  2. He's also an outfielder so his presence would have hopefully removed the likelihood of Logan Schaefer or some other offensive blackhole OF'er being forced on the roster.
  3. Didn't even know he was a free agent. At least that takes one option of a terrible player to play way too much away from Ron.
  4. Catch Lucroy 140+ games and run him into the ground. Then let some other team overpay for his inevitable crash and burn. Such is the career of a catcher. Use 'em and abuse 'em.
  5. Magniflex (the company logo on the bobble) is an Italian company. The plot thickens.
  6. The Brewers could have (should have) done this deal, if not for a mil or so more.
  7. The new CNN.com is absolute garbage. I only went there for news because their site was the easiest to navigate. Now I need to find a new place. ----- Continued from: viewtopic.php?p=926955#p926955 Original Lead: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=2392
  8. Everything I've read about his defense behind the plate is that it is atrocious and he has no business being back there. I can't imagine he would be much better at first. He also has a .690 OPS away from Coors. That's not too inspiring.
  9. So I finally got around to upgrading to 10.6. Now, that you've stopped laughing I have a question. After installing the update I have over 17 GB more of free hard drive space than before. Does this make sense?
  10. I actually find a cheap QB and spend my money on a top WR and RB and buy the cheapest legitimate Defense and K I can. I haven't made a lot of money but I'm actually ahead in what I've spent and place in the money about half the time.
  11. A 37 year old with potentially 1 year left. Sounds about right.
  12. The only thing I can think of is that they might make the house super nice and cause your property values to go up but I can't believe one house would make that big of a difference. Or that a flipper would make that much of an improvement to it.
  13. The lack of interest in Aoki is all about his lack of power. Power has become the rare commodity in baseball right now that teams covet, hence guys like Nelson Cruz and Mike Morse get all the love. When you can get on-base at .350 clip I really don't care how far you can hit the ball, especially when there's only been a .007 difference in your OBP every year of your career. Aoki's lowest OBP of his career is better than every full season but one of Cruz's career and Morse's two best season OBP's were virtually identical to Aoki's career number. Aoki's age is obviously a concern and with the current roster he probably isn't a starter but between Braun's thumb, Davis's inexperience, Gomez playing style of major injury or suspension waiting to happen he's going to get plenty of at bats and enough time off to keep him fresh.
  14. At this point in free agency players are going to start to sign for cheap (except for Shields and Scherzer). I think the trade Parra and sign Aoki is starting to look like a smart idea. Parra probably wouldn't bring back a player of Will Smith's caliber but some sort of reliever with upside shouldn't be out of the question.
  15. Just finished watching The Holiday ("Christmas" romcom, wife made me watch it). The only good thing about this movie is that I'm pretty sure Jack Black took the part as a joke and acted it as corny and cliche as possible. Bravo to him.
  16. I don't collect bobbles but I would actually be interested in one of these.
  17. I didn't try snaking tonight but I got so frustrated watching the water slowly go down and stop that I took a plunger and went to town on it. I heard a noise like something letting go and water started running but all that happened was some gross brown stuff came back up. I'm thinking that means there is some sort of partial clog in there and hopefully I can get it out.
  18. I'll try snaking it and see if that helps. I'm not about to try any sort of major plumbing like was suggested.
  19. No water softener. It's not a problem of water going into the toilet, it's on the way out. Everything goes down like it normally should and then it sort of just stops likes it's plugged but I'm 99% sure that it's not plugged because sometimes it does flush completely.
  20. I don't think so. It's municipal water from Lake Michigan.
  21. We bought our house in March. During the inspection the toilet in the master bathroom flushed slowly. Our inspector thought it might be a blocked air vent and suggested we have someone look at it (which we haven't yet). Nothing else in the house drains slow. Our shower in the master bathroom backed up once and we had a plumber take a look at it and it was tree roots in our sewage pipe. He took care of that and no problems since, however, the toilet continues to flush slowly. Sometimes it won't even flush completely. I don't think it's plugged as we've tried plunging it many times and it doesn't make a difference. Any one have a clue what's going on or how to fix it?
  22. I had to google what OOZ% was, thought there was another new stat that I didn't understand, and nothing came up... What is OOZ% ? I believe it is Out of Zone. Meaning the number of pitches that batters swung at that wouldn't have been called strikes.
  23. This would make sense to me. However, I don't know if the Cuban league use a traditional contract/free agent system like Japan and MLB do and how that would effect things.
  24. I would agree with a lot of that about his defense from watching the video I posted at the beginning of the thread, except his hands looked pretty good to me. Arm wasn't great but not terrible, but first step looked slow and range was not very much. He's probably more 3rd base than 2nd or short.
