  1. It only took me 1 week before the phone fell out of my pocket. It looks like just the protective screen has some damage to it and the screen itself is fine but come on. Only one week?
  2. I think he's a reliever at this point in his career. Fastball is straight as an arrow and only sits 92-93 and not 95-97. IMHO he's the Brewers long man next year. Or maybe 6th or 7th inning guy. Not when he's making $12M a year.
  3. They are facing a lefty and the other CF options are left handed hitters. I hope he gets more starts in CF but it could very well just be because they are facing a lefty.
  4. Benching Davis would be dumb. He's either part of the future or a trade chip. Either way the bench isn't where he belongs.
  5. The game I was at was the game that he tanked. Couldn't find the plate or even the catcher sometimes. Velocity was low 90's. Maybe 92 at the highest that day.
  6. Seems like Dave just wants to hire his old buddies. I don't think there will be too much overlap in candidates.
  7. That pretty sums up how I feel about it. Where does he rank all-time, top 200 even?
  8. Ya. Got screen protectors when we got the phones.
  9. Pure ignorance of baseball strategy...... Are you telling me that ANY player.... Stress ANY player... who THINKS they can drive a pitch...... which technically is any pitch they initially swing at... In ANY situation in ANY count is not only ok, but should be encouraged by the manager. Taking a pitch 2-0 has it's place all the time, especially when: ....you are down late in the game and are looking to just get base runners on base .... A struggling hitter or pitcher is up and walk gets you to a much better hitter .... You DO NOT want to hit into a double play with bases loaded and a top hitter is on deck ..... A pitcher just walked two guys and you do not want to let him off the hook by swinging Does this mean you aren't swinging if the pitcher then makes the count 2-1? No. There are times to take a pitch, show some patience to better the team's overall game situation. Getting a walk or into a better walk count has its place. Our players need to be taught/shown this on and off the field. You take 3-0 99.9% of the time. Taking 2-0 just for the sake of taking 2-0 is only applicable when the pitcher can't find the zone or the pitcher at the plate. A 2-0 pitch is almost certainly going to be a fastball unless the batter is being pitched around.
  10. The Brewers have a hole there too but I read he is probably destined for 1B after Howard is gone because of his defense.
  11. What should I be looking for that will protect it from basic day-to-day stuff?
  12. Could packaging two or three prospects get you a Julio Urias? If a deal like that is on the table you have to consider it don't you?
  13. I have a friend who works at the course so I got to golf it for free once. I'm not much of a golfer anymore. I can hit the ball pretty far off the tee but it rarely goes very straight and the rest of my game is so-so. I figured the only thing worth mentioning from the round would just be that I actually golfed there. However, the huge fairways and lack of trees or any "real" rough suits my game pretty well. If you take my best 9 holes I was only 2 over. Even birdied back to back holes. I couldn't believe how "easy" the course was considering I don't think anyone was even under par the first PGA event there. The wind really is the toughest part of the course. Even on the calm day it was when I was there, the wind on the holes along the lake was still pretty strong and made those holes tougher.
  14. For the epilogue, since everyone is on the edge of their seat... We went on Saturday. We with Sprint since that is the carrier my wife already had. Both of us got the iPhone 6. So far I have no complaints. Well, except for the fact that my wife is constantly wanting to take selfies of us but I knew that was a risk going in. The only thing we need now are phone cases. I know Otterbox is or was the thing to have. Any good ones or bad ones? Is Amazon probably the best place to get them?
  15. I just hope that when David fails to reach the majors (because, let's be honest most don't) the story doesn't become that the Brewers or MLB are homophobic like it did when no one signed Michael Sam last year or after it took half a season for someone to sign Jason Collins.
  16. Did I hear my name being called? http://miamiherald.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83451b26169e2019b016e0839970c-pi Don't forget about me!
  17. I've never heard anyone say that stolen bases don't matter. However, it's generally not worth the risk of making an out.
  18. "Puigy just really battled his way around third base."
  19. Let's put some bad hitting middle infielders at first base while we're at it.
  20. Is Mattingly that bad that they are going to replace him with Roenicke next year?
  21. Keeping in mind we don't know the circumstances yet (it could be a salad tong incident, for all we know), but would you have felt the same way if the Brewers were contending right now and we do learn it was self-inflicted in anger? Team record wouldn't make a difference to me.
  22. Eh, people do stupid things all the time. As long as he's healthy for 2015 and continues to get outs.
  23. We've used a couple of those, but never having had smartphones we have no clue how to answer most of those questions.
  24. Honestly, this is the most positive I've felt about the Brewers long term outlook in quite awhile. Rick, you say your coworkers say you're homer? I'm guessing you are surrounded by fair weather, pseudo-Brewer fans who don't understand how baseball works. My aunt became a Brewer fan when they made the playoffs the first time with CC and the gang and has been following ever since. Last time I saw her she asked me how the Brewers expect to win by trading all of their good players. Baseball is just different that way. In the NFL and the NBA you can acquire a good player or two and turn your team into a playoff contender in one offseason. Not so much in baseball. You need to take a couple steps back before you can start moving forward.
