  1. Couldn't agree more. Hopefully Braun will be around (playing 1st) on our next playoff appearance.
  2. I would love to see Santana in AAA after his performance in Winter League. That would also make for quite the OF in Colorado Springs. Love to see the depth that is coming into the Brewers system. Should be a fun year!...except for all the losses.
  3. [EDIT: Welcome to the list, young man. http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2015?list=mil I know this is completely off subject, but Cody Ponce is our #30 prospect???
  4. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/01/orioles-cespedes-rumors-five-year-offer.html Braun is just so hard to peg a return on, with his surgery and PED issue. I would start with Braun and see what the Orioles are offering or how much money they want back with him and things stalemate, drop the idea of moving Davis. Apparently the Orioles have a higher payroll than normal and might give up a lot for Davis. The same article also stated they might be in the market for a starter too. If they don't get who they want a Davis/Peralta trade would fit nicely if they have the pieces.
  5. Maybe they should do "guest" broadcasters this season. Let different people match up with Ueck for a series and then on to the next one. Bob would probably hate that though. It could be a good way to give different people a shot and see what the audience thinks.
  6. Not to hijack the thread or anything, but with Uecker maybe retiring soon, I'd think we could get someone that would take over for him in the future. I'd love to have Powell back.
  7. If baseball is to thrive, all local TV monies has to be put into a pool and split among the teams. ^^^ This
  8. That would be nice, but we would have to give up someone else on the 40 man at that point wouldn't we? Not sure if DS likes him that much.
  9. Garza + $10 mil for DeShields? Should that be in blue?
  10. This makes way too much sense. Does that mean its impossible?
  11. Parmalee I would be ok with, but as hard as it is to say I think Garza is worth more than LaRoche with the price of starting pitching. I like the idea of leaving Garza in the rotation and see if he can regain some trade value.
  12. Wow...while I'm willing to trust Stearns on this and I realize that Lind is not an All-Star or anything, but I would think we could get a couple Top 30 guys for him. I get that we need to stock the system a bit, but it would be nice to actually have an idea of who we are getting when the trade is made. Hoping we see these guys at Miller Park in 2021. Have to admit, this makes me slightly more nervous to trade Luc....
  13. While I agree at this point in time, if Braun proves to be healthy and the Tigers need a bat half-way through the season I could see Detroit pulling the trigger to get them over the hump. Their owner has said on multiple occasions that money is not an issue, but if it is we can afford to pay some of Braun's salary. Hell, I would pay his whole salary this year and half next year to get some decent prospects and get out from under the contract. If the Tigers are playing well, I'm not sure why Braun would say no. Braun and $20 mil for Fullmer and a high upside lower minors guy
  14. If Rodriguez can play 3rd, I think we look at him. 23 yrs old, has some versatility at 2B and SS. Also, he missed time with a hand injury and still slugged .491? Pretty good as I think most players with hand/wrist injuries usually don't get back to 100% for a year or so. ...or we could steal from the Cardinals. Either way its a win.
  15. I hope you are right! Although that would be a horrible defensive team. Probably one at 1st, one at third, and one in left? Gross. I'd much rather have the Voltron of infielders discussed in another thread.
  16. I was thinking Labourt also as a nice piece. I wonder if we could get Cessa in the Rule V and then Labourt in the trade?
  17. Seems like an older version of Sardinas except in OF. I thought we could get a little more since he was a SS. Stearns has something up his sleeve or he is just trying to get rid of all the players he doesn't like and start from scratch. He is a lefty though. That is nice.
  18. The only thing I dislike about this trade is the fact that we have to give up 40 spot right before Rule V. Hopefully we DS can move a couple guys we don't need to protect/draft good players. Overall I like the move as it is, but if we move Segura or Gennett and get something useful for them, then I will be very pleased with this one.
  19. At this point, wouldn't it make more sense to try and grab younger guys like Bradley (1B) and Mejia © who would not be counted to the 40 man? I know we need a 3B, but we are going to be pushing 90 losses anyway this year. Why not just give the job to Perez and try and to get younger talent who can come up with the younglings? I don't have an issue with your idea, I'm just wondering why we don't go younger since Stearns has said he wants to infuse the system with young, controllable guys.
  20. Maybe our new Assistant GM knows something about Leonard that might make him worth a shot. I would love to take a shot at the Cub's kid, but it sounds like he might be protected. It's crazy how much talent they have over there and they can protect them all. I would also take a shot at Labourt. Might very well be another Wang situation, but seems like he'd be worth a shot if he can handle getting knocked around once in awhile mentally. Our new pitching coach (Johnson?) might be able to keep his confidence up.
  21. He is obviously blocked by Rizzo. MLB has him as the Cubs #12 which probably puts him in our top 10. Anyone know what it would take to get him? Honestly I'm not even sure he would be a good option since he pretty much all bat, but it might be worth checking out due to our black hole of 1B unless we get Braun to move there. Would Will Smith be enough to pry him loose?
  22. Is there any chance Stearns DFA's Garza before Friday to free up another 40 man spot? I personally don't think he should because I don't think he can pitch worse than last year, but if there is a player that Stearns either really wants in Rule V or wants to protect in them minors, it might be easier to do with K-Rod's money off the books.
  23. Well done MH! http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/157509618/brewers-sign-jim-miller-to-minor-league-deal
  24. Could we get Profar and Gallo for Lucroy and someone else? That would go a very long way to reloading if Profar stays healthy. Lucroy, Scooter and ... Will Smith?
