal as he was of Braun?
  23. How many offseason's in a row now have we had this same thread?
  24. Chapman was never charged so I can't see any way he gets suspended. However, the return is pretty underwhelming even considering the off the field stuff with Chapman. I feel like the Reds could get more if they waited until July to trade him.
  25. Teagarden was caught talking about taking PED's on video. Everyone else was named by the guy. Two different situations. Not really -same guy is involved. Teagarden is talking to him on the video. In other words he has one guy on camera and then decides to name others that are innocent? Not likely. Either way, Teagarden admitted himself while Sly just named names.
