  1. It doesn't make much of a difference. We're not competing anytime soon, so we can put a pan of lasagna behind the plate for all I care.
  2. Seems like a solid trade. I didn't think the Brewers were gonna get the likes of Shipley and Bradley for a SS who couldn't hit for the past two years and a solid yet uninspiring minor league pitcher.
  3. A rumor, FWIW: https://twitter.com/insidebaseball6/status/690665078350163968
  4. Regarding the Nationals, I also like the idea of getting Victor Robles in return. Sure, the Brewers' system is full of OF prospects, but talent is talent. I definitely wouldn't mind getting Turner, though. For Minnesota, I would like Kepler and Jay, although Gordon is nice too.
  5. Except that Sheets had two amazing pitches which somehow compensated for the lack of a third pitch.
  6. Trading Lucroy for Ploufe literally makes no sense. If we are trading Lucroy it better be for prospects and high ceiling prospects at that. That's what I thought too. I wonder what it would take to get a hold of Tyler Jay.
  7. https://twitter.com/wisconsin888/status/683377096496910337 I highly doubt the validity of this rumor, but I'm bored enough to share.
  8. Sure, we don't know how things will turn out, but one has to wonder if Stearns was trying too hard to be clever.
  9. I don't think they gave up the Competitve Balance pick. I think they just gave the international bonus slot.
  10. 2 top 100 prospects plus a couple arms. I'll take it!
  11. No way in hell the Nats give up Giolito.
  12. I would also like to see Zimmer in the package.
  13. IIRC, the Pirates were also interested in Lind. Perhaps we can trade them Lind for Reese McGuire and Trey Supak?
  14. The baseball gods are punishing you for complainingn so much. :P If the Cards are out of the running for Lind, then who next? Pirates? Astros?
  15. According to Haudricourt's sources, Gomez's hip issues aren't bad enough to nix a trade. So the hip issue may not hinder the Brewers from trading him.
  16. Cleveland is 8 games under .500 and thus very unlikely to make the playoffs, so why would they be aggressive in going after Gomez now, even with him being under contract for next season? Well there were reports that the Indians were very interested in Gomez. It's not as if they can get him for a bag of peanuts.
  17. Zimmer, Frazier, plus low-level pitching prospect? I would like to add Salazar to that but that seems to be a stretch.
  18. I'm not privy to the scouting report on Anderson, but he fell short of 7 Ks/9 in the minors. He just got shelled, so maybe he's over the "book not out on him" stage in the majors. I'm not that interested, though again, maybe he is an incredible sinker guy or something that I don't know. The main pieces would be Zimmer and Frazier. I suggested Anderson for the sake of adding a pitcher.
  19. Seems like Mets had concerns with Gomez's hip to begin with, but if it wasn't a big concern, it sounds like the Brewers had issues with Wheeler's elbow first and then the Mets started to whine afterwards.
