  1. How hard would it be to freeze out the owners and start a new league? I mean, I've recently seen commercials for a new USFL that will start this spring....which is like the 8th pro football league in the last 20 years--and that is while the NFL is actually going on... It's not like this is a super serious post as I realize that the infrastructure in place gives MLB a few advantages...but a lot of those advantages go up in smoke if enough lawyers and TV producers talk real quick like to the MLBPA...
  2. I agree. Playing for the tie strategically would have made some sense and certainly would have made me giggle. But it would be a very bad look. I don't really agree. If the point is extending your season it would've been completely acceptable at the end there. If they'd both come out and kneeled 100 times, yes, but there was clearly an earnest attempt on both sides to win by that point. In the last few seconds I think it would have been completely acceptable for OAK to decide a blocked kick isn't worth it and kneel. I'm of the opposite opinion...in that the playing of the game itself poses a significant risk to the future health of your roster, thus a 100-straight kneel down game actually makes perfect sense. Once you get to the point of attempting a field goal to win the game, sure, go for it.
  3. thank god I'm not a Chargers fan...or Steelers fan...
  4. Just take a knee...
  5. I thank god I'm not a Steelers fan....
  6. lololollolol
  7. Huh. Just keep winning. The goal before the season was to make the tournament...the goal now has to be: 1: win the B1G 2: failing that, get protected seed to play in Milwaukee the first 2 rounds. That said...considering the goal before the season, I vow to be satisfied if they make the tournament.
  8. Once again, I have no idea what to expect tonight @Maryland. I doubt we get blown out, but anything else could happen...and if Johnny has a bad game and/or our shooting woes pop up again I guess we could get blown out too.
  9. It's better for both the Raiders and the Chargers to rest up and tie than to play straight up and win and get dinged up or risk significant injury. Hard not to be sympathetic to the collusion route here, where it is genuinely beneficial for both teams. It only screws over the Steelers and their fans...meh
  10. The refs did themselves no favors by trying to explain the call on Davison's 3. I thought he got hit on the wrist regardless of his legs or hips or whatever. UW dominated either way. Expectations keep rising for this team. Their weaknesses have been shored up in the last 2 games...hopefully that kind of improvement continues.
  11. Marquette is weird. Absolutely dominating the previously red-hot Providence squad tonight.
  12. Here is one of them, not sure how this wasn’t reviewed by the refs. I've seen that make the rounds....but I don't think there is much there. Williams never really swung his elbows that violently, he just made an aggressive box out with his hips which hit Vogt in a goofy way and made him bend over at the waist awkwardly... There was a ton of contact, but it was all hips and lower body on the box out which is really hard to gauge how much power/contact is too much....
  13. The team isn't as good as this win. Johnny Davis is as good or better than this win. There will be a few bad losses in the next couple months; mainly when Johnny just doesn't have it. If he is feeling good though, they can and will beat anybody.
  14. I have the least amount of hope of winning the game tonight as any game since probably the Bennett years...maybe 2018 @PUR or @MSU. There is more than no hope, but I expect Purdue's interior to dominate a la the OSU game. I hope I'm wrong. And I hope Jonny can distribute the rock a bit tonight. He draws so much attention that it should leave somebody else open.
  15. 8 team league, TD-heavy. Naj Harris, Joe Mixon, James Robinson, Saquon Barkley, Cordarelle Patterson, Jeff Wilson. D Adams, Deebo Samuel, Diontae Johnson. 2 RBs, 2 WRs, and a flex. RB Harris, WR Adams and WR Samuel seem to be locks, but I'm unsure on RB2 and flex...
  16. 27-12 Lions with 3 and a half minutes left. NFL is nutz.
  17. Davis was literally one of the backups of the team last year. And Davidson literally started every game last year and Wahl started over half of them. Not only that but, but Kentucky sucked last year. Sure, they had like 4 NBA draft picks, but they went like 9-16. I guess those guys had starter talent though.
  18. The NFL is nuts. I guess there is a reason it dominates TV ratings..i.e. it's entertaining.
  19. Purdue losing to NC St. First #1 ranking in school history and they may promptly lose to two mediocre teams back to back.
  20. Classic win. It's popular to crap on the UW teams from the last couple of years, but this win reminds of...well...the team from TWO YEARS AGO that WON THE B!G. IU came out shooting hot in the first half, but that didn't last and UW just kept coming.
  21. That was an unexpected surprise. The Providence loss is now basically moot considering that Jonny D didn't play and is quite clearly the only reason the offense might be good. Beating Houston is going to go a looong way toward securing a tourney bid. They aren't going to have many more Ls on their resume. Mostly though it makes me smile thinking that I am going to enjoy following the team all year. With that defense they have a chance to win going into every game.
  22. Dont forget Kauth Meh. He seems like a thinner, bouncier version of Theo John. Good defensively I suppose if he is in the right spot-- mostly stays out of the way on offense unless it's a put back or a wide open alley-oop.
  23. Marquette is a fun team. 3rd straight comeback from being down a dozen, although they haven't finished this one yet. Kolek and Morsell are quite the transfer duo.
  24. Ever? So the last Brewer Cy Young winner had an ERA over 3.30, a WHIP over 1.5, a FIP over 4, a 1.03 K to BB ratio, and less than 4 and a half Ks per 9. My how the game has changed. I have3n't looked at any stats...I assume he won a lot of games? Many more than Corbin?
