  1. Rodgers hasn’t been very good since 2015, and his first half performance killed any chance we had tonight. MVP? I don’t think he’s a top 10 QB
  2. legalization, decriminalization, bans, etc...it's all very complex. Nearly everyone these days has lost a friend, neighbor, co-worker, or loved one due to addiction. In an ideal world, bans would work. In reality, they just create thriving black markets. I don't know the solution for these issues, but it's a lot harder than we often make it seem. Throw in that legalization of substances helps validate their existence, yet society would clearly be better off without them.
  3. JUULs and vaping in general have been the #1 source of suspensions at my high school for about 5-6 years. Most people weren’t concerned until the last year. The major myth is that most parents and students thought it was simply flavored water vapor
  4. Hiring retreads like Washington or Showalter seems like such a bad idea. Umm, retreads? Two extremely successful managers. Just because they’ve had other jobs previously doesn’t make them a retread.

    Pizza

While it is good, I feel like it's really expensive for what you get. Last time I went there I spent nearly $30 for a family of four and I walked out still feeling hungry. Isn’t $30 for 4 pretty cheap? Casual food for 2 with iced teas are usually $30-40?
  6. Only one frozen pizza brand to me...Tombstone. I always loved the hamburger pizza as a kid. It was my go to on Friday or Saturday nights when I’d be home alone when parents would go out with friends. Now that would be a crime...leaving a 9-12 year old alone. But for me, pizza, video games, and ESPN monster truck rallies or TBS/TNT constantly showing Blues Brothers, Stripes, Fletch, Real Men, etc....those were great times
  7. How many dingers is Jesus gonna hit for the Rays this year? . I think Jesus may help the Rays get a new stadium. Some of his ridiculously high flies will either puncture the roof or hit the catwalks, causing a ripple effect in which the entire stadium will come down (Death Star-like)
  8. Coffee is a taste I can’t stand. It’s awkward, because I love the smell of grinds and of brewing. But coffee or mocha flavoring tastes terrible
  9. Haha, only if you want us to have the league’s crumbiest rotation. In reality, this signing is very smart, just like the extremely team-friendly Anderson contract
  10. When I thought we might sign Moose, I assumed Shaw would take over at 1st. Oh well. Too bad he desperately wanted out.
  11. Why is it that writers want MLB owners to open their books, but not NFL or NBA? So Haudricourt discloses the Brewers lost money in 2019, Forbes says they made $60 million...that's a big difference. One reality is that most people have no clue how expensive it is to run an entire organization. And why does it matter whether the Brewers are paying for Maryvale renovations in cash or financing? Either way, it's an expense and a multi-year drain on their finances. Additionally, it's a fallacy to say that just because Rendon was available AND the Brewers have a need at 3b, that they would be the highest bidder for him. Sorry, we will never be the highest bidder. We can pay fair market value (see Braun, Grandal, etc). We cannot be the top bidder willing to go beyond typical marginal compensation. It takes two to tango, and the Brewers will not be an option for any elite free agent on a record breaking deal
  12. If you've been following him long, you'd know that you don't need to explain his history, credentials, etc on Brewerfan.net (or even going back to the old brewerfan.com days)
  13. We absolutely loved O and Ka. Saw Love, but it's a bit awkward as we're in our 30s and didn't get everything. The Michael Jackson show....well, we won't see that on principle. If you're okay with spending for a great steak, I say go to Stripsteak at Mandalay Bay. Get the ribcap..I've never seen someone walk disappointed by it, and I've brought about 40 friends and family there. We have a usual waiter--Thomas. He will lead you to a wonderful experience if you trust him.
  14. I really like Jeff Sullivan (formerly a great writer/personality for FanGraphs) and he now works in an MLB front office now (Rays). He used to write draft pick recaps for SB Nation, and he did not nail his Yelich profile in 2010... I thought about this one too. Yelich has back injuries that might do better with less running. Plus, we don't know how his knee will be...he should be fine. Will he have some limitations? 155 games at 1b is better than 130-140 in RF
  15. Cain is super safe. we have zero reason to trade him. He was a gold glover and had positive value even in a year he was hurt with a bunch of injuries.
  16. There’s not much more to add. What free agents are left?
  17. Saw it reported that the Dbacks were his #1 choice. This is something we heard from Doug Melvin quite often...players preferences often play a role, whereas fans magically think any player will willingly come to their team.
  18. If you're doing that, Rizzo was acquired right? not home grown
  19. Sounds like a classic Stearns rotation move. Fine a guy that has flaws but has seen some success, perhaps in part due to an underutilized pitch. Miley’s cutter and Chacin’s slider are perfect examples
  20. Do you think the team has even the slightest of care if Hader wanted to start? Pretty much any pitcher wants to start. That is where longevity, long term deals, and huge contracts are. Man, always negative. This is a story we hear all the time that teams and players have discussions and if a player wants to try to transition to starting, the team may allow it as an experiment. It often doesn’t seem to work (Scott Williamson), but sometimes does (Derek Lowe).
  21. I really wanted us to get him...in the draft. Would love to find those old archives. Still he’s a welcome addition
  22. The only way a transition happens is if Hader approaches the team and expresses the desire to start. But given that he throws one pitch, I don’t see him moving to a rotation
  23. The Brewers obviously don't see Fry as a catcher and probably never will he is a 1B/3B only and not a catcher. 1b 3b is a wasteland. I hope Fry uses this as a springboard to start off in Carolina at 1b/3b and ends the year in AA. I miss the days of Prince Fielder, Brad Nelson, and Corey Hart. 1b depth would be nice. But we seemingly use 1b to give our other position players an extra opportunity to be in the lineup.
  24. In all honesty, that won't get it done. At this point, it might be better to trade him either now, or next season. Just can't see us handing out a 245 million contract...………………………………………………..EVER! Actually, if the 7/200 were to supplant the current contract, it's possible. Could pay him $25m/yr in years 1-3 (substantial raise of $34m) and roughly $125m over the last 4 years.
  25. Last time they outbid us 1 year and $60 million or so for Sabathia. This time it’s probably 5 years and $224 million. Man, that’s tough to lose again
