  1. I just watched the producers cut of the season finale and it got me thinking. What if that last scene is actually how the series ends? What if next season, and however many seasons are left, is just filling in the three year gap and the final episode ends the same way this past season's finale ends? Would you like that?
  2. Rays traded Brenden Harris, Jason Pridie, and Delmon Young for Garza Rays traded Garza for Hak-Ju Lee, Chris Archer, Robinson Chirios, Sam Fuld, and Brandon Guyer. Rays traded Shields for Patrick Leonard, Mike Montgomery, Wil Myers, and Jake Odorizzi. Pretty substantial wins for the Rays.
  3. Please tell me you're not comparing a rookie pitcher whose only professional experience is pitching one season of minor league Rookie ball to someone who had a lengthy track record of being an excellent relief pitcher in the majors. Which of these two pitchers is more likely to become a useful pitcher during the season in question? It seems that the pro-Wang crowd wants to gloss over the fact that it is virtually unprecedented that a team would carry someone with this little experience on a big league roster. Pitching in major league baseball is really, really hard and usually requires a number of years in the minors even for elite prospects--(which Wang is not). There are so many things I want to write but I'll just say Mike Leake and let you figure out the rest.
  4. What does that even mean "dynamic"? Personality, talent, value, what are we talking about? If we are talking most talented and trying to win now I would go with Kershaw and Puig.
  5. Herrera certainly didn't inspire any one in the OF. Putting aside the spiked ball from the other day (which was very Raul Ibanez-esque), his routes didn't seem real precise. I realize he doesn't play there much, but it wasn't great. While Biachi looks like a bad hitter, I have a lot more confidence in him in the field. He seems to have a pretty good grip on the game, no matter where he is playing. I'd be pretty comfortable putting him in the OF. Of course, his bat isn't likely to help us. I'm not sure why everyone is worried about losing his "versatility". Bianchi can play the same infield positions that Herrera can and anyone on the roster can play RF as good as he did.
  6. Herrera has looked terrible in the outfield and he's not much of a hitter. He's Bianchi 2.0.
  7. I wrote a post about this last year and had the pitching stats for position players since 2000 I think it was. Their numbers aren't all that bad and managers need to do this more often to prevent wasting BP innings in blow out games. Here is the link if you are interested http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=30381&hilit
  8. During the Rays/Red Sox rainout last night, ESPN actually talked about the Brewers for about 10 minutes. It contained depth and there was no mention of Braun and PED's. I was flabbergasted.
  9. Wang's a nice A ball arm. Period. He isn't worth wasting a 25 man slot for a contending team on the chance he's got anything more than a token big league career 4 years down the road. Current management will likely be long gone by then anyway. I was wondering how long it was going to take for Briggs to pop up and talk about his hate for Wang.
  10. Or they could...gasp! actually put Wang into a game.
  11. Then how do the 2 scoreless innings he's thrown factor into the numbers?
  12. Nava's in Triple A right now so it seems like they are not totally in love with him.
  13. I gotta say I thought that was the general consensus among Packer fans as I heard it so often from friends and family and heard it even more after they lost in the first round. And last year wasn't the first time I'd heard people say that. I thought it was pretty stupid to say that but I see posters say that here about the Brewers too.
  14. Totally off topic, but as a non-Packer who lives around Packer fans, I hate how they always say that it doesn't pay to make the playoffs if they don't think they can win the Super Bowl. Everyone I knew wanted them to lose to the Bears at the end of last season because they didn't have a team that was good enough to win the Super Bowl so it was pointless to make the playoffs anyway.
  15. It's not the usage, it's the lack of usage that has led to the over-usage of other guys and Ron's reasoning for it. Ron won't use him because he doesn't want to hurt his confidence. What a load of crap. Wang faced Major Leaguers in spring, he was a professional is Taiwan, he knows he's not ready and is only on the roster due to a technicality. If his confidence wasn't destroyed after his outing in Pittsburgh, nothing will. The pitcher always has the advantage over the hitter because hitting is hard. Having Wang face a bad lefty hitter or two, regardless of the score, is rarely going to affect the outcome of a game.
  16. Or, you know, Ron could actually stop being a dunce and pitch him every now and then. Who cares what the score is, bring him in to face a #7 or #8 lefty.
  17. Can someone explain what they like about Anderson. I'm not trying to be confrontational or anything, I just don't get anything special with him. He seems like your average, bland announcer.
  18. This is my first evening with nothing to do in a few months and I have the house to myself but there are no Brewers. At least Parks and Rec was on.
  19. So the season finale. I liked it. I think it would have been a great way to end the series. I wasn't a fan of the flash forward at the end but it looks like it is setting up the final season. With Leslie or Ben running for office.
  20. So is trying to get a hit by swinging, regardless of where the defense is. A huge part of Pena's problem was that he trying to drag bunt. With the shift you don't need to be as quick, you just need to put it in play. I'd like to see what would have happened had he treated it more like a sac bunt and took his time.
  21. Getting kicked in the shin hurts less than getting kicked in the balls. But I'd rather not be kicked at all.
