  1. That is a very pretty swing. I like Rutherford a lot, but if Puk, Pint, Groome, Lewis is there, we better get a nice discount on top of it.
  2. Yep I totally agree! While normally I would be all for this, I think there are teams that have way more cash than we do and therefore we should get more bang for our buck at #5. I wouldn't be crushed if we picked Collins, but I would definitely want some big money savings if we are passing on Pint/Groome/Puk/Hudson. While I agree that you don't draft for need, I think its always good to have frontline pitching.
  3. ...looks like the Giants need outfielders too, but their system isn't much better than White Sox. I believe we don't need #8's permission to trade him to San Fran though. Tyler Beede and Bickford would be nice and we can pay Braun's contract this year and half next to keep them under the luxury tax. Okert would be nice too since the Brewers tried drafting him twice. I know, not the current regime. Trade season is inching up on us!!!
  4. Would we do a Braun to the White Sox for Fullmer + and not pay any salary if we get close to the deadline with no other offers. Not the best return, but if we don't have to send money their way it might be worth it. Otherwise depending on what DS and the scouts feel about their lower minors, maybe Fullmer + a Lind type deal with a little cash thrown in. I get that it isn't the best return, but I think if we can get Fullmer and Braun waives his NTC, everything else could be worked out. I just think that if we don't trade him now or this offseason he will be a Brewer for the life of the contract and I'm not sure how that help the rebuild all that much.
  5. Well at this point you might as well just leave Broxton in AAA the rest of year and try again next year with Broxton in Milwaukee and hopefully Phillips in AAA.
  6. Maybe pitching. It would be nice if Peralta took off suddenly. Anderson might be an option. Red Sox and Yankees prospects always seem overhyped though. Sox have some nice prospects though.
  7. 1:7 Perez Seems like a player they would pick even if they were picking earlier.
  8. I agree with everything you said until you add the fact that they haven't won anything since the Model T was shiny. If I'm the Cubs, I make every move I can. Heck I would trade for King Felix while I'm at it too.
  9. Maybe we can get another teenager or two with some upside. Would be easy enough to move Villar to third and Rivera to short. From KC's side, depending on who they have on the farm, I would think Aaron Hill would fit it pretty nice there as long as DS isn't asking a ton for him.
  10. Ahhhh! I think I finally understand now. Sorry everyone!
  11. Not sure if I'm supposed to move on to pick #2 yet, but here we go. Since I said Perez would be 1.1, I will go with Puk #2. 1. Perez 2. Puk
  12. It is kind of hard to see on the video, but look at the bullpen on the far left after it goes out. They are going nuts for their boy! Its just something about Tim Dillard that makes me love baseball...and Tim Dillard. I hope we sign him year after year until he ready for the booth.
  13. Obviously anything is possible, but do you think they may take someone that is moving up draft boards right now and try and save some money on that pick in order to spread it around on signing future picks? Seems like there are some really good players at 5, but if Stearns/Montgomery think they can get a guy almost as good and save some money, I wonder which way they would go.
  14. Maybe we can build one in Miami then. The Marlins never draw a crowd.
  15. You never really know what is going to happen to some extent up to the pick being made, but at this point I would be very happy one of Groome, Perez, Pint or Lewis. Moniak and Senzel are working their way up a lot of draft boards too. Just sit back and let Ray Montgomery do his job.
  16. If they are going to realign things and expand, they may as well make the DH MLB wide and just organize the (preferrably largeer) divisions by geographical location. That would save money in travel also. Not sure how Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and the Bay area would feel about that though. Might be nice for Chicago teams especially as they would be able to sleep in their own beds when they play across town. Chicago would be close distance to other Chicago (obviously), Milwaukee, Minnesota, Detroit, St. Louis, Kansas City, Cincinatti. Good start for a Central Division.
  17. I don't know much about the Detroit system, I would think Fullmer would be a definite, but I think there is a big drop off after that. Unless Stearns really wants to dump him, I'm not sure they have enough pieces. The Rangers have more pitching that we can mine. Detroit has more OF which we have a ton of. Of course, the fact that the Rangers and Tigers both need a starting catcher is making DS look smart if a deal can get done.
  18. Man, that Biloxi team look just as good as last years, even without Arcia.
  19. Liriano isn't going on the 60 day? I would put him there just to keep his roster spot for one of the other OF for now, and give him time to work through any skittishness in the minors.
  20. When talking about Clark in that article, this really stood out to me... "He's been compared to Ryan Braun for his tools, and he's likely to hit for more homers as he grows into his body." That seems like pretty high praise. I always thought of him as more of a 20HR guy than a 30-35 HR guy. Has anyone heard this comparison before?
  21. I know this is probably out of the realm of possibility, but could Clark be pushed to A+? He isn't a power hitter like Roache or Coulter so I wouldn't think it would necessarily hamper him. Pitching would obviously be more difficult, but I always hear the jump from A+ to AA is the harder jump. I would much rather have the Brewers push someone from the Wisconsin roster up and have Clark in Wisconsin, but maybe they are high enough on his polish as a hitter they think he can hand BC. Of course this would almost assure him of two years in BC, which would be a drag on an offensive player.
